Europa League Betting Matchday 8, Props, Insights, Predictions & Top Games to Watch

This is time for Europa League Betting, with a massive week for the teams taking part in the major European club tournaments, as it is the final round of games in the league phase of those competitions.

Finally, we broke down the final matchday in the UCL, so today we are going to turn our attention to the Europa League, with the final round of league games set to be played on this week.

MyBookie Europa League Betting Matchday 8 Analysis

If you haven’t been following along, let’s quickly break down how this stage of the tournament plays out. In total, 32 teams entered the league phase, with each team playing 8 games (4 home, 4 away).

Once those games are completed, the top 8 teams automatically move into the Round of 16.

The teams that finished 9th through 24th go into a 2-game playoff to decide the other 8 spots, so there are going to be teams battling for their lives on Thursday.

We are going to take a look at the biggest games on the Europa League schedule in Matchday 8 in just a moment, but before we get to that, let’s take a look at some of the props and future bets you can play right now.

Be aware, though, that some of the odds we are going to discuss here may change dramatically once this next round of games is played, meaning you may want to get in on the action before Matchday 8 takes place.

Europa League Betting Props and Future Bets

The most obvious future bet is to try and select the winner of the tournament, and just like in the Champions League, it is the English teams sitting atop the bookies board.

Here are the current odds of winning the Europa League prior to Matchday 8:

  • Manchester United +440
  • Tottenham +490
  • Athletic Bilbao +590
  • Lazio +780

Of course, there is no guarantee that one of these 4 teams will hoist the silverware at the end of the season, so keep an eye on how things play out and the draw for the knockout round.

Who will end the Europa League as the top scorer? This is a tough one to answer, especially when you have 5 players sitting on 5 goals scored at this stage of the tournament.

The key here is to try and figure out which team will make the deepest run, as that means more opportunities for these players to find the net. The top 5 scorers right now are as follows:

  • Hojlund: Manchester United
  • Varga: Ferencvaros
  • Aghehowa: Porto
  • Akgum: Galatasaray
  • El Kaabi: Olympiakos

Europa League Betting Matchday 8 Top Games and Predictions

Ajax +147 vs Galatasaray +146 (Draw +290)

When: Thursday, January 30, 2025, 3:00 PM
Europa League Prediction: Ajax 1-1 Galatasaray

Both of these teams will almost certainly still be alive after the Thursday action ends, but where they will be standing remains to be seen.

Ajax look set to be heading to the playoffs, as they are down in the #16 spot with no chance of breaking into the top 8.

They have fallen off a cliff in recent weeks and come into this one on a 3-game losing skid.

Galatasaray is unbeaten in their last 5 games in this tournament, winning 3 and drawing 2. They are in 9th place and could potentially land a top 8 spot with a win, but this will be a tough road trip.

Athletic Club -139 vs Viktoria Plzen +440 (Draw +230)

When: Thursday, January 30, 2025, 3:00 PM
Europa League Prediction: Athletic Club 2-0 Viktoria Plzen

Another huge one, with both of these teams having the potential to finish the league phase in the top 8. Realistically, Athletic Club look to be secure in their top 8 standing, as they are currently 3rd and would need to lose and have a whlotf results go against them to drop out.

They are coming off a loss last time out, getting hammered 4-1 by Besiktas on the road.

Plzen is sitting on 11 points right now, 2 points below the cut line, so they need a win and some results to go their way to crack the top 8, but they do look to be safely in the playoff zone.

FCSB +420 vs Manchester United -167 (Draw +295)

When: Thursday, January 30, 2025, 3:00 PM
Europa League Prediction: FCSB 1-2 Manchester United

Both of these teams are currently sitting in the top 8 and looking at an automatic berth in the knockout round, but will they both still be there once this game finishes.

FCSB is clinging to the #8 spot at the moment, going unbeaten in their last 4 games (2W, 2D), but a win here could really vault them up the standings.

A loss would almost certainly consign them to the playoffs. Manchester United has been disappointing all season long, but they have been good in Europa League play, winning each of their last 4 games to move up to 4th in the standings.

Rangers +114 vs Union St. Gilloise +212 (Draw +255)

When: Thursday, January 30, 2025, 3:00 PM
Europa League Prediction: Rangers 2-1 Union St. Gilloise

Both of these teams will almost certainly be heading to the playoffs, so it’s all a matter of finishing as high in the league as possible in hopes of getting a favorable draw in the playoffs.

Rangers saw a valuable point slip away after surrendering a last-minute goal to Manchester United in their last game, but they had gone unbeaten in the 4 games prior to that loss.

Union is 2 spots behind Rangers in 13th, as well as a point behind, so they need a road win here to leapfrog the Scots. They are in very good form, winning 3 in a row in this tournament.

Roma -144 vs Frankfurt +390 (Draw +265)

When: Thursday, January 30, 2025, 3:00 PM
Europa League Prediction: Roma 1-1 Frankfurt

This game is very much life or death for Roma, as a loss in this one may well mean the end of their rime in this tournament. They have managed to pick up just 9 points through their first 7 games, which has them sitting in 21st place in the league, which is a little too close to the cut line for comfort.

They have picked up points in 4 of their last 5 games, but this is a tough one. The good news for Frankfurt is that they are assured of a top 8 spot, so is there a chance that they take their foot off the gas a little in this game?
