#7 Kansas State vs #8 Kansas Betting Preview & 3 Great Matches to Wager On

The rankings that came out last week saw some big changes in the top 25, which is important when you consider how close we are getting to the end of the regular season. We saw a lot of top teams lose, which makes you wonder if some are beginning to feel the pressure as we edge ever closer to March Madness. Those teams will be in the tournament, though, but we cannot say the same for all the teams that are now on the bubble. The next few weeks are going to be crazy as we see teams try to up their game and ensure a spot in the dance. The games get bigger and more meaningful at this stage of the season, so let’s look at the week ahead to find the NCAA Basketball Betting games that really jump off the page.

Top Three College Basketball Betting Opportunities for the Week (Jan. 30th – Feb 2nd )

Baylor Bears at Texas Longhorns – Monday

It wasn’t so long ago that Baylor saw their stock drop after taking 3 straight losses. This is a team that could easily have gone in the tank at that point, but they rebounded nicely and come into this week on a 6-game winning run. Texas went into last week in the top 10 in the national rankings, but I think we will see them drop a few spots in the new rankings after losing to Tennessee in their last outing. The Big 12 is ridiculously tight at the moment and could become even more so if Baylor keeps their win streak alive.

Kansas State Wildcats at Kansas Jayhawks – Tuesday

They don’t come much bigger than this rivalry, and especially so when you have both teams playing well. They both started last week in the top 10, but that could change given that they both went 1-1 last week. Kansas did close the week out with a big win over Kentucky, a victory that snapped a 3-game losing skid. Kansas State is still atop the conference with a 6-2 record in the Big 12, but Kansas can make things very interesting indeed, as a win in this one would have both teams at 6-3 in conference play.

Providence Friars at Xavier Musketeers – Wednesday

Again, we have a pair of top 25 teams going head-to-head, with this one likely to have an impact on how things play out in the Big East. Both of these teams are sitting at 9-2 in conference play and are in a 3-way tie for the lead, with Marquette also sitting with the same conference record. Providence is rolling again after a rough patch, winning 3 in a row, whole Xavier will be looking to bounce back after taking a loss to Creighton on the weekend. This is without a doubt the best matchup on the Wednesday schedule.

Washington Huskies at UCLA Bruins – Thursday

Ordinarily, you would look at how these teams look this season and pencil this in as an easy win for UCLA. The problem here is that the Bruins are on a bit of a slide, losing each of their last 2 games, a run that is going to see them slip down the rankings this week. This might be the game to get them out of that slump, though, as Washington has lost 2 of their last 3 and are just 1-5 away from home this season. Still, UCLA may be there for the taking given their current form.
