2023 Denver Broncos Offense In-Depth Betting Analysis | MyBookie NFL Preview
Denver Broncos: 54th season in the NFL
Owner: Walton-Penner family group
Head Coach: Sean Payton
Home Field: Empower Field at Mile High | Denver, Colorado
Super Bowl Odds: +4100
Odds to win AFC: +2600
Odds to win AFC West: +550
Broncos’ Offensive Changes During the Offseason
Denver convinced Sean Payton, the former New Orleans Saints head coach, to end his retirement and join the Broncos. Payton led the Saints to a Super Bowl victory in 2010. It was no small feat because New Orleans had been one of the worst sports franchises in history.
The Broncos got a master. Payton is also one of the best play callers in history, which is a good thing because Denver ranked dead last in points per game in 2022.
Denver Broncos Quarterbacks Analysis
At one point, many NFL analysts and fans considered Russell Wilson the best quarterback in the league. Wilson is a Super Bowl winner who was often at the top of the NFL in completion percentage, yards, and touchdowns.
The Broncos had so much confidence in Wilson that they bankrupted their future to attract the former Seahawk. Russell’s first season in Denver was a disaster.
If any head coach can get something out of his quarterback, though, it’s Sean Payton.
Denver Broncos Offensive Line Analysis
The Broncos boast a top 15 offensive line. The O-line might be one of the reasons Payton decided to take the Denver job.
Garrett Boles is one of the top left tackles in the league. Right tackle Mike McGlinchey is also one of the beast at his position. Payton will have a strategy to get the most out of the unit.
Denver Broncos wide receivers room analysis
Jerry Jeudy, Courtland Sutton, and Tim Patrick make for a solid starting three. If you play fantasy football, consider drafting Jeudy.
At New Orleans, Payton often leaned on a single wide receiver. No doubt, Sutton and Patrick will get looks, but Sean’s going to develop the Wilson to Jeudy connection.
Denver Broncos Running Backs Room Analysis
If Javonte Williams is one-hundred percent healthy, and if he hasn’t lost any speed due to the injury, he will post monster numbers. Payton loves the rushing attack.
So Williams, who is the Broncos best RB, will get carries, rack up yards, and should score plenty of touchdowns.
Denver Points Scored & Yards Per Game Range Prediction
There is no way Denver doesn’t boast a better offense than last season. The Broncos only averaged 325 total yards per game in 2022. This season, Payton gets the offense rolling enough so that it averages at least 370 and up to 400.
When it comes to points per game, Denver will significantly increase their average. The Ponies scored less than 17 points per game in 2022. In 2023, the Broncos score 20 to 24 points per game. The range is wide, but Payton may go to a rushing attack if Wilson has lost a step.
Broncos Yard Per Game Range: 370 – 400
Broncos Points Scored Range: 20 – 24
Sean Payton to Win Coach of the Year: +1050
No matter where he’s gone, Sean Payton has had success. The reason is because Payton is flexible.
When Drew Brees was at the top of his game, Sean had an offensive system that relied on throwing the football and moving fast.
But when Drew lost some of his skill, Payton leaned on a rushing attack that led the league in yards per game. Expect the latter for the Broncos.
Either way, Payton is an excellent pick to win Coach of the Year. The schedule is tough, but Sean outcoaches most of his peers. So the Broncos will boast a winning record and make the playoffs this season.
