If you want must-see football on Sunday, this is the game for you. Fans and haters of both Tom Brady and Aaron Rodgers will be tuning in to see these quarterbacks battle it out on the gridiron. The Green Bay Packers travel south to Tampa Bay to take on the Buccaneers this Sunday.
After a rough start to the season, the Packers bounced back with a win in week two against the Chicago Bears. The offense is still facing issues and inconsistencies but if anyone is going to figure it out, Rodgers and the Packers will. Green Bay will need a big offensive performance to have a chance in this game on Sunday.
The Buccaneers faced issues of their own in week two but prevailed over their division rivals, the New Orleans Saints. After a rough offseason for Brady, he has his team 2-0 heading into this week three matchup. The defense has been a big part of the early success by Tampa Bay. Let’s take a closer look at the upcoming matchup between Packers and Buccaneers so you can bet against their NFL Odds.
NFL Green Bay Packers vs Tampa Bay Buccaneers Betting Preview for Week 3
Green Bay Packers Notes
It was a very rough offseason for the Green Bay Packers and Aaron Rodgers. Rodgers signed a three-year contract extension back in March. If Rodgers complained about not having help around him offensively, that is more of an issue after the departure of DeVante Adams.
It is not uncommon for Rodgers to struggle in week one, and that was the case again this season as the Packers traveled to Minnesota to play the Vikings. Minnesota scored on the opening drive, and Green Bay had a chance to respond when Christian Watson dropped what would have been a 75-yard touchdown pass. Rodgers is still working through the kinks with a young receiving core.
The one positive thing going on for the Packers offense is the run game. Green Bay has two wonderful options in the backfield with Aaron Jones and A.J. Dillion. Matt LaFleur is not afraid to use both players on the field at the same time. The two have combined for 287 yards rushing so far.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers Notes
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are in a very interesting predicament after week two. With injuries already loaded up on the offensive side of the ball, Mike Evans is now suspended for one game after his actions in the fourth-quarter altercation against the New Orleans Saints. With injuries to Chris Godwin and Julio Jones, the receiving core for the Buccaneers will be very shorthanded on Sunday afternoon.
The Buccaneers were already facing injuries with the front line, and now Tom Brady and the offense will have to get creative with their game plan. In response to the injuries and suspension, Tampa Bay went out and signed Cole Beasly, a veteran wideout. Beasly is expected to be placed on the practice squad and eventually brought to the team.
The Buccaneers’ defense stepped up in a big way on Sunday afternoon against the Saints. Tied at three in the fourth quarter, Tampa Bay forced a few picks and took control of the game. Tampa Bay will need another big performance from their defense to stand up against Green Bay.
