NBA 2021 Divisional Championship Odds Updated Analysis

Written by on March 8, 2021

With half of the season gone, the divisions are taking shape in the NBA, but they are also far from over. There are several close battles going on, and even those that look to be done could still change over the next couple of months. There is still plenty of time to wager on the teams that you think will won each of the divisions in the NBA, so we thought that it might be a good time to look at the current NBA Divisional Championship odds and maybe make some picks for you to bet on.

NBA 2021 Divisional Odds to win: Which team will Division?

Atlantic Division

The Boston Celtics might argue, but it looks as though this division is down to a 2-horse race between the Philadelphia 76ers (+200) and the Brooklyn Nets (-220). It is the 76ers who have the lead at the moment, but they are just a half game up and the Nets are on fore. I think Brooklyn pulls away in the second half.

Central Division

While the Milwaukee Bucks have not played as well as expected in the first half of the season, they have the benefit of being in a weaker division. The Bucks, who are -10000 to win the Central, have a 5-game lead at this point and will not be caught.

Southeast Division

When you consider that the Miami Heat are on top of the division despite only playing .500 ball through the first half, you get an idea of how poor this division has been. The Heat (-250) have a ½ game lead over the Charlotte Hornets (+700) and are just 2 up on the Hawks (+375). This one really is a coin flip at this point.

Northwest Division

The Utah Jazz (-2000) have the best record in the NBA, as well as a 5 ½ game lead in the division. Yes, they lost back-to-back games prior to the break, but that seems like a minor blip given how well they have played to this point. The Portland Trail Blazers (+1600) are their closest challengers, but they seem unlikely to close this gap in the second half of the season.

Pacific Division

They don’t come much tighter than this, with three teams separated by just a game and a half. It is the Phoenix Suns (+450) who are the surprise leaders at the midway point, but they are going to have some task on their hands trying to hold off the Lakers (+115) and Clippers (+115) in the second half. With Anthony Davis now expected back from injury, you have to like the Lakers to get back on track.

Southwest Division

We have another really good race on our hands here, with the San Antonio Spurs (+220) holding a 1-game lead over the Dallas Mavericks (-140), with the Memphis Grizzlies (+650) also keeping pace. I expect the Mavericks to swing a deal or two at the trade deadline to boost them into the second half of the season, which should help carry them to a division title.
