FIFA World Cup Betting Prediction: France Odds Analysis and What they Need to Move to the Next Round

Heading into this fall’s World Cup tournament in Qatar, most soccer handicappers agree that if a team is to win from Europe, that team will be France. The defending 2018 World Cup titleholders showed in 2021 that they will be a force to reckon with. But is France worthy of a bet at the less than optimal +550 odds? Also, what are the chances the French move onto the second round and will France win their group? Check out an analysis of France’s odds to win the WC as well as a group prediction so you can plan your bets against the FIFA World Cup Odds

France Odds to Win World Cup Will Move On to the Next Round

  • France +550

At first glance, it looks as if the odds on France make them an underlay. Ah, but here’s the thing, the English are also at +550 and it’s impossible to write that England is a better team than France.

The French are loaded. Karim Benzema, Paul Pogba, and Kylian Mbappe ensure the French play great. Even if opponents contain Benzema, Pogba, and Mbappe, they must deal with Antoine Griezmann, Joules Kounde, and Aurelian Tchouameni.

Not only are the French loaded, but they won the UEFA Nations League over Spain last fall. France is ready for the Qatar World Cup. So if you believe in the French, don’t worry if you’re backing them at overlay odds.

Only eight nations have won the World Cup and France is one of them. So back the French with  confidence if you think they win back-to-back WCs.

Why France will move to the next round

Mbappe is the best overall player in Ligue 1. Benzema is the best player in LaLiga.

Goalie Hugo Lloris starts for Tottenham. Most soccer handicappers consider Pogba one of the best midfielders in the world. The bench is loaded and France won the WC in 2018. So, yeah, they should handle their group.

Why France won’t move to the next round

Having a lot of great players doesn’t ensure a group victory. After all, Paris Saint-Germain floundered in the Champions League after signing Lionel Messi. Can you think of a more disappointing super team in any sport than PSG this season?

Not only that, but the Nations League win was nice, but what happened at EURO 2020? So just because France beats Spain for the Nations League title, it doesn’t mean the issues that plagued this squad at the EUROs no longer remain.

Final Analysis – France will win Group D

Sure, there are plenty of reasons to knock the French. The Nations League isn’t as important as the EUROs and at EURO 2020, France bombed.

Also, Benzema and Mbappe are playing hard. So who knows in what shape either may be in come November. Not only that, but Real Madrid really wants Mbappe and, yep, that’s Benzema’s squad for now.

So bad feelings could exist when the French hit the pitch at Qatar. But with all that being written, France is too loaded to fail in Group D.

Denmark is a good squad, but they won’t be as good in this year’s World Cup as they were at EURO 2020. If the Danes don’t upset France, the French roll to a Group D victory because Tunisia, Peru, UAE or Australia definitely shouldn’t beat the French.
