The Phoenix again cut it to one at 57-56 before a Justas Stonkus three erupted TD Arena.
Elon took its first lead since 7-5 in the first half with two minutes to play and led 71-70 with 6.9 seconds to play. The Phoenix fouled Brzovic as time expired to send the senior to the free throw line and tie the contest at the end of regulation. Charleston went on a 6-0 overtime run to seal the victory, sinking 11-13 free throws in the extra frame. The Cougars caused a season-high 19 turnovers in their second OT win of the season.
Brzovic recorded his 16th career double-double with 27 points and 10 rebounds. He was named the CAA Player of the Week for the third time this season, the first player in the league to accomplish that. Brzovic averaged 23.7 points and 9.0 rebounds in a 2-1 week for the Cougars, shooting 51 percent from the floor (25-49 FG) in three 20+ point performances. Brzovic has reached double figures in scoring in seven straight contests and is the only player in the CAA to rank in the top 10 in 19.0 points per game (3rd), 8.5 rebounds per game (2nd) and 3.1 assists per game (8th).
Boyd finished with 24 points, his sixth time this season crossing the 20+ threshold. top ten in 19.0 points per game (3rd), 8.5 rebounds per game (2nd) and 3.1 assists per game (8th). CJ Fulton recorded 14 points and five assists while Lazar Djokovic grabbed 10 rebounds. Fulton leads the country in assist/turnover ratio, a stat he has led the nation in since January 11.

The Lithuanian averaged 11.3 points and 3.7 rebounds while shooting 48% from the floor in the three-game stretch. Four different Cougars are averaging double-figures: Brzovic (19.0), Boyd (14.3), Deywilk Tavarez (14.1), and AJ Smith (11.4). Tavarez, however, has been out since Jan. 18 due to injury and not likely back for this one.
“We’re thinner and we have to account to that in the way we play, but whoever plays, they still have to give effort and make good decisions on offense and we’re not doing that. The one thing you can control is the amount of effort you play with and that’s what is frustrating me right now,” Coach Chris Mack said.
Charleston is in its first season under Mack after former coach Pat Kelsey left after last season for Louisville. Mack, whose teams have participated in the NCAA Tournament in nine of his 12 seasons as a head coach, returned to coaching collegiate basketball after a two-year hiatus. He also coached at Louisville and Xavier.

Williams took the in-bound pass from Bo Montgomery after the tying shot and turned on the speed with the left-hander banking a right-handed layup off the glass. Drexel also overcame a nine-point deficit to tie the game in the final minute of regulation to send it to the first overtime period.
