Betting NBA All-Star An How Rosters Impact the Score
When you have a long season, such as we have in the NBA, the players tend to need a bit of a break at some point.
That break will be coming soon enough, as the All-Star Game is almost upon us.
The fans have voted, and we will be seeing what they deem to be the best players in the league taking the court this coming weekend.
Besides the players voted in by the fans and media, we also have a number of reserve players, all of whom are chosen by the coaches taking part in this event.
The NBA All-Star Game changes location every year so that every team’s city is represented, with the 2025 version set to take place in the Chase Center in San Francisco, the home of the Golden State Warriors.
Over the years, we have seen the All-Star Game go through several different format changes, and this year is no different.
For the first time ever, we are going to have 4 teams taking part in a mini tournament, but we will get into all of that in just a moment.
The 4 teams will be managed by Shaquille O’Neal, Kenny Smith, and Charles Barkley, while Candace Parker will take charge of the team that wins the Rising Star Challenge.
Given the changes, there are a lot of questions that need to be answered about the 2025 NBA All-Star Game, so let’s get into it and try to fill in the gaps for all you.
Writer’s Rundown on What Is Impacting NBA All-Star Roster
Which Players Were Voted into The All-Star Game?
While things may look different in terms of the playing format, all players are still voted in by conference, and they are as follows:
- Western Conference
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Stephen Curry, LeBron James, Kevin Dureant, and Nikola Jokic.
Reserves
Anthony Edwards, James Harden, Jaren Jackson Jr, Jalen Williams, Anthony Davis, Alperen Sengun, Victor Wembanyama, and Kyrie Irving.
- Eastern Conference
Jalen Brunson, Donovan Mitchell, Jayson Tatum, Giannis Atentetokounpo, and Karl-Anthony Towns.
Reserves
Jaylen Brown, Cade Cunnigham, Darius Garland, Tyler Herro, Famian Lillard, Evan Mobley, Pascal Siakam, and Trae Young.
Which Players Are Considered Major Snubs?
There is always some controversy when the final picks are revealed, as many fans believe that some worthy players missed out in favor of guys that are there on name alone as opposed to what they have delivered this season.
The biggest surprises tis year include guys like Domantas Sabonis, Jarrett Allen, and LaMelo Ball.
What is the New NBA All-Star Game Format?
We have already touched on this briefly, but let’s dig a little deeper into how the NBA All-Star Game works in 2025.
Instead of having a pair of teams, we are going to have 4 teams taking part, one of which will come from the Rising Star Challenge.
We will get into all the details of that and the other events in a moment.
We will have a pair of semi-final games, with the winner of those matchups moving on to the final.
Each game will be played in a first to 40 points format, which is a cool wrinkle that should make the games fast-paced and fun.
Who Did the Managers Draft?
We have 3 celebrity managers in place for the All-Star Game, each of whom have already made their picks via a draft.
Let’s take a look at who each manager chose to be part of their team:
- Team Shaq
LeBron James, Stephen Curry, Anthony Davis, Jayson Tatum, Kevin Durant, James Harden, Damine Lillard, and Jaylen Brown. - Team Kenny
Anthony Edwards, Jalen Brunson, Jaren Jackson Jr., Jalen Williams, Darius Garland, Evan Mobley, Cade Cunningham, and Tyler Herro. - Team Charles
Nikola Jokic, Giannis Atentetokounpo, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Victor Wembanyama, Pascal Siakam, Alperen Senguin, Karl-Anthony Towns, and Donovan Mitchell.
It is worth noting that we are likely going to see some players call out due to injury or other issues, which is where the NBA All-Star reserves could come into play.
There will almost certainly be some guys getting more time on the court than they would have expected if the top 5 vote getters in each conference were fit and ready to play.
Who Has the Best Team in NBA All-Star Game After the Draft?
If you look at the 3 teams that have been drafted, it’s tough to pick out one team that looks a good deal better than the rest.
That said, if you were pushing me to make a decision on which team I would most like to watch, I think I would be going with Team Shaq.
LeBron always seems to deliver the goods in the All-Star Game, while the rest of the guys on the team have the ability to shoot the light out on any given night.
What is the Full Schedule for the NBA All-Star Game?
There is more to All-Star Weekend than just the games featuring the league’s biggest and best stars which are impacting NBA All-Star rosters.
It is worth noting that all the action does not take place in a single building, with the Chase Center and the Oakland Arena serving as dual hosts for the events, with the Moscone Center also hosting a couple of smaller events.
It all starts on Friday and carries over into Sunday, so let’s break down the NBA All-Star Game Schedule for the weekend:
- Friday
The Castrol Rising Stars tournament will be held at the Chase Center.
This one will be played in the same format as the All-Star Game proper, with the winner moving on to play in the main tournament to be coached by Candace Parker.
The All-Star Celebrity Game, which is always a fun watch, will be held at the Oakland Arena on Friday night.
The Moscone Center will host the NBA Crossover event, while we will have the Concert Series taking place at Pier 48, with this set of shows running all weekend, so plenty of big names to listen to. - Saturday
The big event on this day is All-Star Saturday Night, which is what they are now essentially calling the skills contest.
As always, we will have the Kia Skills Challenge, the 3-point Contest, and the always incredibly popular Slam Dunk Contest.
The Okland Arena will have a couple of events to watch on Saturday, with the All-Star Practice session followed by the NBA HBCU Classic, where we will have the Morehouse College Maroon Tigers and the Tuskegee University Golden Tigers going head-to-head. - Sunday
The NBA G-League Next Up Game will be at the Moscone Center on Sunday, but all eyes will be on the 74th Annual NBA All-Star Game at the Chase Center.
When is the NBA All-Star Game and How Can I Watch?
The good NBA News for those of us that cannot attend the NBA All-Star Game festivities is that there will be blanket coverage all weekend, with TNT, TBS, and truTV handling the YV duties.
You will be able to tune into all the action, but if all you are really interested in is the actual All-Star Game, then there are 3 different times that you need to keep in mind.
As we have already mentioned, there will be 3 individual games played to decide the champions of the 2025 NBA All-Star Game, so let’s take a look at the expected start time for each:
- Semi-Final Game 1 is at 8:20 PM EST
- Semi-Final Game 2 is at 9:10 PM EST
- Final Game is at 10 PM EST
Time may change subject to a number of factors, but you can bet that they will try to adhere to these times as best they can.
Besides watching, you will also be able to wager on all kinds of different things during NBA All-Star Game Weekend, so be sure to check out what’s available and get your wagers in as quickly as possible.

How does it work?
What is the NBA All-Star? Let’s Find Out
The NBA All-Star refers to an annual exhibition basketball game organized by the National Basketball Association (NBA), featuring the league’s top players.
