Soccer Betting Preview for the Upcoming Tournaments and Qualifiers for the rest of the year

This is a big week for soccer fans all across Europe, as it represents the start of the majority of the major domestic leagues.

If you want to get in on some futures bets for those leagues, now might well be the time to do it, as the favorites are likely to see their odds shorten with each passing week. We will get to those soccer odds in a moment.

My Analysis

Besides the leagues starting, we also have the European competitions, most notably the Champions League, already underway and into the playoff phase before getting to the tournament proper.

We will also look at those competitions and check out the odds there, too, so let’s get to it.

European Domestic Leagues

There are, of course, leagues in all European nations, but there are 5 that are easily the biggest and most popular, so those are the ones we are going to focus on.

England

Manchester City are the reigning champions and have been dominant in the EPL over the past few years. They are once again the favorites to win, but there are a couple of teams who could mount a challenge. Here are the top 4 teams according to the bookies:

  • Manchester City +120
  • Arsenal +188
  • Liverpool +700
  • Chelsea +2000

Spain

We have become accustomed to LaLiga being a 2-horse race between Real Madrid and Barcelona over the years, but it is Madrid who look far and away the best of the bunch. The champs are favorites to win it again this season:

  • Real Madrid -248
  • Barcelona +350
  • Atletico Madrid +980
  • Girona +2100

Italy

Serie A was something of a no contest last season, with Inter Milan winning it in a canter. We can only hope that we get a better title race this season, so let’s look at whom the bookies like to be in the top 4:

  • Inter Milan -161
  • Juventus +360
  • AC Milan +690
  • Napoli +760

Germany

One of the biggest surprises of last season was the failure of Bayern Munich to win the Bundesliga. They will be looking to bounce back this season with a new manager, but can they find their way back:

  • Bayern Munich -200
  • Bayer Leverkusen +280
  • Borussia Dortmund +1300
  • RB Leipzig +1700

France

Of all the major European domestic leagues, this one might be the most predictable, with PSG winning it in 10 of the last 12 seasons. With that in mind, here are the odds for the top 4:

  • PSG -350
  • Marseille +1150
  • Monaco +1350
  • Lille +1675

European Competitions

There are 3 major competitions to choose from here, although it is the Champions League that is the jewel in the crown. Let’s take a look at the odds for all 3:

Champions League

Real Madrid are the defending champions, and with the moves they made in the off season, they look good again, although they are not the favorites:

  • Manchester City +225
  • Real Madrid +300
  • Arsenal +900
  • Liverpool +1000

Europa League + Europa Conference League

Last season, it was Atalanta who ended the year as the Europa League champions with a win over Bayer Leverkusen. We are still waiting for the odds to go live, which is the same with the Europa Conference League, where Olympiacos are the reigning champions.
