The first full week of college basketball is nearly behind us as we are slowly working our way out of the huge spreads and into games that are somewhat easier to wager on.
While the weekend slate leaves a lot to be desired, it does provide us with a couple of nice opportunities to make money. Here are three games to bet on this weekend. Let’s get right to it so you don’t miss your chance to bet against their NCAA Basketball Odds.
College Basketball Top Betting Predictions for Nov. 12th & 13th Matches
Wright State Raiders at Louisville Cardinals
The Raiders took Davidson to double overtime before eventually falling by a count of 102-97 in their season opener. Senior guard Trey Calvin scored a team-high 37 points in the loss, while three other Wright State players scored in double figures in the contest.
It was never really a question as to whether or not Calvin would shoulder the scoring load; the question was whether Wright State could win following the departures of Tanner Holden and Grant Basile.
Wright State certainly has an opportunity to write some headlines against the Cardinals, who fell in their season opener to Bellarmine. Louisville kicked off the Kenny Payne era by allowing the Knights to score on 1.08 points per possession while forcing just 11 turnovers in the game.
Louisville shot very well from deep, but there are serious question marks throughout this roster once you get past Jae’Lyn Withers and El Ellis. Mike James, a top 100 recruit in the 2022 class, scored 16 points in the opener and may be the player Louisville needs consistency from if they are going to be successful.
Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets vs Georgia State Panthers
Cross-town rivals will hook up on Saturday when the Yellow Jackets travel across town to the GSU Convocation Center to take on Georgia State.
The Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets looked dreadful in the first half of their season-opening victory over division two Clayton State playing to a halftime tie at 34. They were able to turn it on in the second half for an eventual 30-point win with six players in double figures, including Rodney Howard, who logged a 15-13 double-double.
Georgia State was also victorious in its season opener against Coastal Georgia by a 76-59 score. The Panthers were led by Ja’Heim Hudson and Xavier transfer Dwon Odom with 16 points apiece. Odom, a former top 100 recruit, followed coach Jonas Hayes back to the state of Georgia and is a power six level talent in the “Funbelt.”
Of possible interest, Georgia State recorded 17 offensive rebounds in their opener, while the Yellow Jackets surrendered 14 offensive rebounds to Clayton State in theirs.
Youngstown State Penguins vs Notre Dame Fighting Irish
This matchup may not jump off of the page at you, but this is an early favorite to be a Sunday upset.
Youngstown State is a very experienced team led by three seniors and a junior, including transfers Malek Green and Adrian Nelson, who are both performing at a high level for the 2-0 Penguins. YSU has connected on 15 triples in their first two games and shooting 42% from deep as a team.
Notre Dame is also an experienced group, but dating back to 2018, the Nate Laszewski/Dane Goodwin combination has been anything but consistent.
Though this senior duo is 44-5 straight up as the home favorite in their time on campus, they are just 25-23-1 against the spread in those games. Included in the ATS failures is their three-point victory over Radford on Thursday night.
The Irish only played six players, only forced six Highlander turnovers, and surrendered ten offensive rebounds. Under coach Jerrod Calhoun the Penguins are 37-36-1 against the spread in true road games. This game may be worth a Youngstown State moneyline sprinkle.
