Club World Cup Betting Analysis: 2025 Format, Groups & Who will Win

We are reaching a point in football where there is no such thing as an off season for the top players.

The governing bodies continue to add new tournaments in what they deem as an opportunity to give fans more games to watch, but what in reality feels like little more than a cash grab to many.

FIFA Club World Cup Betting Analysis

Either way, once those tournaments roll around, even the most stubborn fans can’t help but tune in to see what it’s all about.

We are going to have an interesting one coming next summer, with the FIFA Club World Cup set to commence on June 14, which is not that far removed from the end of the season in the major European domestic leagues.

Club World Cup Format

All in all, we will have 32 teams taking part, with the AFC, CAF, CONCACAF, CONMEBOL, OFC, and UEFA taking part. The teams are split into 8 groups of 4, much like we see in so many other tournaments, with all the games taking place in the United States in June and July. The cool thing about this tournament is that we are going to get to see some matchups that would never ordinarily occur, such as a team from Saudi Arabia going against an English Premier League side.

Club World Cup Betting Analysis: In the group stage, each of the 4 teams in the group will play one another, with the top 2 teams heading into the knockout round, which will consist of 16 teams. From there, we will get down to the final 2, who will play for what is certainly an impressive looking trophy.

The FIFA Club World Cup Groups

31 of the teams in the tournament are in via their performance in their domestic leagues, with Inter Miami of the MLS in via an invitation, mostly due to the act that the FIFA brass wants Lionel Messi in the tournament. Here is how the group draw looks:

  • Group A
  • Palmeiras
  • FC Porto
  • Al Ahly
  • Inter Miami CF
  • Group B
  • Paris Saint-Germain
  • Atlético Madrid
  • Botafogo
  • Seattle Sounders FC
  • Group C
  • Bayern Munich
  • Auckland City
  • Boca Juniors
  • Benfica
  • Group D
  • Flamengo
  • Espérance de Tunis
  • Chelsea
  • León
  • Group E
  • River Plate
  • Urawa Red Diamonds
  • Monterrey
  • Internazionale
  • Group F
  • Fluminense
  • Borussia Dortmund
  • Ulsan HD
  • Mamelodi Sundowns
  • Group G
  • Manchester City
  • Wydad AC
  • Al Ain
  • Juventus
  • Group H
  • Real Madrid
  • Al Hilal
  • Pachuca
  • RB Salzburg

There are definitely some intriguing matchups to be found in those groups, but we also have the possibility of some serious mismatches, which is the argument that a lot of fans are making, saying that it devalues the tournament.

Who Will Win the FIFA Club World Cup?

This is a question that, in my humble opinion, is simply too tough to answer at this moment.

Like I mentioned earlier, the domestic leagues across Europe will have just ended when this tournament begins, so are the big teams going to take all of their big-name players, or will it be squads filled with reserves and younger players?

Once we get an idea of how all the squads will look, we will have a better idea as to who might win, so watch this space for more details as we get closer to the tournament.
