UEFA Champions League Semi Final Betting Predictions

As the domestic leagues across Europe head into their final few weeks, the focus for most teams is making a final run at the league title. For 4 teams, the Champions League will also be something to consider, as we are now at the semi-finals stage of the tournament. 3 of the 4 teams left are names that we are used to seeing here, while the 4th is one that may be a bit of a surprise to some, but who probably shouldn’t be given their ability to put the ball in the back of the net on a stunningly consistent basis. Let’s take a closer look at the two ties to see if we can do some soccer betting predictions for which two teams will be moving on the Champions League Final in Cardiff, Wales on Saturday, June 3.

UEFA Champions League Semi Final Betting Predictions

Real Madrid Vs Atletico Madrid

While it’s great that we get the Real Madrid derby as one of the semi-final ties, I’m sure that there are many football fans out there who were hoping that this would be the final. Real Madrid are probably the prohibitive favorite to win it all, especially with Barcelona now out of the picture. They are appearing in their 6th straight CL semi-final, so it isn’t really a major surprise to see them in the final four. The ideal situation for Real Madrid would have been to have La Liga all locked up by now so that they could focus on this tie, but a loss to Barcelona over the weekend means that it will likely go down to the wire there. As long as Cristiano Ronaldo stays healthy, expect him to add to his 100 Champions League goals tally in the semis.

Atletico Madrid had what appeared to be an easy path to the semis, as they were handed Leicester City in the quarter-finals. Madrid struggled to put the Foxes away, though, proving once again that they are a team that relies heavily on defense to get the job done. They really cannot afford to give up an away goal in this tie, as they simply don’t have the firepower to overcome a Real Madrid team that can seemingly score at will.

Real Madrid move on 3-1 on aggregate.

Juventus Vs Monaco

The French side are the surprise team in the final 4, but anyone planning on counting them out should perhaps think twice. Monaco have taken care of Manchester City and Borussia Dortmund on their road to the semi-finals, and they have done so by playing an all-out attacking style of football that is incredibly fun to watch. They have some defensive discrepancies that are worrying, but as long as they can keep sticking the ball in the back of the net, they will be dangerous.

While Monaco are all about attacking flair, Juventus are all about building an impenetrable defensive wall. How many teams would have the ability to do what the Italians did in the quarter-finals, which was to hold Barcelona goalless over the two legs? This is a team that is near impossible to break down, and they have only given up 2 goals in Champions League play so far.

Juventus move on 3-0 on aggregate.
