Top Soccer Betting Picks of the Week – May 13th Edition

Okay soccer betting enthusiasts, if you’re looking for value over the course of the coming week, then you’re in for a treat as I preview a pair of matchups that both have the look of value-packed, ‘near-lock’ affairs just waiting to happen. With that said, let’s get started.

Top Soccer Betting Picks of the Week – May 13th Edition

La Liga

Real Valladolid (10-11-16) vs. Valencia (14-16-7)

  • When: Saturday, May 18 at 9:30 AM ET
  • Where: Estadio Nuevo José Zorrilla

Real Valladolid has won two straight matches and three of their last four including a hard-fought 2-1 win over Rayo Vallecano on Sunday. Unfortunately, they also sit in 16th place in the Spanish Primera Division. Valladolid has scored 32 goals in 37 matches while allowing a generous 49 goals to sit at -17 in the goal differential department.

Valencia is currently in fourth place in the La Liga standings with 49 goals scored and 35 allowed to sit at +14 in the goal differential department. Valencia bounced back from their humbling 4-2 loss against the Arsenal in their last UEFA Europa League match to beat Alaves 3-1 on Saturday.

Prediction

Valencia will be going all out to finish off their regular season in style while extracting some revenge for their uninspiring 1-1 draw against their league rivals when they last met on Jan. 12. While the last five meetings between these two have produced four draws and one narrow win for Valencia, I’m thinking this time around Real Valladolid won’t be much competition seeing as how they’re really inferior to Valencia in every way. One team has everything to play for while the other is playing for nothing more than pride. Valencia wins by a goal!

Soccer Betting Pick: Valencia 2 Real Valladolid 1

Bundesliga

Bayern Munich (23-6-4) vs. Eintracht Frankfurt (15-9-9)

  • When: Saturday, May 18 at 9:30 AM ET
  • Where: Allianz Arena

Bayern Munich sits in first place in Bundesliga with 75 points while Frankfurt sits in sixth place with 54 points. Bayern Munich comes into this affair off a hard-fought scoreless draw against Leipzig on Saturday, one week after dominating Hannover 3-1. Bayern Munich has avoided a loss in seven straight matches while going 6-1-0 during the stretch.

“We want to win this thing next week,” Bayern’s Thomas Muller said. “We have battled back from nine points behind [late last year]. We are very greedy.”

Frankfurt comes into this contest off a humbling 2-0 loss against Mainz this past weekend and they’ve gone six matches without recording a victory while suffering a pitiful 6-1 loss to Bayer Leverkusen on Sunday, May 5.

Prediction

Defending league champs Bayern Munich missed their opportunity to claim the Bundesliga title while Borussia Dortmund kept their hopes alive and closed to within two points with one game left. That alone will be more than enough motivation to get past a Frankfurt team they are clearly better than at both ends of the pitch. Don’t think twice about backing Bayern Minuch in this one…they’ll win by at least two goals.

Soccer Betting Pick: Bayern Munich 4 Frankfurt 1
