Don’t expect Trevor Bauer to return to the Dodgers at the end of the week

Last week, due to serious allegations regarding Bauer and sexual assault, the Los Angeles Dodgers placed the 2020 Cy Young winner on a 7-day administrative leave. Many don’t expect LAD to lift the administrative leave after the 7 days are over.

The allegations against Bauer include some pretty shocking stuff. It’s difficult to imagine any baseball fan, Dodger fan or not, looking at Bauer the same way. Bauer hasn’t denied any of it. Instead, he insists the things he’s accused of doing were consensual.

In other words, Bauer’s accuser knew and agreed to his actions. No matter what happens, Bauer’s MLB career may be over. Most of the allegations point to a violent individual, or at least an individual with violent fantasies. It will be tough for the Cy Young winner to overcome his new reputation.

Expect Yankees to make a trade in desperate attempt to salvage season

As of July 6, the New York Yankees are 43-41 and 9.5 games behind the rival Boston Red Sox in the AL East, which means the American League’s preseason team to win the World Series is underperforming big time.

Don’t expect the Yankees to stand pat. Rumor has it, three NYY players are on the trading block. New York could part ways with Gleyber Torres, Zack Britton, and, or Brett Gardner.

There’s also a rumor the Yankees are looking to add a starting pitcher. Colorado Rockies’ ace German Marquez, Twins’ ace Jose Berrios, and Texas Rangers’ star pitcher Kyle Gibson are the three flame throwers MLB analysts believe could end up in pinstripes.

Braves ready to pull trigger to get back into NL East hunt, but don’t expect Mets to stand pat

The Atlanta Braves and New York Mets also figure to make trades before the deadline. The Braves aren’t in desperation mode yet, the ATL is 5 games behind the Mets, but like NYY, the Braves were supposed to be one of the better teams in baseball this season.

Atlanta won’t make a splashy trade for someone like Gibson or Berrios. Instead, the Braves will aim lower. A trade for Baltimore pitcher Cole Sulser or Rockies’ right-hander Mychal Givens could be in the works.

The Mets may be looking to add former Blue Jay and current Twin Josh Donaldson. Why Donaldson?

Donaldson’s bat still has some pop and the Mets average 3.65 runs per, ranking 29th in Major League Baseball. NYM knows that if they want to maintain their NL East lead, and if they hope to contend in the playoffs, they must score more runs than they have.
