The 2022 World Cup may have ended but that doesn’t mean there isn’t plenty of soccer tournament action happening in 2023. UEFA finishes out the Europa League tournament and the Champions League tournament in late spring. Also in late spring, the best under-20 players in the world throw down at the FIFA U-20 World Cup. Then during the summer, the 2023 Women’s World Cup kicks off. Check out more info on this upcoming year’s top soccer tournaments so you can plan ahead your bets and place them on the Soccer Odds.
Top Soccer Tournaments to Must Watch and Bet In 2023
Soccer Tournaments in 2023
- When: Jan. 1 – Dec. 31, 2023
UEFA Europa League Resumes – Feb. 16 – May 31
Arsenal is the favorite to get it done. The Gunners have also had a decent Premier League season. So anybody who wants to back Arsenal has a reason to do so.
Man United is second choice. But before dumping on the two favorites, it’s important to take a look at SC Freiburg.
The German Bundesliga squad is hanging with Bayern, Dortmund, and RB Leipzig. Freiburg can upset things. So can PSV Eindhoven, and both of the La Liga teams, Betis and Sociedad.
UEFA Champions League Resumes – Feb. 11 – June 10
Fresh off a World Cup victory, Paris Saint-Germain player Lionel Messi hopes to help his club team secure a CL trophy. Kylian Mbappe and Messi play on the same team. As does Brazil’s Neymar.
All three should have Paris in a position to win the trophy. Bayern is hoping for a bounce back. Munich’s hopes depend on Sadio Mane’s health.
Man City will be tough to beat. However, their defense hasn’t looked great all season. Top underdog contenders include defending champion Real Madrid, Serie A power Napoli, and Bundesliga squad RB Leipzig.
FIFA U-20 World Cup – May 20 – June 11
Twenty-four teams will participate in the under-20 FIFA World Cup. Argentina and France are three of those teams.
The United States and Mexico will also participate. So will Italy, which might be the team to watch. The Italians have missed the last two World Cup cycles.
So we should expect Italy’s U-20 team to be fired up to show Italian soccer is on its way back to prominence. One nation that won’t participate is Brazil.
UEFA Nations League – June 14 – June 18
The Nations League resumes play in June. On June 14, three matches take place. The Netherlands is involved in one of the matches.
But it’s difficult to know who else is playing. So far, UEFA hasn’t decided on when the teams will play to determine the semifinal participants. So we don’t have that schedule. Be on the lookout for more info if you want to bet this soccer tournament.
CONCACAF Gold Cup – June 24 – July 16
The 2023 CCONCACAF Gold Cup kicks off on June 24 and runs for three weeks. So far, just four teams have qualified for the 2023 Gold Cup tournament.
Qatar, the 2022 World Cup hosts, have qualified. So has El Salvador, Panama, and Jamaica. No doubt, Canada, the United States, and Mexico will qualify during the CONCACAF Nations League tourney, which happens earlier in the year.
2023 Women’s World Cup – July 20 – August 20
New Zealand hosts the 2023 Women’s World Cup where the United States will be looking to win a third straight trophy.
Among the U.S.’s challengers will be always tough to beat Japan, England, France, and Brazil. The Women’s World Cup is 2023’s most significant soccer tournament.
