You may be looking at the March Madness title of this piece and now be reading this, waiting for the surefire NCAA Basketball Championship Pick that will have made you a ton of money once the Championship Game has been played.
What we are really going to be talking about here is how to determine the pick for any game that you are sure will win. There is zero guarantee that you will be correct, but that is the possibility for every single bet that you make.
NCAA Basketball Championship Pick to Win this 2025
The goal here is to help you get to the point where you feel like the pick you are making is absolutely the correct one.
With all of that said, let’s break everything down, including how the remaining teams got to this point.
What Is a Sure Pick in NCAA Championship Betting?
There are a lot of pundits and bettors who are more than happy to tell you, and sometimes sell you, a pick that they believe cannot lose.
The harsh reality is that making money in sports betting is more about money management than it is about being right all the time.
No one can be sure that the pick they are making will be correct, but what you can be is SURE that the wagers you are placing on the NCAAB National Championship Game are as good as they can be.
If you have put in the work, your chances of winning will be better than those who rely on so-called lock bets from pundits and supposed betting pros.
^Key Betting Factors You Need To Consider
In your quest to find the perfect sure pick for the NCAA Basketball Championship Game, there are several factors that need to be considered, so let’s quickly break them down:
Matchups
At this stage of the proceedings, there tends to be very little separating the remaining teams. There is a good chance that the final four have not played one another very often, so the matchups you need to be paying attention to is essentially by position. Does one team have an edge over the other in those player matchups?
Injuries
There is a good chance that a lot of players are carrying niggling little injuries at this point, but you should be keeping an eye on the injury reports, getting an idea of just how serious things might be.
Seeding
This does not really come into play this season, as the remaining 4 teams are all the #1 seeds in their regions.
Tournament Performance
Now, this does have a bearing on things, as we can get an idea whether teams are in full flow or are struggling to pick up wins to get to this point.

The odds for the Championship Game will not be set up, the Final Four games have been played on Saturday. What we do have, though, are the odds to win it all, which could give you some insight into how things might play out. Here are the current odds:
^Breaking Down the NCAA Championship Game Favorites
It has been another great tournament, but it is one that has perhaps been a little more predictable than most.
Sure, we have had some upsets along the way, but when you have all the #1 seeds making it to this point, you have to say that things have gone mostly according to plan.
Here is how each of the Final Four teams made it to this point:
Duke Blue Devils
Duke went into the East Regions as the #1 seed and started things out with a very comfortable 93-49 win over Mount St. Mary’s in Round 1. They then had to face #9 Baylor. That one went according to plan, too, with Duke rolling to an 89-66 win.
Things got a little tougher in the next round, and the Duke offense needs to be at their best, rolling past #4 Arizona by a score of 100-93.
The expectation was that it would be much tougher for the Blue Devils in the Elite 8 against #2 Alabama, but they made things look very easy, rolling to an 85-65 win. To this point, Duke has not had to break too much sweat.

Florida Gators
The Gators were installed as the top seed in the West Region, but their path to the Final Four has not been quite as smooth as the road Duke took.
It was, as you would expect, an easy opening round for Florida, blowing past Norfolk State by a score of 95-69. Round 2 was not smooth at all, as the Gators clung on for a 77-75 win over UConn.
They bounced back from that close one to record a much more comfortable win over #4 Maryland, winning that one 87-71. They had another close call in the last round, taking out #3 Texas Tech by a score of 84-79.
^Houston Cougars
The Cougars went into the Midwest Region as the #1 seed and used great defensive play to make it all the way to the Final Four.
Houston held SIUE to just 40 points in the opening round, winning that one 78-40.
Things were a little trickier in Round 2, with Houston beating #8 Gonzaga 81-76 in that one before bringing back the D for the next two rounds.
They squeezed past #4 Purdue by a score of 62-60 before putting on a defensive clinic in a 69-50 win over Tennessee in the Elite 8. If that defense can continue to roll, this team has to be seen as a threat.
^Auburn Tigers
Playing as the #1 seed in the South Region, the Auburn Tigers had a relatively smooth path through to the Final Four.
They opened things up with a comfortable 83-63 win over Alabama State in Round 1. That was followed by a matchup against #9 Creighton, with the Tigers running out 82–70 winners in that one.
Next up, they faced #5 Michigan, winning 78-65 to move on and face #2 Michigan State.
Auburn won that one 70-64 and are now just one more win away from a spot in the National Championship Game.
^Potential Sure Pick for This Year’s NCAA Title Game
Looking at the Final Four, the sure pick that seems to jump out at you is the Duke Blue Devils winning it all this season.
They have looked dominant from start to finish, but you could also argue that they have not had to face any real adversity, making you wonder how they might react if things aren’t going their way over the next 2 games, assuming that they can even get past the Houston Cougars.
In terms of a longshot pick, I’m not so sure that there is such a thing right now, as you could easily make an argument for all 4 teams going on to end the season as the college basketball National Champion.
^Common Mistakes to Avoid in Championship Game Betting
It’s easy to get caught up in the excitement of a championship and potentially get caught up in wagers that you ordinarily wouldn’t play.
Here are some of the common betting mistakes that you need to avoid if you want to end up with a pick that you are SURE of on game night:
^Ignoring Matchup Stats
You have to look at every statistical matchup to find potential edges that can turn your bets into winning ones. Every team has at least one chink in their armor, but can their opponent find a way to expose that frailty and take advantage.
Emotional Betting
Let’s imagine that the team you picked to win from the start is still there. It seems logical to ride them all the way to the end, but would you do that if you knew that their opponent had a definite edge in a number of different factors? Your head should always overcome your heart when you wager.
Overvaluing Favorites
The bookies are great at setting odds, but they are never totally correct across the board. Is the big game favorite deserving the odds they have going into the game or have the bookies overvalued them? This is where you can find an edge and exploit those odds.
