Does Denmark offer overlay, underlay, or fair odds to win the 2022 Qatar World Cup?
There’s a reason the Danish are the eighth choice to win the World Cup. The Danes sport one of the deepest teams at the World Cup.
Everything starts with Christian Eriksen. Eriksen suffered a minor heart attack in Denmark’s first match at EURO 2020. Amazingly, even though Eriksen was out for all of EURO 2020, the Danish played well enough to make it to the semifinals.
The Danes couldn’t get past England in the semis. But Denmark pushed one of the World Cup favorites. If you believe, don’t worry about the odds because they’re more than fair.
World Cup Odds: Fair
Is Uruguay worth a look to win the the 2022 Qatar World Cup?
Uruguay is one of the eight nations to have won a World Cup. Uruguay’s last World Cup win happened in 1950.
The first happened in 1930 when Uruguay hosted the inaugural World Cup. Not only has Uruguay not won soccer’s most important trophy since 1950, Uruguay hasn’t played in a championship match since 1950.
It’s not as if Uruguay hasn’t tried. The 2014 and 2018 teams led by Edinson Cavani and Luis Suarez were as good as it gets. Cavani and Suarez were two of the top players in the world in those years. But the best Uruguay could do in 2014 is the Round of 16. Uruguay finished fifth in 2018.
The Uruguayans shouldn’t do much more than make it to the knockout stage. But if you think they’ve got a chance, even if Suarez and Cavani are both 35, the odds are fair.
World Cup Odds: Fair
Is Croatia an overlay or underlay to win the 2022 Qatar World Cup?
Like Uruguay and Denmark, second tier odds team Croatia offers a fair number. The Croatians played great at the 2018 World Cup.
Facing a heavy chalk in England, Croatia managed a 2-1 victory. The Croatians, especially the brilliant Luka Modric, laid it all on the pitch in the win over the English.
When it came to the the final match, Croatia was gassed. The French blasted the underdogs 4-2. This year, Modric is 36. Croatia hopes to give Luka plenty of rest during the group stage.
Croatia is loaded with quality young players. So we shouldn’t give up on them to at least make it to the Round of 16. If that happens, who knows?
World Cup Odds: Fair
