Elite 8 Betting Predictions: March Madness Bracket & Upcoming Games to Win with MyBookie

We wait all year for March Madness to roll around, getting caught up in the excitement and upsets that come with every tournament. The games come quickly, though, and it is only the very best teams who ca handle the pressure and move on. The first 2 rounds moved quickly to get us to the Sweet 16, and now we are looking at the Elite 8 Betting Predictions.

We are only halfway to that point, though, as we know 4 of the teams that will be in this round, with the other games in the Sweet 16 set to be played on Friday night. We are going to look ahead and try to break down the upcoming games, with predictions for each, so let’s get to it.

Elite 8 Betting Predictions: March Madness Bracket & Upcoming Games

As we already mentioned, 4 teams have moved into the Elite 8, but there are still 4 more to come before the next round of the tournament can begin.

Let’s break down the bracket and look at the games that are coming our way in the next few days:

South Region

Auburn -455 vs Michigan +333 Odds Sweet 16

March Madness Prediction: Auburn 81-71 Michigan

All the top seeds are still alive right now, but will we see that trend continue. Auburn will try to book their passage into the Elite 8 with a win in this one, and they look to be on track after a scare in Round 1.

Auburn squeezed past UC San Diego in the opening round before delivering a much better performance in Round 2 with a comfortable win over Texas A&M.

Johni Broome has been the man to watch for the Tigers this season, leading the team in points, assists, and rebounds.

Michigan has looked very comfortable getting to this point, knocking off Alcorn State and Creighton.

They will be looking for Vladislav Goldin to lead the offense. Auburn is a 9-point favorite here, and I like them to win and cover.

Ole Miss +146 vs Michigan State -182 Odds Sweet 16

March Madness Prediction: Ole Miss 71-76 Michigan State

If there is the possibility of an upset in this region, it might well be Ole Miss that delivers it.

They got out to a strong start by beating UNC in the opening round, but they were even better in Round 2, beating #3 Iowa State by a score of 91-79.

Sean Pedulla leads this team in points and assists and will be looking to keep the offense rolling in this one.

Michigan State has not been seriously tested to this point, cruising past Bryant and New Mexico in the opening rounds without breaking too much of a sweat.

This is a team that spreads out the scoring and who do not lean heavily on one player.

Michigan State is favored by 3 ½ and I like them to win and cover.

West Region

Florida -325 vs Texas Tech +229 Odds Elite 8

Elite 8 Betting Predictions: Florida 78-74 Texas Tech

The top seed in this region is still alive, but Florida has had a scare along the way. They blew away Norfolk State in their tournament opener, but then had to battle to get past UConn by the tightest of margins, winning that one 77-75.

That seemed to serve as an eye-opener, as Florida turned up the heat in a double-digit won over Maryland. Walter Clayton Jr. is the man to watch for the Gators.

Texas Tech barely broke a sweat getting through a pair of lower seeds in the first couple of rounds, but they were pushed to the max by Arkansas in the Sweet 16, requiring OT to pick up the 85-83 win.

JT Toppin is the man that needs to be stopped on the Red Raiders. Florida is a 6 ½ point favorite here, and while I like them to win, I have Texas Tech covering.

East Region

Duke -333 vs Alabama +231 Odds Elite 8

Elite 8 Betting Predictions: Duke 86-78 Alabama

For me, this is the best of the matchups that we are covering here in this article.

In Duke, we have something of an offensive juggernaut, as they are averaging 94 PPG through the opening 3 rounds, where they have not really been put to the test.

This will be a much tougher task but look for Cooper Flagg to once again lead the offense.

The question that needs to be asked here is whether we are in for a total shootout, as Alabama has all been lighting things up on the offensive side of the court.

That was in full evidence with Alabama’s 113-89 win over BYU in the last round.

They will be looking to Mark Sears to continue his outstanding season. Duke is favored by 6 ½ here.

Midwest Region

Houston -476 vs Purdue +349 Odds Sweet 16

March Madness Prediction: Houston 76-66 Purdue

You definitely get the idea that the selection committee knows what they are doing when we reach this stage of the tournament, and all the #1 seeds are still alive.

Houston started things out with a very comfortable win over SUIE, which they then followed up with an 81-76 win over Gonzaga.

It has been LJ Cryer who has led this team in scoring this season, and he will need to be at his best against a very good Purdue team.

They eased past High Point in Round 1 before looking even better against McNeese in the previous round, but this is their toughest task yet.

Trey Kaufman-Renn has been the man for Purdue this season. Houston is an 8 ½ point favorite for this one.

Kentucky +175 vs Tennessee -217 Odds Sweet 16

March Madness Prediction: Kentucky 74-78 Tennessee

Another perfect matchup here, as well as one that is definitely going to be tough to call. Kentucky has been solid through the opening 2 rounds.

They started off with a 76-57 win over Troy before handling Illinois 84-75 in Round 2.

Truth be told, they have looked comfortable in both games, but they might become a little more uncomfortable in this one and will be hoping that Otega Oweh can do his thing.

Tennessee has made things look pretty easy to this point, too. They beat Wofford 77-62 in Round 1 before taking out UCLA 67-58 in the last round.

It has been Chaz Lanier who has been the go-to guy for the Volunteers this season. Tennessee is the 4 ½ point favorite here.

Underdogs to Watch: Teams That Could Pull Off Upsets in the Elite 8

As you can see from our predictions, we are mostly on the side of the higher seeds as we head into the Elite 8.

One team that could prove to be dangerous, though, is Ole Miss, as the #6 seed has already taken out a higher seeded team in the opening couple of rounds.

Michigan has a tough spot in this round, with top-seeded Auburn up next, but this is another one that I think has the potential to deliver something of an upset.

Insights from College Basketball Experts on Elite 8 Matchups

We do all we can to deliver winning picks for every sport that we cover, but just like everyone else, we certainly cannot guarantee that all our picks will be winners.

If you don’t know a lot about college basketball and usually only tune in during March Madness, how do you know what to wager on in the Elite 8 round?

It certainly gets a little tougher here, as we are reaching the point where teams tend to be a lot more evenly matched than they were in the earlier rounds.

One thing that you can do to get some help is to listen to what the experts are saying about the upcoming matchups.

They will almost certainly have some insights that go beyond what the trends might be saying.

We are not suggesting that you place every wager that the experts offer up, as they get stuff wrong, too, but it should be part of your overall handicapping strategy.
