English FA Cup – Round 4 Games to Wager On This Weekend (Feb. 5th – 6th)
Plymouth Argyle +2 ½ +125 vs Chelsea -2 ½ -175
- When: Saturday, Feb. 5
As you might expect, Plymouth Argyle doesn’t have much shot of winning this on the moneyline. Chelsea is one of the best teams in the world. Plymouth isn’t the best team in English League One.
However, the Blues may not decimate Plymouth Argyle the way the handicap odds suggest. Not that Chelsea doesn’t easily win, but a 2-goal victory is as good as a 3-goal. Plymouth is the play.
Soccer Pick: Plymouth Argyle
Brentford FC +213 vs Everton FC +109
- When: Saturday, Feb. 5
Neither team is in good form. Home squad Everton shows a single victory in their last 5. Since beating Port Vale 4-1 on Jan. 8, Brentford has lost 4 straight.
Everton’s victory over Hull City didn’t impress as much as Brentford’s win against Port Vale. Not only that, but in the last head-to-head, Brentford prevailed. The road team is worth a look.
Soccer Pick: Brentford
Norwich City +386 vs Wolverhampton Wanderers -161
- When: Saturday, Feb. 5
Both teams are playing well. Norwich has won 3-of-5 and 2 straight, 2-1 against Everton on Jan. 15 and 3-0 versus Watford on Jan. 21.
Wolverhampton has won 4 straight. The last couple of victories impress: 3-1 against Southampton and 2-1 versus Brentford. The lone blemish in the Wanderers’ last 5 is a draw against Chelsea. The home team takes this.
Soccer Pick: Wolverhampton Wanderers
Fulham FC +2 ½ -140 vs Manchester City -2 ½ +102
- When: Saturday, Feb. 5
Fulham shouldn’t come close to upsetting Man City on the moneyline. But although the Sky Blues will win this, they’re not a lock to cover the handicap.
But laying -140 on Fulham even with 2 ½ goals is asking too much. If Manchester City is at the top of their game, they can win this by 4. The odds make City worth backing.
Soccer Pick: Manchester City
Brighton & Hove Albion +269 vs Tottenham Hotspur -113
- When: Saturday, Feb. 5
It’s difficult to understand why Tottenham is such a big favorite to beat Brighton. The Hotspur is the home squad, yes, but Tottenham has lost 3-of-5.
Brighton has a couple of wins and 3 draws in their last 5. All 3 of Tottenham’s losses were to Chelsea, but that doesn’t mean they suddenly pick it up against the road squad. Brighton is the play.
Soccer Pick: Brighton & Hove Albion
Cardiff City +2 ½ -156 vs Liverpool FC -2 ½ +113
- When: Sunday, Feb. 6
Cardiff heads to Pool on a 2-match winning streak. On Jan. 30, Cardiff beat Nottingham Forest 2-1. Then on Feb. 2, Cardiff beat Barnsley 1-0.
Pool has won 4-of-5 with a draw. In their last 3 matches, the Reds have dominated their opponents. Liverpool beat Brentford 3-0, Arsenal 2-0, and Crystal Palace 3-1. The Reds should cover this handicap.
Soccer Pick: Liverpool
