It feels as though we just crowned a champion in Liga MX, yet here we are closing in on the end of another regular season. The reality is that you are not confused, as the Liga MX in Mexico works a little differently than most other leagues in the word in that they crown 2 champions each year, growing up the chances to win with the Betting Liga MX.

It is worth noting that the top 10 teams in the league go to the playoffs, so we will be focusing on the teams that are still in the playoff picture, so let’s get right to it.

Necaxa -167 vs Queretaro +410 (Draw +300)

Liga MX Prediction: Necaxa 2-1 Queretaro

This is a big game for both teams, but more so for Queretaro, as they are trying to make their way into the top 10. Necaxa is there already, sitting in 6th place. They went through a bit of a rough patch, losing 2 in a row, but they snapped out of that with a win last time out. You can expect goals from this team, as they have scored 26 this season while surrendering 21.

Queretaro is still in the hunt for a playoff spot, as they are just 3 points back of the final spot. They have won 2 of their last 3 games, so they are putting up a fight. These two have tied in 4 of their last 5 meetings, so expect another tight one.

Mazatlan +141 vs Atlas +194 (Draw +218)

Both of these teams are sitting outside the playoff spots, but both are still within reach. That said, with the season nearing the end, a loss here could make the postseason impossible.

Mazatlan is 12th, sitting 3 points out of 10th, but wins have been hard to come by of late, as they have won just once in their last 5, losing 2 and drawing 2 during that stretch.

Atlas is sitting behind their opponent on goal difference, but they saw an upward move come to an end with a loss last time out after winning 2 in a row. I have to give the edge to Mazatlan at home.

Toluca -131 vs Pachuca +310 (Draw +285)

Liga MX Prediction: Toluca 2-2 Pachuca

With both teams currently sitting in the playoff positions, the goal for both is to get a little closer to the top. Toluca are sitting in 4th place and are just 3 points behind the leaders. They have been in very good form of late, winning 4 of their last 5 games.

A win here could potentially move them up the table. This will not be an easy one for them, though, as Pachuca are hot on their heels, sitting 3 points behind Toluca down in 7th. They are unbeaten in their last 4 games, winning 2 and drawing the other 2. This matchup tends to deliver goals, so I really like the OVER here.

America -124 vs Tigres +330 (Draw +250)

There are a lot of good games on the Week 13 schedule, but this one is arguably the pick of the bunch. As mentioned earlier, America has been the team to beat in Mexico, winning each of the last 3 titles. They are back on top of the league again this season and are now unbeaten in their last 5 games, winning 3 and drawing the other 2.

They also have the best goal difference, scoring 26 and surrendering just 8. Tigres are sitting in 3rd place, just 2 points out of the lead, so they could potentially go top of the table with a win in this one. They have won 3 in a row, so they are certainly in great form, but a road trip to face the top team is definitely a challenge.

Chivas +206 vs Cruz Azul +131 (Draw +222)

Another big one here, as both of these teams are currently occupying playoff spots, although one is in much better shape than the other. Chivas is clinging to the final playoff spot, but they have gone unbeaten in their last 3 games, taking 5 points from a possible 9. They have struggled to find the net this season, managing just 14 goals in 12 games, so they need to find their shooting boots if they are to maintain a playoff spot.

Cruz Azul finished the Apertura in the #1 spot, but they failed to get the job done in the playoffs. They are 5th right now and are unbeaten in their last 5 games, taking 11 points from a possible 15.

Betting Liga MX: Which Team Will be the Clausura Champion?

Before we get into this, it is worth remembering that the team that finishes at the top of the table after the 17 regular season games is NOT considered the champion.

They are just the top seeds heading into the 10-team playoff. Cruz Azul finished top during the Apertura, but it is America who were crowned champions after the end of the postseason.

Here are the current odds to win the 2025 Clausura:

Given that they have won each of the last 3 championships, it is certainly tough to bet against Club America at this point.

That said, there has to come a time when that reign comes to an end, so who would we pick if this is the season where America sees their dominance come to an end?

Tigres appears to be rounding into form at just the right times, so they might be worth a look at their current odds.
