USL Championship fans can sit back on Saturday night and enjoy ten games on the schedule. The standings in both conferences are still tight at the top, so each game will be meaningful. Let’s take a closer look at some of the biggest matches on Saturday’s schedule so you can bet against their USL Championship odds.
USL Championship Betting Previews for June 11th
Monterey Bay vs San Antonio FC
While Monterey Bay is at the bottom of the Western Conference standings, the Union is only seven points out of a play spot. They’ve also won two of their last three matches, including a 4-2 win over first-place Colorado Springs.
The result actually helped San Antonio, with SAFC only trailing Colorado Springs on goal differential. San Antonio also has the challenge of needing to bounce back from a loss to Sacramento last weekend.
Charleston Battery vs Pittsburgh Riverhounds
The Battery has undoubtedly been the worst team in the USL Championship this season, with just one win and two draws in 12 matches. But that doesn’t mean this will be an easy game for the Riverhounds, who are winless in their last three matches.
Of course, after losing ground in the standings in recent weeks, this match is the perfect opportunity for Pittsburgh to get back on track.
Detroit City FC vs Sacramento Republic FC
Detroit City is nipping at the heels of Memphis and Louisville at the top of the Eastern Conference standings. Le Rouge has also gone five straight matches in all competitions without a loss.
Of course, they’ll be hosting a Sacramento Republic side with a lot of confidence. The Republic is still riding high from its US Cup upset over the San Jose Earthquakes and is also fresh off a win over second-place San Antonio.
San Diego Loyal SC vs Hartford Athletic
Hartford is in a little bit of trouble heading into a West Coast trip, winning just twice in the club’s last nine matches. That has them 12 points out of a playoff spot and just three points ahead of the last-place team in the Eastern Conference.
San Diego, on the other hand, is within striking distance of first place in the Western Conference, just five points back. However, the Loyal is slipping, going winless in four straight matches.
LA Galaxy II vs Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC
The Galaxy’s reserve team isn’t exactly impressing the parent club in the USL Championship this season. They are currently out despite picking up three points in a win over Rio Grande Valley. The Galaxy II had just one win over the club’s last five matches, so this may not be the ideal time to be facing first-place Colorado Springs.
Outside of a surprising loss to Monterey Bay, the Switchbacks have been in good form, winning four of their last five matches. Both Michee Ngalina and Elvis Amoh have five goals apiece this season, giving the Switchbacks two quality talismans.
Phoenix Rising FC vs El Paso Locomotive
Goal differential is the only thing separating these teams in the standings, so this is a big game for both sides. Of course, the Locomotive has the better goal differential, as they are the top-scoring team in the UCL Championship.
El Paso has also put together a four-match unbeaten streak. Phoenix, on the other side, is doing the opposite of Rising. They have lost four of their last five matches, giving up 16 goals while scoring just three during that stretch.
