Also, this takes place in KC and the Chiefs get the extra few days of rest.

This one can go either way.
Both quarterbacks can get it done.
The main difference, and it’s not often that I write this, is home field where Tua is much, much better than he is on the road.
Also, Allen and the Bills had a rough start to the season in 2023.
So if they repeat that this season, the Fins should get it done.
Tagovailoa wins the first duel versus JA.
Chicago at Houston – Williams vs Stroud

What an intriguing quarterback matchup.
Rookie Caleb Williams couldn’t have asked for a better group of wide receivers and a strong offensive line to get his NFL career off to a flying start.
C.J. Stroud, though, is already one of the top quarterbacks in the league.
He’s got Mahomes-like skills.
What impresses more than the skills is Stroud’s leadership abilities.
The man pumps up his players like a 10-year vet.
This will be a good learning experience for Caleb but Stroud wins.
Atlanta at Philadelphia – Cousins vs Hurts

One of the top dual-threat quarterbacks in the NFL versus one of the league’s best drop back passers should make for a great Monday Night Football.
Kirk Cousins has been one of the best QBs in the past decade.
Hurts is showing that 2024 is a big bounce back season.
He was on point in the win over the Eagles.
This can go either way, though, because the ATL has a good defense and Philly counts on Saquon a lot.

Both quarterbacks have a lot to prove this NFL season.
Deshaun Watson has yet to play a full season without injury or suspension since signing a massive contract with the Browns.

For Trevor, it’s time to put up or shut up.

Lawrence has more pressure but he also has home field.
What he doesn’t have is that fantastic Cleveland defense led by Myles Garrett to bail him out if he makes a mistake.

Baker Mayfield is one of the fiercest competitors to ever put on football gear.
The man goes all out in every game.
He deserves a lot of props.
But Baker may struggle versus a better than it looks on paper Detroit defense.
Not only that, Goff has become a steady quarterback, one that can get it done in any situation.
I picked the Lions to win the Super Bowl this season.
So their QB should have no trouble handling the Buccaneers on Sunday Night Football.

Looking At the Quarterback Matchups in Week 2 of the NFL Season
Los Angeles Chargers vs Kansas City Chiefs: Pick – Chargers +3.5
If you want fireworks, the Thursday night game this week will have you covered. The Los Angeles Chargers look like contenders in the AFC, and the Kansas City Chiefs are just fine after losing Tyreek Hill this offseason. The Chargers and Chiefs usually combine for a good game when the two teams meet.
In the week one win for the Chargers, Justin Herbert completed 26 passes on 34 attempts for 279 yards. Herbert threw for three touchdowns and had no turnovers. The consistent performance all day from Herbert and the offense was a key part of the victory over the Las Vegas Raiders.
Patrick Mahomes looked just fine on Sunday afternoon in the route over the Arizona Cardinals. Mahomes threw for 360 yards and five touchdowns. It was a big statement win for the Chiefs, especially after fans doubted the Chiefs all offseason.
In this game, we will take the Chargers and Justin Herbert but mainly due to the Los Angeles defense. The Chargers are +3.5 favorites on the spread.
Carolina Panthers vs New York Giants: Pick – Giants -2.5
The Carolina Panthers, led by Baker Mayfield, travel to New York to take on the Giants in week two. Mayfield and the Panthers dropped a close game to the Cleveland Browns in week one. The Giants, led by Saquon Barkley and Brian Daboll, snatched up a week one win over the Tennessee Titans.
This could be a long year for the Panthers and Mayfield, as we expect the Giants to win this game and improve to 2-0 on the season. There is a different vibe around the Giants team after their impressive week one victory.
This could be a big week for Daniel Jones and the Giants. After an interception earlier in the game, Jones was much better and helped lead the Giants to a game-winning drive.
We like the Giants to cover the 2.5-point spread in this week’s game.
Miami Dolphins vs Baltimore Ravens: Pick – Ravens -3.5
Both teams performed well in their week one games and walked away with a win. The Miami Dolphins picked up a divisional win over the New England Patriots, while the Baltimore Ravens blew out the New York Jets.
The Dolphins picked up the win in Miami last year over the Ravens. Baltimore is healthy this season and ready to get back at the Dolphins for their win last season. We are going to ride with Lamar Jackson and the Ravens this week to cover 3.5 points.
