Panthers come in off 5-game losing streak vs. Commanders, 8-point favorites in Week 7

Prior to the start of the season, every team in the NFL comes in with some level of expectation.

You need only look at the bookies projected win totals for each team to get an idea of what the expectations might be for each of them.

My NFL Betting Analysis in the Week 7

As is the case with every season, some teams will meet or exceed those expectations, while others will fall short.

While a good team tends to be strong from top to bottom and be mostly free of holes, the best teams are the ones that have an elite QB under center.

Every time a team brings in a new QB, they have to believe that they have their man, but things rarely turn out that way.

This matchup features a pair of teams with very different QB situations. The Commanders are in as an 8 point favorite, with the total set at 51 ½.

Carolina Panthers Odds +295

Speaking of QBs, the Panthers have been forced to make a change in the early going. Bryce Young, who started his 2nd season in the league this season, has been benched in favor of veteran gunslinger Andy Dalton.

He has helped steady the ship somewhat and is making the Panthers more competitive, but the end result is pretty much still the same.

Carolina has now lost 3 in a row to fall to 1-5, well off the pace being set at the top of the NFC South.

This figures to be a very long season for the Panthers, but can they make things a little more respectable?

I’m not so sure if it happens this weekend, as this is a team that has just 1 win in their last 12 trips away from home.

They are 1-7 ATS in their last 8 overall and 0-6 ATS in their last 6 versus the NFC East.

The UNDER has hit in each of their last 7 visits to Washington.

Washington Commanders Odds -391

Things are going in a completely different direction for the Washington Commanders, who appears to have found their QB in Jayden Daniels.

He started strong in his rookie season and seems to be getting better with each passing week, which is bad news for the teams he will face the rest of the way.

The Commanders are coming off a loss last weekend, but they are still 4-2 this season, which has them sitting atop the NFC East, which is not as strong as many of us expected.

The Commanders have a real shot at winning the division, but they need to maintain their levels in games like this one, where they are heavily favored to win.

They are just 2-9 SU in their last 11 conference games, but this is a new season. The Commanders are 4-0-1 ATS in their last 5 overall.

Panthers at Commanders Betting Prediction in NFL Week 7

I fully expect the Commanders to dominate and come away with the win here, so I am more than happy to take them to win and cover.

I’m on the fence with the point total, so I will be sitting that one out.

Carolina Panthers 13, Washington Commander 30
