Both teams are battling for the top spot in the Liga MX table and the winner could potentially go to the top with a win. Pachuca is in 4th place with 10 points, but even if they win, they won’t go ahead of America because of the current goal difference. Leon, though, would go clear at the top with a win, as they look to maintain their perfect start to the Clausura season. Pachuca has won the last 3 home games against Leon, but their previous meeting was a 0-0 tie. I am giving the slight edge to Pachuca at home.

The 3-time defending champions will be hitting the road on Friday night, and while they will certainly be the favorite to win, road trips are never really a slam dunk. Puebla is coming off a 2-0 win over Santos Laguna, although that was somewhat expected given that their opponents have lost every game this season. Puebla has scored 5 and surrendered 5 this season. America is out to a great start, winning 4 and drawing 1 to take the top spot in Liga MX. They are on fire at the moment, scoring 13 times and surrendering just 2. America lost their last meeting with Puebla, but I think they get back to winning ways here.

It is a busy week for Leon, as well as being a tough one, as both of their games are coming against teams sitting in the top 6. As mentioned earlier, they could be on top of the table by the time this game rolls around on Saturday. Leon is out to a fantastic start, winning all 4 games, while scoring 7 times and surrendering 3. You do have to wonder if two games in quick succession will come back to bite them. Toluca is sitting in 6th, getting 8 points from their opening 5 games, with just 1 loss coming in that stretch. They have been fun to watch, scoring 8 and surrendering 6. Atlas is sitting in 14th in the table right now despite losing just once in their opening 5 games, with the other 4 games ending in a draw. Can they get over the hump and get their first win of the season? The last 2 meetings have ended in a draw, and this one could go the same way.

This is another huge matchup, with both of these teams sitting near the top of the table. We have already discussed Pachuca, who will be playing Leon in another massive game earlier in the week. It’s a pretty even split in recent meetings between these teams, but I am giving the slight edge to Cruz Azul at home.
