Two teams headed in opposite directions will face off on Sunday. The Indianapolis Colts are having another disappointing season. At 4-7-1, the preseason favorites to win the AFC South will need a miracle to make the playoffs. Jeff Saturday’s hire as head coach provided a small spark, but that spark has now fizzled out, and the Colts are headed nowhere.
Their opponents on Sunday are the 8-3 Dallas Cowboys. Ever since Dak Prescott returned from injury, the Cowboys have been on a roll.
With one of the league’s best defenses and an offense that seems to get better every day, the Cowboys have a fair shot at making a Super Bowl run.
On Sunday afternoon, these two will meet in “Jerry World” as the Cowboys host the Colts. It’s now time to preview both teams, and we’ll also give you our NFL Betting prediction for this one.
NFL Week 13 Betting Preview for Indianapolis Colts at Dallas
Indianapolis Colts
With a fourth starting quarterback in four seasons, an offensive line in disarray, and an offense that is struggling to score points, the Colts are a team with a lot of issues.
Running back Jonathan Taylor had a huge 2021 season, but injury has sidelined him for much of the season, and even in his return, he still hasn’t looked the same. With an offensive line that’s not giving him much help and two quarterbacks that have been mostly ineffective, it’s not hard to see why the Colts are struggling.
The defense has done its part. This defense is ranked in the league’s top 10 in many different categories. Unfortunately for this unit, the offense has placed them in many tough situations, and they end up giving up points due to the ineffectiveness of the offense.
Dallas Cowboys
Not only is the Dallas defense very good, but the offense has also had a very good season. With Zeke Elliott playing well, along with Tony Pollard, the Cowboys‘ offense has things going.
Dak Prescott has developed great chemistry with CeeDee Lamb, along with tight end Dalton Schultz, to help spark the Cowboys’ passing game. This offense is scoring a lot of points, and teams are having a hard time stopping them.
Speaking of stopping someone, that doesn’t seem to be an issue for the Dallas defense. With arguably the best defensive player in the league, Micah Parsons, leading the way, this defense is one of the league’s best. They have a very good secondary and a defensive line that can slow a team’s rushing game way down.
Prediction
The Cowboys have been made a 10.5-point favorite. In looking at some betting numbers, all signs point to the Cowboys. Dallas is 7-0 against the spread in its last seven December games.
They are also 4-1 against the spread in their last five games. With Dallas having things running on all cylinders and the Colts being in a tough state right now, we can’t pick against Dallas.
We have the Cowboys winning by 14 points and covering the 10.5-point spread in the process.
