#5 Kansas State vs #12 Iowa State Betting Preview & 3 Great Matches to Bet On

Another week of college basketball action is in the books, and it was another one where we saw some surprises, which is becoming somewhat par for the course. We are going to see some changes at the top of the rankings when the new top 25 is released later today, but while finishing as high as possible is the goal for every team, not slipping into a losing skid at this late stage of the season is also paramount. We are at the stage where it’s time to start talking about the teams that will be in the tournament, so every win and loss now starts to feel a little bigger. Let’s take a look at the upcoming schedule for the week to find some games for you to bet on their NCAA Basketball Odds.

Men’s NCAA Basketball Betting Picks & Options for this Week’s Best Games (Jan. 23rd – 26th)

Kansas Jayhawks at Baylor Bears – Monday

Kansas started last week sitting in the #2 spot in the nation, but they are about to see s big drop this week. An OT loss to Kansas State stung but getting totally blown out by TCU was a result that no one saw coming. It doesn’t get much easier on Monday night, at a trip to Baylor to face the Bears, who are on a 4-game win streak, is not what a team in a nosedive would be looking for. The Bears could really get themselves back into the Big 12 conversation with a win here and given that they are 8-2 at home this season, they might be worth a look as a slight favorite.

Kansas State Wildcats at Iowa State Cyclones – Tuesday

The battle for the top spot in the Big 12 is very tight indeed, but it could become a whole lot tighter, depending on the outcome of this one. It is the Kansas State Wildcats who are on top at the moment, posting a 6-1 record in conference play. They have no less than 3 teams with 5 wins hot on their heels, though, with the Cyclones sitting in that group. Iowa State, though, has lost 2 of their last 3 games, so even though they are at home, they might just be a little vulnerable at the moment.

Xavier Musketeers at UConn Huskies – Wednesday

These two teams have very similar records, with both sitting on 16 wins, but how they have performed in conference play has been very different. It is Xavier who are on top with an 8-1 record in the Big East, while the Huskies are at 5-5, meaning that all their losses this season have come in conference play. The Musketeers would love nothing more than to grab the regular season conference crown, but this is not going to be an easy one, no matter what the UConn Huskies have done in the Big East.

Purdue Boilermakers at Michigan Wolverines – Thursday

We close out our preview for the week with a great matchup in the Big Ten. The Purdue Boilermakers are 19-1 overall, which includes an 8-1 record in conference play, and they could well be back at #1 overall after what went down last week. They will be favorites when they head on the road to face the Michigan Wolverines, who are 11-8 overall and 5-3 in conference play, but this is not a game that they can look beyond, as this is never an easy place to go and get a win.
