NFL 2021 Season: Raiders vs Colts Odds, Analysis & Prediction

The Las Vegas Raiders (8-7) will travel to Lucas Oil Stadium to take on the Indianapolis Colts (9-6) for a Week 17 matchup in the AFC. Both teams picked up wins in week 16 with the Raiders coming off a big division victory over the Broncos 17-13, while the Colts went on the road and knocked off the Cardinals 22-16.

Playoff hopes are on the line for both teams in this matchup so this should be an all-out brawl. If the Colts win, they are in. The Raiders, on the other hand, need to win out and need some help too if they want a taste of the postseason. That being said, let’s see how these teams stack up in their Sunday matchup so you can get ready to make your bets against their NFL Odds

NFL Betting Preview for Las Vegas Raiders at Indianapolis

Las Vegas Raiders Betting Preview: Raiders Enter Road Match in Must-Win Situation

After back-to-back wins, the Raiders are right back in the thick of things and are potentially two wins from the playoffs. It seems crazy to think about all that has happened to Vegas this year and the fact that they were sitting at 6-7 just a few weeks ago. Coach Rich Bisaccia has done a tremendous job helping this team regroup and they might have caught the Colts at the right time.

It wasn’t pretty but the Raiders snuck a win in Denver to stay alive in the stacked AFC playoff hunt. Las Vegas leaned on the legs of Josh Jacobs who had his best game of the season, eclipsing the 100 yard mark while averaging 4.8 yards per carry. The Raiders have struggled on third downs completing just seven of 23 in their last two games, and need Derek Carr to start playing better as he’s tossed an interception in each of his last three games.

Defensively, the Raiders finally got back on track as they dominated the Broncos holding them to 158 yards and just 18 rushing yards. Despite not having a takeaway, the Raiders played much better and have held opponents under 17 points in three of their last four games.

Indianapolis Colts Betting Preview: Colts Hit Hard By Covid, Hope to get Wentz Back

The Colts control their own destiny moving forward, all they have to do is take out the Raiders at home in week 17 and they’re headed to the AFC playoffs. This matchup will be tough, however, as Indy is dealing with a COVID-19 outbreak that could leave them without several starters including their quarterback Carson Wentz.

Be that as it may, the Colts continue to put the league on notice as they secured their sixth victory in their last seven contests. Their last time out they handled one of the NFC’s best on the road in Arizona. Although they were without several starters, the defensive unit limited one of the top offenses in football to just 16 points.

Similarly, the offense has been rolling thanks to their MVP candidate Johnathan Taylor at running back. Although he had a “quiet” day rushing for 108 yards with no score, the running back has found the endzone a ridiculous 19 times in his last 12 games. Carson Wentz’s play has been overshadowed by Taylor, as the veteran has 26 passing touchdowns to jsutw six interceptions on the year. Frank Reich has this offense cooking and they will be a force to reckon with.

This will be an interesting matchup with the Raiders defense playing pretty well and question marks on the offensive side for the Colts. I don’t buy the Raiders play after facing a terrible Broncos and a struggling Browns offense. Their offense alone hasn’t topped 17 points in their last four outings.

That being said, I don’t care who is at quarterback for the Colts, Frank Reich has been so creative and will find ways to get the ball in the hands of his best playmaker Johnathan Taylor. Additionally, the Colts are 10-5 against the spread this year and they should put out all the stops to make sure they get in the playoffs in this one.

Free Pick: Colts -7
