Some UEFA Soccer Leagues, like French Ligue 1 where Paris Saint-Germain rules, aren’t competitive enough to make championship betting predictions. But other leagues, like Serie A, are crazy competitive. Check out top championship predictions for this season’s Italian Serie A Championship so you can plan your bets against the Serie A Odds.
Soccer Betting | Serie A Championship Predictions
2021 – 2022 Italian Serie A Season
- When: Aug. 21, 2021 – May 22, 2022
Top Pick: Juventus
Juve should have an excellent chance to win the title. Heading into Matchday 28, the team that secured the services of Serie A’s top goal scorer this season, Dusan Vlahovic, looks best.
Make no mistake. Juve must overcome a 7-point deficit to overtake Napoli and AC Milan and grab first place. It can happen, though, because Maximiliano Allegri preaches defense. And now, with Vlahovic up top, Juventus can score with the top attacks in the league.
Again, Juve is 7 points behind leaders Napoli and AC Milan. But with Vlahovic continuing to impress, it’s a matter of time before Juventus climbs to the top of the standings.
Second Pick: Inter Milano
Inter will enter Matchday 28 a couple of points behind Napoli and AC Milan. The deficit is nothing for Internazionale’s fans to stress about.
But although Inter starts one of the very best players on the planet, Argentinian Lautaro Martinez, Milano isn’t as dominant this season as they were last season.
That doesn’t mean Inter can’t win a second straight Serie A title. It does mean that winning the title will be much more difficult.
Martinez is good enough to lead Inter to a second straight trophy. But Juve is on the rise while Inter appears to have fallen back, which is why Juventus is the top pick and Milano is the second choice.
Third Pick: AC Milan
After last season, some declared that AC Milan would never bounce back. Not only has Milan bounced back this season, but heading into Matchday 28, they’re tied with Napoli atop the Serie A Standings.
AC and Napoli have 57 points, a couple of points better than Inter Milano. Spanish star Brahim Diaz wears number 10 for AC Milan, which is one of the reasons the Serie A title contender can afford to allow Franck Kessie to transfer to Barcelona this summer.
Olivier Giroud has finally found a home, he’s scored 7 goals in 11 starts, and young Brazilian Junior Messias is a rising star.
The lone reason we didn’t pick AC Milan second is because Ibrahimovic is now 40-years-old. He may not hold up until the final matchday, and it’s apparent that the final matchday will determine this season’s Serie A winner.
Top Underdog Pick: Lazio
Lazio has a significant deficit to make up on the Serie A leaders. Rome must close a 14-point gap, 43 to 57, to win the Serie A Championship.
But although the deficit is tremendous, Lazio can do it. First, Ciro Immobile remains one of the best forwards in the league. Second, Spanish midfielder Luis Alberto can hang with the best midfielders in Serie A.
So far, things haven’t gone as planned. But if Alberto and Immobile can get hot, who knows? If you like playing underdogs, Lazio is the dog in Serie A worth a look.
I have read enough, I need to place my bet now. What to do?
