It may seem hard to believe, but there are now just three weeks left in the regular season in college basketball. The battling for seeding and spots in the tournament is about to heat up dramatically with the time to make a move or get off the bubble beginning to run out. At the top of the national rankings, the Baylor Bears are looking increasingly difficult to budge, but that does not mean that they are going to be able to make it the rest of the way totally unscathed. After all, we have seen all the top teams get hit hard with unexpected losses throughout the course of what has been a very unpredictable season. There are a couple of teams waiting in the wings to take the #1 seed if the Bears do slip, with the Kansas Jayhawks one of the teams right on their heels. The Jayhawks also have their eyes on the regular season Big Ten Title, but they need to win out for that to happen. Since losing to Baylor back in early January, the Kansas Jayhawks have become unbeatable, winning 10 straight coming into this one. The downside, though, is that they are sitting a game back of Baylor in the race for the Big Ten regular season conference title, with their lone loss in conference play being that one against the Bears. They will have the rematch coming this weekend, but the focus now needs to be on this game. Looking ahead and laying an egg here could make it impossible for Kansas to catch Baylor.
