NCAA Basketball Betting Predictions for 2024 Conference Winners

As we head into the final weeks of the college basketball season, it’s natural to start looking ahead to March Madness and thinking about your bracket. 2024 NCAA Basketball Betting | MyBookie Sportsbook Week 16 NCAAB | Predict the NCAA Basketball Conference Winners

Before we get to that point, though, there are still a lot of things to be decided, as we don’t yet even know which teams will win their respective conferences. The battles in all 32 conferences are still raging on, with many looking as though they are going to go all the way down to the wire. Even if we knew the regular season champions in each conference, we still wouldn’t know the final bracket, as teams can still help their cause in the conference tournaments. In this piece, we are going to look at the bigger conferences and try to figure out who will win the regular season crown, so let’s dive right in and do that to consider in your NCAAB betting plans.

American Athletic Conference

The USF Bulls have the lead here, but things are tight at the top, with 3 other teams all sitting within 3 games of the leaders. The Charlotte 49ers are a game out of first and have the best shot at running down the Bulls, but there is a problem there for all the teams sitting off the pace, which is that USF has currently won 11 in a row and is showing no sign of slowing down. Gotta go with the Bulls here.

Atlantic 10 Conference

Maybe not the largest or best-known conference out there, but it’s one with arguably the best race going on. Dayton and Loyola are tied at the top, but Richmond is just a half game back of the top 2.The Dayton Flyers are the only ranked team in the top 3, but It is the Loyola Chicago Ramblers with all the momentum at the moment, winning 6 in a row. They have a meeting with Dayton coming up that could decide everything, and it’s on home court. Advantage Loyola.

Atlantic Coast Conference

No surprise to see UNC and Duke once again going head-to-head at the top of the conference standings. The Tar Heels are a half game up on Duke, but the Blue Devils appearing to be hitting their stride at just the right time, winning 4 in a row. They have a pretty easy run to the final game, which comes against UNC, so they could have it all locked up by then.

Big 12 Conference

The Houston Cougars are a game up at the top, but when you consider that this team has only lost 3 games all season, it’s hard to imagine them tossing this one away so close to the finish line.

Big East Conference

UConn is coming off a surprising loss on Tuesday night, but even with that defeat, they are still 3 games clear at the top of the conference and appear to be cruising. The bigger picture is whether they can maintain their #1 ranking overall.

Big Ten Conference

Purdue is just a game and a half up on Wisconsin at this late stage of the proceedings, and while they could still give up that lead, it does seem highly unlikely at this point. Purdue should wrap the conference up sooner rather than later.

Mid-American Conference

We have a 3-team race going on here, with Akron, Toledo, and Central Michigan all separated by a single game. Akron and Toledo are tied at the top, but I think Toledo might take this given that the Zips have lost 2 of their last 3 and appear to be in a bit of a mini slump.

Mountain West Conference

We have a pair of ranked teams in San Diego State and Colorado in this conference, but neither of them looks likely to win the regular season crown, although the Aztecs are within a game of the lead. Utah State Aggies and Boise are battling it out for the top spot, and I like the Aggies to go on and win it.

Ohio Valley Conference

Easily the tightest race in all 32 conferences, as we have 4 teams separated by a half game at the top of the standings. Morehead State looked to have this thing locked up tight, but they have now lost 3 in a row and are clinging to their lead for dear life. The team that looks most likely to run them down in the stretch run is the Little Rock Trojans, who have moved to within a half game of the top spot after winning 5 in a row.

PAC-12 Conference

It looks like we are down to a 2-horse race in the PAC-12, with Arizona on top, just a half game ahead of Washington State, Both teams are on impressive win streaks at the moment, and while we may need to go all the way to the final game to get the eventual winner, I think it will be the Arizona Wildcats that hold on and win the regular season title.

Southeastern Conference

The SEC is stacked this season, with no less than 6 teams currently sitting in the top 25. Given that stat, it’s not surprising that things are pretty tight at the top of the conference standings. Alabama has the lead at the moment, but they are just a half game up on the Tennessee Volunteers, so there is still some work to be done before the Crimson Tide can win the regular season title, which is what I think they will do.

Sun Belt Conference

Another great battle happening in this conference, although we do not have any teams currently ranked in the top 25. What we do have, though, is 3 teams separated by a single game. Appalachian State has the lead right now, but James Madison and Troy are right there with them. James Madison is the interesting team in this bunch, as they are closing out the season on a hot run of form, winning 6 in a row to get within a game of the lead. Can they continue rolling and steal the regular season crown?

2018 Predictions Conference Winners

Predict the NCAA Basketball 2018 Conference Winners

With NCAA Basketball Championship week coming up in a mere matter of days, NCAAB Betting enthusiasts everywhere need to know who the most likely winners are of this year’s conference championships. Thanks to my expert college hoops analysis on seven of this postseason’s conference championship tournaments, you’re going to have a great idea of where to place your betting bucks. Now, let’s get down to business.

AAC

Cincinnati is the favorite at +160 and the Bearcats are very, very good this season as they rank second in points allowed nationally. Unfortunately, Cincy is going down and going down hard against a Wichita State team (+200) that I have pegged to reach the Final Four.

ACC

At +200 Duke is the favorite and North Carolina is a +500 pick, but I’m completely stunned that the top team in the nation, No. 1 Virginia at +320 isn’t the favorite, seeing as how they’ve got the nation’s best defense and have beaten both, Duke and Carolina already this season while holding the Tar Heels to a mind-boggling 49 points in the process.

Big 12

Kansas is the clear-cut favorite at +180, but I really like West Virginia at +350 to pull off the conference championship upset seeing as how the Mountaineers want some serious revenge for getting ‘cheated’ out of a win against the Jayhawks with some seriously shoddy officiating when they met just a few weeks ago.

Big East

Villanova is the favorite at +250 and they’ll definitely beat out No. 2 favorite Xavier at +300, if they reach the conference championship, seeing as how they completely own the Musketeers and have beaten them twice this season. The Big longshot here for me is St, John’s at +900 or maybe Seton hall at +600. I’m going with Nova for the win and St. John’s as my second pick people!

Big Ten

Michigan State is the +150 favorite and they’ll win the Big ten – if Purdue, at +175 doesn’t upset them, which I can see happening. I’m also going to say that it’s not out of the question that Michigan, at +550, upsets both legitimate national championship favorites. In the end, though, I’m going Michigan State.

Pac-12

Despite the fact that I’ve already gone on record to predict that Arizona could get bounced out of the NCAA Tournament in the first round, I think the Wildcats are the undeniable pick to win the Pac-12 over all of their conference challengers like USC and UCLA in what is clearly a mediocre down Pac-12 this season. The Wildcats have a pair of sure-fire NBA performers in DeAndre Ayton and Allonzo Trier and that alone will be enough to carry them to the conference title this year.

SEC

The favored Kentucky Wildcats (+600) are playing their best basketball of the season at just the right time. Having said that, I like Joh Calipari’s star-studded squad of high school All American to win the SEC crown this year to give themselves some serious momentum heading into March madness where I suspect, they’ll be a very tough out once again this postseason, much like they were a year ago!
