AP Top 25 rankings, no doubt, will change on Tuesday morning once the Associated Press update their list. For example, Houston is destined to grab the top spot followed by Kansas in second. When the new rankings come out, which team will be number one?
Purdue lost last week. A single loss usually won’t drop a team, but Rutgers beat Purdue, which means Houston will jump up to number one.
Kansas is bound to grab the second spot after beating Texas Tech and West Virginia, a pair of respected Big 12 opponents. The Jayhawks haven’t lost since facing Tennessee eight games ago.
Purdue will fall to third. UConn should maintain fourth-place even though they lost to Xavier earlier in the week. Zona falls out of the top five.
Which team among the current top ten will offer the most value this week to win March Madness?
Arizona struggled against Washington and then fell to Washington State. The Wildcats could fall out of the top ten. But if we go by the current top ten, then Zona for sure will deserve a look because their odds should rise big time.
The Texas Longhorns fell to Kansas State and lost their head coach in the same week. But the Horns have enough talent to win the Final Four. So at their expected odds, Texas should be a decent play.
Which team in the top 20 but out of the top ten might be a good betting opportunity this week.
Arkansas has the look of one of those freshman led teams that can make the Final Four. Starting point-guard Anthony Black is a great player.
Black isn’t just a freshman. He’s also 6’7”, which means the Hogs have size at guard. Backcourt mate Rickey Council IV is 6’ 6”.
If the Hogs pick it up in March, they can win the title.
What team represents the top underdog play to win the title this week.
It’s easy to say Charleston, but the underdog pick this week is Baylor. The team has steadily fallen in the rankings. We know, though, that Scott Drew will have the Bears ready to roll the closer we get to the NCAA Tournament.
Baylor is a talented squad that resides in the best conference in college basketball. Every team in the Big 12 has talent, including the Bears. Drew will have his team ready for another deep NCAA tournament run. So it makes sense to consider backing Baylor while interest on them is low.
