Series History
This is the only scheduled meeting between the teams this season, although they obviously could meet in the Pac-12 Tournament. They split two games last season with the one at Oregon a 90-73 Sun Devils win. Leading by three, 14-11, the Sun Devils went on a 23-5 scoring advantage over 7:25 from 14:09-6:44 in the first half and led 37-16. The Sun Devils went on a 10-2 run to start the second half and extended their lead to 56-32 with 7:06 to play. The game was over. Oregon is 17-8 against ASU under Coach Dana Altman.
Why Bet on Arizona State Sun Devils?
Arizona State (11-7, 5-2 Pac-12) snapped a two-game losing streak Saturday with an 82-67 home rout of USC. ASU forced USC into repeated turnovers and closed the first half outscoring the Trojans 20-5 and led 43-36 at intermission. In the first half alone USC committed 15 turnovers that led to 13 ASU points. USC’s 15 turnovers in a half marked the most committed by any Power 5 program in 20 minutes of action this season. The Sun Devils entered with 22% of their total points scored off opponent’s turnovers. USC would commit a season-high 22 turnovers overall and was without starting guards Isaiah Collier and Boogie Ellis due to injuries.

Four Sun Devils reached double-figures with Jose Perez scoring 20 points while shooting 50% (8-of-16) from the field. Frankie Collins also had 17 on the night, but it was his six steals that made the biggest difference. e Collins had all of his six steals in the first half and it was his third game of the season with six or more steals. Collins has a total of 56 steals on the season, which ranks third highest in D1 NCAA basketball. He is currently one of only three players in the nation averaging at least 13.9 points (1st on team), 5.0 rebounds (2nd on team), 3.7 assists (1st on team), and 3.1 steals (1st on team). Collins is stuffing the stat sheet in a historic manner while playing only 32.0 minutes per game (13th in the conference).
Jamiya Neal finished with 17 points, nine rebounds and three assists. Bryant Selebangue’s energy was essential, as he contributed a season-high 13 rebounds, including nine offensive boards, the most by a Sun Devil since Jeff Pendergraph had nine vs. Washington on Jan. 31, 2009. Selebangue is tied for sixth in the Pac-12 with 41 offensive rebounds and is one of only two in the Top-6 that have played less than 310 minutes.
It was ASU’s first regular season win against the Trojans since Feb. 8, 2020. The game also snapped Arizona State’s two-game technical foul streak. The Sun Devils entered Saturday having collected seven technical fouls in their last two contests.
The Sun Devils are looking for their second straight 6-2 start in the league. It would be the first time with back-to-back 6-2 conference starts since the 1979-80 & 1980-81 seasons. Thanks to their wins over Stanford and Cal, ASU is off to a 2-1 start in league play on the road this season. Arizona State has won 10 of their past 15 on the road in the conference dating back to Feb. 23, 2022, the second-best record of any team during that span (UCLA, 12-6).
After going 12-5 in games decided by six points or less (two possessions) last year, the Sun Devils are 5-2 in such games so far this season.

Why Bet on Oregon Ducks?
Oregon (13-5, 5-2 Pac-12) enters off back-to-back losses but both were on the road – the Ducks lost 80-77 at a very good Utah team on Sunday. In its last meeting against Oregon at home in the Pac-12 Era, Utah picked up just its third win over the Ducks since joining the league.

The Utes’ Deivon Smith took the game into his own hands with a 9-0 run by himself – including back-to-back triples — to give the Runnin’ Utes a 72-67 edge with 2:02 to play. Oregon got within a point of the Utes twice before Cole Bajema iced the game with four-straight free-throws to give the Utes the victory. Utah showed lots of poise in the final 12 minutes of play finding high-percentage shots by knocking down 11-of-14 from the field while Oregon was 9-for-23 during that same stretch.
Jermaine Couisnard had 26 points to lead the Ducks. He missed on a drive to the hoop with 12 seconds left and N’Faly Dante couldn’t get a putback to drop either; Dante finished with 23 points and 10 rebounds, and made 1-of-2 free throws with Oregon down 78-76 and 2 seconds left.
Four-star freshman Mookie Cook will not play this week against the Arizona schools. Per head coach Dana Altman, Cook tweaked his foot against Utah which will keep him off the court. Cook, who did not make his season debut until Jan. 4 due to an ankle injury, was in a walking boot at practice this week.
Since Oregon will be without Cook to come off the bench, Keeshawn Barthelemy, Jadrian Tracey, and Kario Oquendo will be the leaders of the Ducks’ second unit. Against Utah, the Oregon bench had only 16 points, which allowed the Utes to build a lead when the starters were off the floor.
However, junior Nate Bittle is set to return to the court this week after missing more than two months due to injury. Bittle returned to practice last week and Altman thought he might be available to play in the Ducks’ road games against Colorado and Utah. But he ultimately did not see the floor in either game.
Bittle, a 7-foot center, who was expected to start for the Ducks this season, has been sidelined since suffering a broken wrist on Nov. 18. In three games this season, he is averaging 13.0 points, 6.0 rebounds, and 1.7 blocks. Guard Brennan Rigsby is shooting 46.4% from three-point range, ranking 5th in the Pac-12.
The Ducks hold a 159-83 (.654) record in the conference with Coach Dan Altman at the helm. UO ranks 3rd overall in conference wins since 2010-11, also ranking third in home wins with 94.
