March Madness Elite 8 Betting Analysis: #15 St. Peter’s vs #8 North Carolina Preview

St. Peter’s Peacocks Notes

What a great story we have on our hands this year at the NCAA Tournament. A 15 seed has shocked the world and advanced to the Elite Eight with three big wins. The most impressive win was in the first round over the Kentucky Wildcats when it took overtime for the Peacocks to pull it out.

When you think of Cinderella stories, Florida Gulf Coast, UMBC, Loyola-Chicago, and many other teams come to mind, but put St. Peter’s at the top of the list now. Looking past their play, it is incredible to see how St. Peter’s got to this point with the obstacles they have faced.

With being a small mid-major college from New Jersey, there has not been a lot of funding for the program. Many bills have been unpaid for some time; the players could not play music during workout because the weight room is next to a classroom, and they have had to cancel games because of leaks in the gym. It has been an unbelievable run for St. Peter’s, and this is going to do so much for the university.

North Carolina Tar Heels Notes

One of college basketball’s blue bloods is back this year. We have three blue bloods left in the tournament with the Duke Blue Devils, the Kansas Jayhawks, and North Carolina.

Hubert Davis has taken his team to the Elite Eight in his first year as head coach of the Tar Heels. The former player himself at North Carolina is trying to bring back a National Championship to his alma mater.

North Carolina has won nine of their last ten games coming into the Elite Eight matchup, but all the pressure is on them, as they are the favorite in this fourth-round game. If the Tar Heels win, they could set up a matchup that the college basketball world would love against the Duke Blue Devils.

Caleb Love has been big in the NCAA Tournament for North Carolina. He led the way in the win over UCLA with a 30 point performance.

North Carolina is peaking at the right time of the season, and much is due to the play of Love. Who would have thought that the 8 seed Tar Heels would have the pressure on in the Elite Eight?
