NCAA March Madness Final Four Betting: UNC Tar Heels Analysis, Odds & Prediction

Head Coach Hubert Davis Leading The North Carolina Tar Heels

In looking at the North Carolina Tar Heels, this is an interesting story. For much of the year, critics were quick to bash first-year head coach Hubert Davis and the way his Tar Heels were playing.

Throughout much of the season, many doubted that North Carolina would even make the tournament. However, things turned around quickly, and the Heels are now sitting in New Orleans preparing to play in the Final Four.

North Carolina has one of the top offenses in the country. Ranked 18th in offensive efficiency in the latest KenPom rankings, the Tar Heels can score in numerous ways.

As North Carolina teams have in the past, the Tar Heels love to get up and down and score in transition. Davis, a former North Carolina player, has taken many things from Roy Williams’s system and continued to run them.

One of the main reasons that things turned around for North Carolina during conference play was the stellar play of big man Armando Bacot. Bacot seemed to pull things together and play much better later in the season. He can score inside, and he’s also very good on the glass.

Another reason that North Carolina is in New Orleans is because of the play of Brady Manek. Manek, the Oklahoma transfer, has a very versatile game.

He can score on the inside while being a deadly shooter from the perimeter as well. He’s a very tough matchup for the opposition.

Caleb Love and RJ Davis On Fire

Caleb Love and RJ Davis have been spark plugs throughout the NCAA Tournament. They have both hit some huge shots and have shot the ball from beyond the arc well during North Carolina’s run. If these two continue to shoot well, and Bacot and Manek are on their games, this squad will be tough to defend.

Coming into the Final Four, North Carolina is a +500 to cut down the nets in New Orleans. Against the Duke Blue Devils on Saturday night, the Tar Heels are four-point underdogs.

In their last meeting, North Carolina spoiled Coach K’s final home game by beating the Blue Devils 84-81. We think that this one will also be a high-scoring affair.

North Carolina has been to the Final Four 21 times. This is the most Final Four appearances in NCAA history. Hubert Davis would love to be talked about with Roy Williams and the great Dean Smith.

Unfortunately, we don’t see him being able to pull off the victory against Duke on Saturday. Things just seem to be going Duke’s way right now, and after their victory at Cameron, the Blue Devils will be extra-motivated to take care of the Tar Heels on Saturday night.
