The international break is almost over, which means that it’s to start thinking about the domestic leagues across Europe once again. With the calendar now turned into spring, we are heading down the homestretch in the battle for championships in the major leagues, so check it out the La Liga betting odds this week.
For the purposes of this piece, we are heading to Spain for Matchday 29. We have a real battle taking place at the top of the table, so the final couple of months could be very fun to watch.
Matchday 29: How to Bet La Liga Betting Odds, Prediction and Preview
Is it going to be the usual giants of Barcelona and Real Madrid going head-to-head in the final weeks of the season, or can one of the chasing teams upset the apple cart?
Only time will tell, so for now, let’s focus on the LaLiga games coming this week.
While this is Matchday 29 for most, there are a few teams that still have a game in hand, with Barcelona easily being the most important of that batch.
We will, of course, remind you all of that if we preview games featuring any of those teams.
Barcelona -360 vs Osasuna +730 (Draw +500)
LaLiga Prediction: Barcelona 4-1 Osasuna
When: Thursday, March 27, 4:00 PM
As mentioned at the top of this piece, there is a real back and forth taking place at the top of the table. Barcelona is currently leading the way again and are tied at 60 points with Real Madrid.
Barcelona does have a game in hand, so they essentially control their own destiny.
A big part of the issue in recent weeks for Barcelona has been their defense, but they have tightened up dramatically, winning their last 5 games and outscoring the opposition 15-3.
Osasuna is in the bottom half of the table, picking up just 2 points from a possible 15 in their last 5 games.
They did beat Barcelona 4-2 in their earlier meeting, but things should be different at the Camp Nou.
^Espanyol +510 vs Atletico Madrid -190 (Draw +285)
LaLiga Prediction: Espanyol 1-2 Atletico Madrid
When: Saturday, March 29, 11:15 AM
The LaLiga title all too often comes down to a battle between Barcelona and Real Madrid, and it is in danger of having that happen again this season.
Atletico Madrid is the one team that could break up the mighty duo, but they need to snap out of a slump that has seen them lose their last 3 games, with a 4-2 loss to Barcelona last time out being particularly hurtful to their title challenge.
Espanyol has just 1 win and 2 draws in their last 5 games and are languishing down in the bottom half, but could they be ready to take advantage of a Madrid side that looks a little fragile at the moment?
Their last 3 meetings have ended in a draw, but I think we will get a winner here.
^Real Madrid -676 vs Leganes +1300 (Draw +630)
LaLiga Prediction: Real Madrid 3-1 Leganés
When: Saturday, March 29, 4:00 PM
Given how close things are at the moment, the top teams simply cannot afford to drop points, which Atletico Madrid are learning the hard way.
Real Madrid looked to be pulling away at the top, but with Barcelona going unbeaten in their last 5 and Madrid dropping 5 points during the same stretch, things are now swinging in the favor of Barcelona.
Madrid has won 2 in a row, though, and will be heavy favorites in this one. Leganes are in real trouble near the bottom of the table, sitting in 1 of the 3 relegation spots.
They have just 1 win in their last 5 games, but the chances of them getting anything from this one seem to be slim to none.

Getafe +208 vs Villareal +133 (Draw +206)
LaLiga Prediction: Getafe 1-1 Villareal
When: Sunday, March 30, 8:00 AM
Besides the race to win the title, there is also the business of European places to talk about.
The goal for every team is to land in the top 4 to ensure a spot in the Champions League and the money that comes with it.
Villareal has some work to do to get into one of those spots, although their current 5th place standing would get them into the Europa League.
They have lost their last 2 games, though, and this one will not be much easier.
Getafe also has a tough road ahead of them, sitting in 10th place, 8 points out of a European spot, but they are showing signs of life, winning 2 in a row and 3 of their last 5 games.
Each of the last 3 meetings between these two teams have ended in a tie, so let’s stick with that trend.
^Valencia +102 vs Mallorca +280 (Draw +210)
LaLiga Prediction: Valencia 0-1 Mallorca
When: Sunday, March 30, 12:30 PM
Both of these teams are caught up in very different fights this season, with one looking for a European place while the other looks to steer clear of the relegations zone.
Valencia is currently sitting down in 16th place, just 1 point clear of the drop zone, but they have at least been picking up some points, winning once and drawing 3 times in their last 5 games.
Mallorca is in 7th place, and while a Champions League spot looks out of the question, they are just 4 points back of the Europa and Conference League spots, so they could worm their way in with a strong finish.
Mallorca has won or tied their last 5 meetings with Valencia, so let’s take them to win a tight one.
^Which Team Will End Up As LaLiga Champions?
While I would like to suggest that 3 or 4 teams have a chance at winning the title, I think it’s more realistic to assume that we are down to a 2-horse race between Barcelona and Real Madrid.
Neither of them has been perfect this season, with both experiencing a dip in form, so the stretch run is going to be fun to watch.
The bookies seem to agree that it’s down to two teams, as they have Barcelona at odds of -165 to win LaLiga, while Real Madrid is at +174.
Atletico Madrid is at +840 and slipping away. I would be willing to take a chance on Real Madrid at these odds.
