Betting CONCACAF Nations League Odds: Semifinals Preview & Predictions – MyBookie Soccer

While domestic leagues across Europe are dark for the next couple of weeks, there is still a lot of football taking place. While the Nations League in Europe will be getting a ton of attention, the CONCACAF region will also see their tournament get one step closer to completion. Let’s see some thoughts before Betting CONCACAF Nations League on Semifinals.

We are now down to the final four in the CONCACAF Nations League, but which of the remaining teams will go on and win the tournament. We are going to get into all of that in a moment, but before we do, let’s catch you all up on how the teams made it to this point.

The CONCACAF Nations League Format

This tournament first came into existence back in 2019, with 3 versions of the CONCACAF Nations League played to this point.

All 41 members of CONCACAF went into the tournament, spread across 3 different leagues, although the 4 highest ranked teams in the FIFA World Rankings received a bye into the quarterfinals. Those teams were the US, Mexico, Panama, and Canada.

While there is promotion and relegation across the 3 leagues, it is only the teams in League A, as well as those that received the bye, who can end the Nations League as the champions of the conference.

League A is split into 2 groups of 6 with the top 2 teams in each moving on to the next round, where the top teams come into the tournament.

How Each team Made it to the Semi-Finals

There is quite a gulf between the top 4 teams and the rest of the pack in CONCACAF, so it is perhaps not that surprising that the nations receiving the bye are also the ones that made it to the semi-finals.

Panama had to battle to get to the final 4, as they were drawn against Costa Rica, who ended at the top of Group A. It was a back-and-forth game that Panama eventually won by a score of 3-2 over 2 legs.

The United States went to Jamaica for the first leg of their matchup, picking up a 1-0 win before closing things out at home with a 4-2 win to take the matchup 5-2 on aggregate.

Canada made short work of Suriname on their way to the final four, winning 4-0 over the 2 legs. The Canadians might well be the team to keep an eye on here, although the US and Mexico are likely to get most of the betting money.

Mexico had to dig themselves out of a hole after going down 2-0 to Honduras in the first leg of their matchup. They did it emphatically, winning 4-0 in the return leg in Mexico.

Betting CONCACAF Nations League: Predicting the Results

Unlike the quarterfinals, which were played over 2 legs, the semi-final games are a one-off affair. Both games will be played on March 20th, with the Final and the 3rd Place Game coming 3 days later. Let’s quickly break down both games, with predictions for each.

USA -285 vs Panama +710 (Draw +390)

When: Thursday, March 20, 7:00 PM – Paramount+, Univision
CONCACAF Nations League Prediction: USA 3-1 Panama

One thing that we should mention before we get into the previews and predictions is that all the upcoming games will be played in Inglewood, California, which means that the US are the only team with home field advantage.

That has to be good news for an American team that has won all 3 previous versions of this tournament.

This is a team that still feels as though they are in a bit of a transition phase under coach Mauricio Pochettino.

It does seem as though things are starting to click, as they have won each of their last 4 games, outscoring their opponents by a score of 11-3 in the process.

Over their last 5 games, Panama has just 1 win, which came against Costa Rica in the quarterfinals.

Their last outing was a 6-1 loss to Chile, so they could well be in for some more pain here. The US has only lost 3 times to Panama in 20 meetings, so expect another win here.

Canada +162 vs Mexico +134 (Draw +224)

When: Thursday, March 20, 10:30 PM
CONCACAF Nations League Prediction: Canada 2-1 Mexico

While the other semi-final looks to be something of a foregone conclusion, this one really looks to be a bit of a coin flip.

Canada is performing exceptionally, winning 4 of their last 5 matches, with the only setback being a 0-0 draw against Mexico. They have allowed just 2 goals during this span, showcasing their strong discipline and defense.

Mexico has won 3 of their last 5 games, losing the other 2, which included a 2-0 loss to River Plate in an exhibition game last time out.

I would not put too much emphasis on that game, as it’s always a little tougher to get up for a meaningless game.

While Mexico has won 5 of 8 meetings against Canada, recent games have seen the Canadians win one and draw the other, so recent form is in their favor.

I think we might get something of a surprise here.

Betting CONCACAF Nations League: Who Will Win the Tournament?

As mentioned earlier, there have been 3 previous iterations of this tournament, with the United States winning it all 3 times.

Given that they look to have the clearest path to the Final, as well as home field advantage, they once again need to be seen as the favorite to win it all.

Last time out, they faced Canada in the Final, and I think there is a good chance we might get a repeat of that matchup.

I am going to take a risk here and pick Canada to win it all, with the US finishing 2nd and Mexico beating Panama in the 3rd place game.
