FIFA World Cup Qualifying Games – CONCACAF – Oct. 7

Jamaica +1 ½ (-138) vs. United States -1 ½ (+104)

When: Thursday, Oct. 7

The United States has played great in their last 5. The Americans beat Qatar and Mexico 1-0 each on their way to a Gold Cup Championship.

Since winning the Gold Cup, the U.S. has drawn with El Salvador and Canada. On Sep. 8, the United States beat Honduras 4-1.

Jamaica is as cold as can be. Although the Jamaicans played well on Sep. 8 to draw 1-1 with Costa Rica, the draw broke a 4-match losing streak. The last time the Jamaicans and Americans clashed, USA beat Jamaica 1-0.

But in the head-to-head before last, the Americans rolled to a 4-1 victory. Team USA should have no trouble covering this handicap.

Soccer Pick:
United States

Costa Rica +190 vs. Honduras +165

When: Thursday, Oct. 7

Both Honduras and Costa Rica show suspect form. The Hondurans have lost 3 and drawn twice in their last 5. Costa Rica has drawn 3 times and lost twice in their last 5.

On June 6, these two drew 2-2. Based on the moneyline odds, another draw is more than probable. But the Hondurans may have to push the attack.

Honduras has 2 draws and a loss in FIFA World Cup Qualifying. Los Ticos shows 3 draws and the 2 losses. If Honduras pushes too much, Costa Rica can score a goal on the counter. Give the slight underdog the nod.

Soccer Pick:
Costa Rica

Canada +520 vs. Mexico -192

When: Thursday, Oct. 7

FIFA ranks Mexico ninth in the world. At #9, the Mexicans rank higher than Uruguay, Denmark, the United States, Germany, the Netherlands, Switzerland, Colombia, Croatia, and Sweden.

Canada ranks #51. Going back to 2013, Mexico has won the last 5 head-to-head matches. The -192 odds won’t make us rich, but based on Mexico’s record versus Canada, El Tri could be an overlay.

Soccer Pick:
Mexico

Panama +150 vs. El Salvador +215

When: Thursday, Oct. 7

For the first time since 2016, Panama takes on El Salvador in a meaningful match. Between the two squads, Panama is in much better form.

The Panamanians forced a 1-1 draw with Mexico in their last FIFA World Cup Qualifying game. Before that, Panama beat Jamaica 3-0 in a WC qualifier.

El Salvador has lost 2 straight. Canada beat El Salvador 3-0 in a FIFA WC qualifying match on Sep. 8. Then on Sep. 24, Guatemala upset the El Salvadoreans 2-0 in an international friendly.

El Salvador looks up against it. But the underdog had forced 3 straight draws before the 2 straight losses. So we’ll go for the draw.

Soccer Pick:
Draw
