Copa America Group B: Odds, Score Predictions, and Best Bets

Games For Wednesday: As the European Championship takes a few days off before getting to the Round of 16, we can now turn our full attention to the Copa America, which is still in the relatively early going.

Each of the 16 teams in the tournament have played their opening games, while the teams in Group A have played twice.

My Analysis

The action returns on Wednesday night with a pair of games in Group B. If you don’t know much about this tournament, let’s do a quick recap. The first round consists of 4 groups of 4, with the top 2 teams moving on after the group phase is over.

With that in mind, the second set of games tends to be huge, especially for those teams that lost their opener. Let’s take a look at the 2 games going on Wednesday night, with predictions for each and odds provided by MyBookie Sportsbook.

Ecuador -206 vs Jamaica +650

Both of these teams are in need of a win after losing their opening games in the tournament. Ecuador will be feeling slightly aggrieved at their defeat, as they got off to a good start, taking a 1-0 lead over Venezuela.

They were reduced to 10 men in that one, with a player sent off in the first half, and were unable to see the game out. Ecuador gave up a pair of goals in the second half of the game to eventually lose 2-1.

This will be a good opportunity for them to get back to winning ways in a game where they are the clear favorite to win at odds of -210.

Jamaica had a tough opening to their tournament, opening against Mexico in a game that they always looked destined to lose. They did make things very tough for the Mexicans, though, digging in and putting up a solid defensive showing before going down to a stunning long-range goal.

The bad news for Ecuador is that they will be without Enner Valencia, the player sent off in the opening game.

He will serve an automatic suspension for this one, but even in his absence, Ecuador should be able to come away with the win.

Copa America Pick: Ecuador 2-1 Jamaica
Draw: +295 // Total O/U: 2.5

Mexico +107 vs Venezuela +270

The pressure is very much on Mexico in this game, given that their fans have rather lofty expectations. They opened the tournament with a 1-0 win over Jamaica, although they probably deserved to win by more given their dominance.

While they came away with the win, Mexico lost Edson Alvarez to a hamstring injury. He will not be easy to replace in the midfield, but this is a deep squad. The build up to this tournament has not been great for Mexico, so getting that win will have settled their nerves.

Speaking of nerves, Venezuela had something of a nervy start to their campaign, going 1-0 down to Ecuador, who had been reduced to 10 men, in their opener.

They were able to maintain their composure and eventually did enough in the second half to secure all 3 points in a 2-1 win. This, though, is likely to be a much tougher ask.

There has to be some concern about the lack of goals from Mexico in their opening game, and I think we might see that trend continue here.

Copa America Pick: Mexico 1-0 Venezuela
Draw: +228 // Total O/U: 2.5
