Writer’s FIFA World Cup CONMEBOL Qualifying Matches

Paraguay +390 vs Bolivia -144

Tuesday, November 19, 2024

Paraguay is on fire.

In their last 5, the Paraguayans show 3 wins and a couple of draws.

2-of-3 wins were against top squads Argentina and Brazil.

Since playing well in September and early October, Bolivia has begun to flounder.

The underdog has lost 2 straight to Argentina and Ecuador by a combined 10 goals.

Bolivia is at home, which is why they’re the chalk.

Taking a shot on Paraguay makes sense.

CONMEBOL Pick: Paraguay

Ecuador +490 vs Colombia -160

Tuesday, November 19, 2024

Colombia shows 2 wins and 2 losses in their last 4.

The favorite in this fell to Bolivia and Uruguay but beat Argentina and Chile.

Ecuador hasn’t lost since a 1-0 match versus Brazil on September 6.

The Ecuadorians have won twice and drawn twice in their last 4.

Ecuador may not win but a draw is possible.

Back the draw to cash.

CONMEBOL Pick: Draw

Peru +1.5 +123 vs Argentina -1.5 -172

Tuesday, November 19, 2024

The match is in Argentina, which accounts for the odds spread.

The Albiceleste is a massive favorite at -1.5 and -172.

What the odds mean is that soccer bettors backing Argentina are willing to risk $172 to make $100 and that Argentina must win by at least 2 goals.

That’s a lot to ask.

The risk is too great in my opinion.

Peru isn’t better than Argentina and this happens in Buenos Aires but Argentina has 22 points.

A simple 1-0 win will suffice.

CONMEBOL Pick: Peru +1.5

Venezuela +310 vs Chile -101

Tuesday, November 19, 2024

Neither team is playing well.

Chile is in worse form than Venezuela.

The Chileans show 4 losses and a draw to Peru in their last.

Chile will be all out in this and it might be enough.

However, Venezuela has forced 3 draws in their last 4.

Also, the defeat to Peru was by a goal.

The chances of a draw are high considering Chile’s form.

Go draw in Chile versus Venezuela.

CONMEBOL Pick: Draw

Uruguay +510 vs Brazil -186

Tuesday, November 19, 2024

Uruguay can hang with Brazil.

No doubt the Brazilians should win this but the odds suggest somewhat of a blowout.

If Brazil was a -150 chalk, they’d be a decent play but at -186, and possibly -200 or so by kickoff, Brazil is a play against.

For sure, Uruguay is going to find it tough to win this but the potential payout makes them worth taking a shot.

Take a shot on the dog to bite.

CONMEBOL Pick: Uruguay

Writer’s FIFA World Cup CONMEBOL Qualifying Matches

Venezuela +490 vs Brazil -174

Thursday, November 14, 2024

Brazil has won 3-of-4 World Cup qualifying matchups.

In their last, the Brazilians destroyed Peru 4-0.

In their last road WC qualifier, Brazil beat Chile 2-1.

Venezuela has drawn twice with a road loss against Paraguay in their last 3.

1 of Venezuela’s draws came versus Argentina.

Since this happens on a pitch in Venezuela, a draw is possible.

CONMEBOL Pick: Draw

Paraguay +400 vs Argentina -174

Thursday, November 14, 2024

Paraguay shows 2 wins and a draw in their last 3.

Paraguay drew against Ecuador.

The wins came versus Brazil and Venezuela.

Argentina beat Bolivia 6-0 in their last.

The Argentinians have 22 points, which all but assures the reigning World Cup champs will qualify for the 2026 tournament.

So we shouldn’t expect Albiceleste to be all in for the victory.

Give Paraguay a chance at the upset.

CONMEBOL Pick: Paraguay

Ecuador -2.5 +131 vs Bolivia +2.5 -185

Thursday, November 14, 2024

Bolivia takes on Ecuador after a 6-0 loss to Argentina in their last.

Also, this happens in Ecuador, which means Bolivia should struggle.

But 3 goals is a lot.

Ecuador beat Peru 1-0 but drew against Paraguay and Uruguay in their last 3.

The Ecuadorians should win this.

Beating Bolivia by more than a goal, though, is a stretch.

CONMEBOL Pick: Bolivia +2.5

Uruguay vs Colombia

Friday, November 15, 2024

In their last 2 home World Cup Qualifying matches, Colombia played great, beating Argentina 2-1 and dusting Chile 4-0.

But in their last road qualifier, the Colombians fell to Bolivia in a 1-0 game.

Uruguay shows 4 draws and a loss in their last 5.

The Uruguayans aren’t beating anybody.

That could change in this match.

Give Uruguay the nod to get it done on their pitch.

CONMEBOL Pick: Uruguay

Peru vs Chile

Friday, November 15, 2024

Peru has a single victory in their last 5 but although the Peruvians aren’t dominating any opponents, they’re the much better pick in this matchup over the disaster that is Chile.

The Chileans have lost 4 straight FIFA World Cup Qualifying matches.

In their last 2 road WC qualifiers versus Argentina and Colombia, Chile has lost by a combined 7 goals to 0.

Peru pounces with a multiple goal win.

CONMEBOL Pick: Peru

CONMEBOL World Cup Qualifying Matches: Picks on the Matchday 8 and Odds to Win

Previous Betting News

In terms of qualifying for the World Cup, CONMEBOL might be one of the most forgiving paths to the tournament.

The group is made up of 10 South American nations, with the top 6 gaining qualification, while the 7th place finisher goes into a playoff.

My CONMEBOL World Cup Qualifying Analysis

We are 7 games into the qualifying stage and the battle for those 6 automatic spots is raging on.

Tuesday night will see us head into Matchday 8, with a full slate of games featuring all 10 teams.

Who will rise and who will fall? Let’s take a closer look at all 5 CONMEBOL qualifying games.

Colombia +174 vs Argentina +178

This looks to me to be the best game on the Tuesday schedule. Argentina sits at the top of the group with 18 points from their 7 games.

They have scored 11 and surrendered just twice. Colombia is in 3rd with 13 points, and while they have been solid defensively, goals have been hard to come by.

Colombia has scored 7 times in qualifying. This matchup tends to be tight and defensive, so let’s follow that trend.

Chile -370 vs Bolivia +980

As it stands at the moment, both of these teams are below the cut line, so this is an absolutely massive game.

Chile has just 5 points through 7 games, scoring just 3 times while surrendering 10 goals.

Bolivia is a point ahead of their opponent, and while they have found the net 8 times, they have been defensively porous, surrendering 14 goals.

I think we will get goals here, and I like Chile for the home win.

Ecuador -244 vs Peru +760

It is Ecuador currently clinging to the final automatic qualification spot, picking up 8 points from their opening 7 games.

Scoring 4 and giving up 5 during that stretch, Ecuador tends to keep things tight.

Peru is in dire need of a result if they are to stay in the hunt for a top 6 spot, as they are currently sitting bottom of the group with just 3 points.

Don’t expect anything in the way of offense here, as I like Ecuador to edge it.

Venezuela +214 vs Uruguay +142

If you are looking for a game likely to produce goals, then this might be the way to go.

Uruguay has been fun to watch in this group, scoring 13 times and surrendering 5 in their 7 games, including a 4-1 win over their opponent this evening.

Venezuela is down in the #6 spot right now and will be hoping for better at home than they delivered in their thrashing during their visit to Uruguay, but I’m not so sure if they get what they want.

Paraguay +530 vs Brazil -175

If the qualifying was to end today, Venezuela would have clinched the playoff spot in 7th, but they will be looking to climb higher.

They have scored 6 times and given up 7 in qualifying to this point. Brazil has not looked like the team we expect thus far, but they are coming off a win that moved them up to #4 in the group.

I think they win again here, but I also think it won’t be entirely convincing.

CONMEBOL World Cup Qualifying Matches: Picks on the Matchday 7 and Odds to Win

P revious Betting News

The World Cup is still a couple of years away, but the qualifying has already begun, which should give you an idea of the vast scope of the tournament.

The European teams are still waiting to see which groups they will be in for qualifying, with that draw set to come later in the year, after the group phase of the Nations League.

My CONMEBOL World Cup Qualifying Analysis

While the Europeans wait, things are already underway in South America, with CONMEBOL qualifying games on the schedule for Friday night.

The top 6 teams in this qualifying group automatically move on, while the 7th placed team goes into a playoff.

The big surprise right now is that Brazil is down in 6th after 6 games, so they will be looking to put that right.

Let’s take a closer look at the 3 games coming our way this evening.

Uruguay -242 vs Paraguay +730

After 6 games, Uruguay finds themselves sitting in 2nd in the group, 5 points off the pace being set by Argentina.

While they cannot get to the top with a win this evening, they will want to cement their position and stay on the heels of the leaders.

Uruguay has struggled of late, though, winning just once in their last 5 games, although they did have 3 ties in there, too.

Paraguay are sitting down in 8th and need a win to get back into the automatic qualification spots, but they do not look capable of getting the win they need at the moment, as they come into this one having lost 4 in a row.

This will not be a slam dunk win for the home team, but I do like Uruguay to grind out the win in what will be Luis Suarez’s final international appearance.

Brazil -270 vs Ecuador +810

What we are seeing right now is not the Brazil team that we have become so accustomed to over the years.

They are lacking that killer instinct at the moment and have had to settle for 4 draws and a win in their last 5 games.

You do fancy their chances to get back on track, though, and they would leapfrog Ecuador in the standings with a win in this one.

Ecuador is currently 1 point up on their opponent this evening and have reached that point by playing some tight, defensive football.

They have managed just 5 goals in their 6 qualifying games, but they have also surrendered a mere 3 goals, so they are going to be tough to break down.

Brazil is unbeaten in their last 8 meetings with Ecuador, winning 5 and drawing 3, so I think they eke out the result in this one.

Peru +450 vs Colombia -130

This has been a qualifying campaign to forget for Peru, as they have managed to pick up just 2 points through 6 games.

They have scored just once in those 6 games, surrendering 8 goals in the process, and need to turn things around rather quickly if they are to have any shot at getting back into the picture.

That turnaround seems unlikely to start this evening against a very good Colombia team.

They are sitting in 3rd at the moment, picking up 12 points from their 6 games. A win here would put them in a very good place in terms of qualifying.

It’s just tough to see where the goals are going to come from for Peru, who I believe will struggle again tonight.

Venezuela vs Chile

Tuesday, October 17th at 5:00 pm ET
Brazil

Both squads are playing well enough to win this. The difference is that Chile beat Venezuela in the last head-to-head via a 3-0 score. But Venezuela is much different now than they were in 2021 when the last head-to-head happened.

The 2023 Venezuelan side beat Paraguay 1-0 on September 12.

Then in their last on October 12, Venezuela drew against Brazil in a 1-1 match. What’s important to note about that game is that it happened in Brazil. Venezuela tackles Chile on their pitch at the Estadio Monumental de Maturin. Backing the home team makes sense.

CONMEBOL Odds: Paraguay -1.5 -125; Bolivia +1.5 -101

Although Paraguay has lost 2 straight, the home side has excuses. The Paraguyans were on the road when they lost to Venezuela. Argentina beat Paraguay in the Paraguayans last. Once again, Paraguay was the road squad.

Bolivia has dropped 4 straight. 2 of the 4 losses happened via double-digit goals. Paraguay is itching for a victory and will be all out to dominate Bolivia. Lay the 1.5 to cash.

Ecuador vs Colombia

CONMEBOL Odds: Ecuador +111; Colombia +255
Tuesday, October 17th at 7:30 pm ET
Brazil

Colombia is playing decent soccer but the road squad is going to find it difficult to win on Tuesday. After 3 wins, 2 of the victories were international friendlies, Colombia has drawn in their last couple of matches.

Ecuador has won 4-of-5. The Ecuadorians only loss in the current form cycle came in a road match against Argentina. At the odds, the home team is more than playable.

Uruguay vs Brazil

CONMEBOL Odds: Uruguay +285; Brazil -102
Tuesday, October 17th at 8:00 pm ET
Brazil

A couple of former World Cup winners step onto the pitch at the Estadio Centenario in Uruguay when the underdog Uruguayans host one of the best national teams in the world, Brazil.

Uruguay is the underdog because the home squad shows a loss and a draw in their last couple of matches. Uruguay fell to Ecuador 2-1. Then in their last, Uruguay drew 2-2 against Colombia.

Brazil is in better form. However, the Brazilians drew versus Venezuela in their last. Not only that, but Uruguay’s 2 losses were road matches. The odds make Uruguay the play.

Peru vs Argentina

CONMEBOL Odds: Peru +1.5 -145; Argentina -1.5 +114

Brazil

Peru’s quest for a 2026 World Cup berth isn’t going well. The Peruvians have a single point, which means they’re tied with Paraguay and ahead of Bolivia by a point.

Argentina is rolling. The Albiceleste has 9 points, 2 points ahead of Brazil and 4 points ahead of Colombia.

Because this happens on Peru’s pitch, the home team is a decent play at +1.5. But laying -145 on Peru versus the defending World Cup champs is difficult. Argentina gets the nod.

Both teams are playing great soccer. Colombia has the edge because this match happens on their pitch.

Not only that, but Colombia has won 4-of-5 with a draw. Granted, 3 of the wins were in international friendly matches. However, 1 of the victories came via a 2-0 score against Germany.

Uruguay lost their last 2-1 to Ecuador. The match happened in Ecuador. The Ecuadorians are tough to beat on their grass. Before losing to Ecuador, Uruguay had won 4 straight, including beating Chile 3-1 on Sep 8. Uruguay is worth a look because of the overlay odds. But a better play is on the draw, which has happened in the last 2 head-to-head matches.

The defending World Cup champs haven’t missed a beat. Since winning the WC in December last year, the Albiceleste has won 6 straight.

Lionel Messi trained with Argentina a couple of days ago in preparation for this match. Argentina is taking every international contest seriously. To make matters more difficult for Paraguay, the road team in this isn’t playing well.

Messi may not step onto the pitch in this. Even if Lionel doesn’t play, Argentina covers the handicap spread. The Argentinians get it done.

The Ecuadorians have become one of the better soccer nations in CONMENBOL. On Thursday, Ecuador’s rise should continue.

Bolivia has lost 4-of-5 and 3 straight. In their first 2 FIFA WC Qualifying matches, Brazil blasted Bolivia 5-1. Then against Argentina, Bolivia lost 3-0.

Ecuador’s only loss in their last 5 came versus Argentina in Argentina. Also, the loss was 1-0. At +102 odds, Ecuador is an overlay.

The road dog in this has 2 loses and a draw in their last 3. Home squad Chile shows 2 draws and a loss in their last 3.

Chile’s loss came versus Uruguay on the road. For sure, the Chileans can bounce back in this with a quality win. But the odds imply Peru has no chance, which isn’t the case.

Peru lost to Brazil 1-0 in their last, which tells us Peru is playing great soccer. So although Chile is a decent play, backing Peru at the odds to score the upset makes sense.

Venezuela is playing well enough to keep any loss to within 2 goals. The Venezuelans have won 3-of-4 with a 1-goal loss to Colombia.

Brazil has also won 3-of-4. Brazil’s loss came in an international friendly versus Senegal. If we throw out the loss, Brazil offers decent odds to win this by at least 3 goals. Brazil beat Bolivia 5-1 on Sep 8. We should expect a similar score in Thursday’s match versus Venezuela.

In the last match between Bolivia and Argentina, in September 2021, the Argentinians blasted Bolivia 3-0. The Albiceleste is much different now than they were then, which is why we can back Argentina at decent -166 odds.

Home squad Bolivia has 3 losses and a draw in their last 4. In their first FIFA WC qualifier, Brazil dominated the Bolivians 5-1. It’s tough seeing Bolivia bouncing back. Argentina, who beat Ecuador 1-0 in their first WC qualifier, is the pick.

Ecuador is a massive favorite. On one hand, it makes sense. Ecuador played great soccer versus Argentina in a 1-0 loss in their last.

But on the other hand, it makes no sense. Uruguay is on a nice 4-match winning streak. If we go back 5 matches, Uruguay drew 1-1 against Japan in an international friendly. So the Uruguayans are in terrific form. Although Ecuador should win this, we can’t look past Uruguay’s odds.

Venezuela vs Paraguay | Matchday 2

CONMEBOL Odds: Venezuela +0.5; Paraguay -0.5 / Venezuela +162; Paraguay +188; Draw +212 / O/U 2.5

Estadio Monumental, Maturín, Venezuela

Venezuela versus Paraguay should be an exceptional match. Both teams played well in their first FIFA World Cup Qualifying contest. Venezuela lost to Colombia via a 1-0 score.

Paraguay drew 0-0 against Peru. Paraguay has won the last couple of head-to-head matchups. But the games happened in 2020 and 2021. Venezuela is a much different team now than they were then.

The Venezuelans take on their rivals on their pitch in Maturin. For sure, Venezuela will be fired up. At the end, though, Paraguay is the slightly better squad. The road team forces a draw.

Tuesday, Sep 12 at 8:30 pm ET
Estadio Monumental David Arellano, Santiago, Chile

The home team dog in this, Chile, shows 3 wins, a draw and a loss in their last 5. The reason Colombia is the favorite is because Chile’s 3 victories came in international friendly matches.

Outside of the international friendlies, Chile drew against Bolivia and lost to Uruguay 3-1 on Sep 8. Colombia isn’t dominating, but they have won 4 straight. The road team plays well enough for a victory.

Peru vs Brazil | Matchday 2

CONMEBOL Odds: Peru +1.5; Brazil -1.5 / Peru +800; Brazil -294; Draw +420 / O/U 2.5

It’s been a while since Brazil sent a team to the pitch that had the talent and was cohesive enough to win the World Cup. While leaning on players like Neymar and Raphinha, Brazil hopes to develop their young stars by the time the World Cup cycle returns.

Brazil blasted Bolivia 5-1 in their first WC qualifier. The Brazilians should win this by at least 2 and a 3 goal victory is possible.

Paraguay vs Peru

CONMEBOL Odds: Paraguay -0.5; Peru +0.5 / Paraguay +101; Peru +280; Draw +246 / O/U 2.5
Thursday, September 7th at 6:30 pm ET
Mâs Monumental, Buenos Aires, Argentina

The match happens at Ciudad del Este in Paraguay, which is why the Paraguayans are the favorites. Another reason Paraguay shows up the chalk is because the home squad broke a 3-match international friendly losing streak in their last via a 2-0 score over Nicaragua.

The match happened this past June. It feels like a long time ago, but in international play, 2 to 3 months isn’t that long of a time.

But although Paraguay appears to be playing well and this happens on their pitch, it’s tough to go against Peru. The road underdog offers overlay odds based on the head-to-head record.

Going back to the Copa America in 2021, Peru has won 4 straight. The Peruvians have Paraguay’s number and the odds are more than fair. Give the road squad a chance to pull off the upset victory.

Colombia vs Venezuela

CONMEBOL Odds: Colombia -1.5 +105; Venezuela +1.5 -134 / Colombia -280; Venezuela +840; Draw +390 / O/U 2.5
Thursday, September 7th at 7:00 pm ET
Metropolitano Roberto Meléndez, Barranquilla, Colombia

Both teams roll into this. Road dog Venezuela has won 4-of-5. In all 5 matches, even the loss to Uzbekistan, Venezuela played terrific defense. The Venezuelans beat Honduras and Guatemala via 1-0 scores.

The Venezuelans gave up a single goal to Syria and Saudi Arabia in 2-1 victories. The road underdog only gave up 1 goal in the loss to Uzbekistan, falling via penalty kicks.

Home squad Colombia is in as good of form as Venezuela. The Colombians drew against the United States and South Korea in international friendlies in January and March.

Then in their last three, Colombia beat Japan 2-1, Iraq 1-0, and in an international friendly surprise, Germany 2-0 on June 20. The Colombians beat Venezuela in the last head-to-head, a FIFA World Cup qualifying match in 2022.

This Colombia side is better than that one. A cover victory is more than possible and the payout odds, +107, are nice.

FIFA World Cup Qualifying CONMEBOL Pick: Colombia -1.5 | Bet Colombia vs Venezuela

Argentina vs Ecuador

CONMEBOL Odds: Argentina -1.5 -114; Ecuador +1.5 -110 / Argentina -330; Ecuador +960 Draw +430 / O/U 2.5
Thursday, September 7th at 8:00 pm ET
Mâs Monumental, Buenos Aires, Argentina

The match happens at Mas Monumental in Buenos Aires, Argentina, which could explain why the Argentinians show a -114 payout even though we must lay -1.5 on the home squad.

But even at the disappointing payout, Argentina is tough to ignore. The World Cup winners didn’t let up after beating France via penalties after a 3-3 match, rolling to four straight international friendly victories.

Argentina has dusted Panama 2-0, Curacao 7-0, Australia 2-0, and Indonesia 2-0. Ah, but although Argentina has looked great, Ecuador has played the better competition, especially Costa Rica in a 3-1 win on June 20.

The favorite should take this. But the Albiceleste won’t win by more than a goal. Ecuador is a great play at +1.5 -110.

Previous Betting News

CONMENBOL FIFA World Cup Qualifying continues on March 24 with plenty at stake for teams like Colombia, Uruguay, Ecuador, and Peru. Brazil and Argentina have stamped their WC tickets. But Ecuador has 25 points, Uruguay 22, Peru 21, and Colombia just 17. Chile shows 19 points. So the Chileans also have a lot at stake. Check out FIFA World Cup Qualifiers odds, analysis, and a free pick for Thursday’s CONMENBOL FIFA WC Qualifying matches.

CONMEBOL World Cup Qualifying Matches to Bet this Week: Tuesday, Mar. 24th

Peru +580 vs Uruguay -169

When: March 24 at 7:30 pm ET

Uruguay has the edge because not only does this happen at Estadio Centenario on Uruguay’s pitch, but the Uruguayans head into this on a 2-match winning streak.

On Jan. 27, Uruguay beat Paraguay 1-0. Then on Feb. 1, Uruguay dominated Venezuela 4-1.

Peru, though, is in good enough form to pull off the upset win. The Peruvians show 3 wins and 2 draws in their last 5. Peru and Uruguay drew in the last head-to-head. Another draw could happen, but in this, the odds make the road dog more than playable.

Soccer Pick: Peru

Chile +1 +107 vs Brazil -2 -135

When: March 24 at 7:30 pm ET

Versus Brazil, Chile is up against it. The road underdog heads into this off a victory, a 3-2 contest versus Bolivia, but, going all the way back to 2015, Brazil had beaten Chile in 5 straight.

The last Brazilian win happened on Sep. 2. Brazil beat Chile 1-0. Brazil cold dominate the Chileans by more than 2 goals in this. But before dumping on Brazil, it’s important to note that Chile will be desperate and Brazil might rest key players. At +1 +107, Chile is the play.

Soccer Pick: Chile

Bolivia +2 ½ -123 vs Colombia -2 ½ -103

When: March 24 at 7:30 pm ET

Neither squad appears destined to win this. Colombia is too much of a chalk to back on the handicap. Bolivia is a decent play at +2 ½ -123.

But neither squad is in great form. Colombia has lost 2 straight. So has Bolivia. The pair drew in the last head-to-head. Colombia, no doubt, should win this. But laying -2 ½ is a bad idea. So if you like Bolivia, grab the +2 ½ at the fair price. If not, consider the draw.

Soccer Pick: Bolivia

Ecuador +150 vs Paraguay +210

When: March 24 at 7:30 pm ET

Paraguay has lost 4 with a draw in their last 5. The home team offers decent odds to grab a win, though.

But Ecuador is in much better form. The road favorite has won twice and drawn three times in their last 5. Ecuador dusted Peru 2-0 in the last head-to-head. The Ecuadorians know they must win this game to ensure a WC spot. Give the road team the nod.

Soccer Pick: Ecuador

Venezuela +2 -119 vs Argentina -2 -106

When: March 24 at 7:30 pm ET

Venezuela is a terrible team, but Argentina mustn’t win this game. Still, it’s tough to back Venezuela to beat Argentina.

The handicap odds make Venezuela a decent play. Argentina won’t go all out to embarrass the Venezuelans. With 2 goals to work with, Venezuela should grab a victory on the handicap.

Soccer Pick: Venezuela

CONMEBOL World Cup Qualifying Matches to Bet this Week: Tuesday, Feb. 1st

Chile +190 vs Bolivia +143

When: Feb. 1

Both teams are in decent enough form to win this, which is why although this happens on Bolivia’s pitch, Chile is the play.

On Jan. 27, Argentina beat Chile 2-1. But Chile’s loss was much more impressive than Bolivia’s loss on the same day, a 4-1 beating versus Venezuela. Bolivia fell to Chile by a goal in the last head-to-head. At the odds, the Chileans are an overlay.

Soccer Pick: Chile

Venezuela +1 ½ -126 vs Uruguay -1 ½ -104

When: Feb. 1

Both squads head into this off wins, which means this could be a close match. But the odds don’t justify backing Venezuela. Yes, Venezuela dominated Bolivia with 4 goals.

The Venezuelans had lost their 3 previous matches, though. Uruguay had lost their 4 previous matches before beating Paraguay in their last. But that’s the difference. Uruguay beat Paraguay while Venezuela beat Bolivia. The real Uruguayan team should show up on Tuesday. Laying the 1 ½ goals makes sense.

Soccer Pick: Uruguay

Colombia +310 vs Argentina -109

When: Feb. 1

Argentina has won 4-of-5 with a draw. So although Argentina mustn’t win this, we should expect the Argentinians to give it all they can.

Colombia has forced 2 straight draws in the last couple of head-to-head matches, though. Not only that, but Colombia requires a victory after dropping a WC qualifying match to Peru on Jan. 28. There’s more at stake for the Colombians than the Argentinians, making the road team the play.

Soccer Pick: Colombia

Paraguay +1 ½ -102 vs Brazil -1 ½ -129

When: Feb. 1

Paraguay has lost 4-of-5 with a draw. On June 8 last year, Brazil dominated Paraguay 2-0. We could expect a similar outcome, but most likely won’t get it.

Brazil has qualified for the 2022 World Cup, which is one of the reasons the Brazilians have drawn in two straight. Paraguay could win this on the moneyline. However, the better pick is the draw. Brazil will do just enough to prevent Paraguay from grabbing the outright victory.

Soccer Pick: Draw

Ecuador +225 vs Peru +125

When: Feb. 1

Peru is on fire. The Peruvians have won 4-of-5, including beating Colombia 1-0 on Jan. 28. But although Peru looks like the solid play, Ecuador has a shot.

The road team has won 3-of-5 with a couple of draws. Ecuador drew against Brazil in their last. This is an important match because Ecuador has 24 points and Peru has 20. Because this happens on Peru’s pitch, the home squad gets the nod.

Soccer Pick: Peru

CONMEBOL World Cup Qualifying Matches to Bet this Week: Thursday to Friday

Brazil +129 vs Ecuador +210

When: Thursday, Jan. 27

Both teams are in decent form. Brazil shows 3 wins and a couple of draws. The draws happened versus Colombia and Argentina.

Ecuador has also won 3 with a couple of draws. Ecuador’s draws happened versus Colombia in a World Cup Qualifier and against El Salvador in their last. The match versus El Salvador happened in an international friendly.

Although Brazil always plays well, they mustn’t win this game. The Brazilians have already qualified for the WC. Ecuador is much more motivated. If they’re ever going to beat Brazil, Thursday is the day.

Soccer Pick: Ecuador

Uruguay +144 vs Paraguay +205

When: Thursday, Jan. 27

Neither squad is in good form. Paraguay is a mess with 3 losses and a couple of draws in their last 5.

As badly as Paraguay has played, though, Uruguay has played worse. The Uruguayans have lost 4 straight World Cup qualifiers: 0-3 versus Argentina, 1-4 against Brazil, 0-1 agianst Argentina, and in a huge upset, 0-3 versus Bolivia.

Uruguay is reeling. But the road squad beat Paraguay 1-0 in the last head-to-head, a Copa America match. Also, Uruguay must win to keep their WC hopes alive. Give the road squad the nod.

Soccer Pick: Uruguay

Argentina +190 vs Chile +147

When: Thursday, Jan. 27

Chile versus Argentina projects as the most competitive CONMENBOL matchup of the week. Both teams are in good enough form to warrant a look.

Argentina has qualified for the World Cup, which means they’re not likely to push for the victory here. So the real question is Chile good enough to beat the Argentinians?

They are, but at +147 the Chileans are an underlay. Chile and Argentina have drawn in 3 straight head-to-head matches. Because Argentina won’t go all out for the victory, we can expect Chile to control possession. But that doesn’t mean Chile wins this. The draw looks promising.

Soccer Pick: Draw

Peru +420 vs Colombia -149

When: Friday, Jan. 28

Heading into this round of World Cup Qualifying, Colombia and Peru both have 17 points. Their match on Friday is one of the most important in CONMENBOL.

Colombia gets the benefit of the doubt because this happens on their pitch. But Peru is in better form. The Peruvians have won 3-of-4 with a draw in their last 4. These two have split the last couple of head-to-head contests. Colombia is an underlay at -149 while Peru is an overlay at +420. At those odds, Peru is the play.

Soccer Pick: Peru

Bolivia +370 vs Venezuela -138

When: Friday, Jan. 28

Venezuela hasn’t played well enough in their last 5 to warrant -138 odds. Yes, the Venezuelans are at home for this.

But they’ve got a single victory in their last 5 matches. Bolivia has won 4-of-5. The Bolivians blasted Trinidad and Tobago 5-0 in an international friendly in their last. Before the win over Trinidad, Bolivia dominated Uruguay 3-0. Maybe, Bolivia is a good soccer club. At overlay odds, the Bolivians are worth a look.

CONMEBOL World Cup Qualifying Matches to Bet On Tuesday

Uruguay +106 vs Bolivia +255

When: Tuesday, Nov. 16

Among the two teams, Bolivia is playing better soccer overall. But it’s difficult, impossible really, to back the Bolivians versus Uruguay.

Uruguay should be one of South America’s best teams. But the Uruguayans have lost 3 straight. To be fair, though, two losses happened against Argentina and the other loss occurred versus Brazil.

In the last head-to-head, Uruguay dusted Bolivia 4-2. The Bolivians fell 0-3 to Peru in their last. Uruguay looks like one of the best soccer plays of the day.

FIFA World Cup Qualifying Pick: Uruguay

Peru +147 vs Venezuela +205

When: Tuesday, Nov. 16

Venezuela hast lost 4-of-5 with the lone victory a 2-1 match agianst Ecuador on Oct. 10. The Venezuelans fell 0-1 to Peru on Sep. 5.

This match happens in Venezuela, which is one of the reasons the home squad isn’t more of an underdog. Venezuela is good enough to not lose this by more than a goal. But they’re not good enough to secure a win or to play for a draw. Peru offers overlay odds, making them the pick.

FIFA World Cup Qualifying Pick: Peru

Paraguay +500 vs Colombia -175

When: Tuesday, Nov. 16

Colombia shows 3 draws, a loss, and a win in their last 5. The form is suspect, but on Tuesday, Colombia should dominate Paraguay.

The Paraguyans are in awful form. Since an impressive 0-0 draw versus Argentina on Oct. 7, Paraguay has fallen apart, with 3 straight losses, to Chile twice and Bolivia once.

Colombia’s lone loss in their last 5 happened against Brazil. The Colombians should get it done. Even at -175, the home team is the play.

FIFA World Cup Qualifying Pick: Colombia

Brazil +210 vs Argentina +108

Brazil and Argentina roll into this contest. Argentina is in the slightly better form, having won 4-of-5. Argentina also beat Brazil 1-0 to win the Copa America earlier this year.

Brazil dominated Uruguay 4-1 on Oct. 13 and then beat Colombia 1-0 in their last. Both teams have a chance to win this. But, right now, Argentina has Brazil’s number. The home team gets the call.

FIFA World Cup Qualifying Pick: Argentina

Ecuador +350 vs Chile -121

When: Tuesday, Nov. 16

Chile is in excellent form. The Chileans are on a 3-match winning streak with victories against Paraguay twice and Venezuela once.

Ecuador is also in good form. The Ecuadorians have won two in a row. One of the victories, though, was versus Mexico in an international friendly.

These two drew 0-0 in the last head-to-head. Don’t expect a similar outcome because this happens on Chile’s pitch. The Chileans win.

CONMEBOL World Cup Qualifying Matches to Bet On Thursday

Paraguay +220 vs Bolivia +126

When: Thursday, Oct. 14

Bolivia used to be one of CONMENBOL’s worst teams. But on Oct. 10, the Bolivians upset the Peruvians 1-0. This happens on Bolivia’s pitch, which gives them a big advantage.

The odds on Bolivia, though, makes them unplayable. Paraguay fell to Chile in their last and it wasn’t close. However, losing 0-2 should motivate the Paraguayans. The road squad is the play.

Soccer Pick: Paraguay

Ecuador +400 vs Colombia -144

When: Thursday, Oct. 14

Colombia has drawn in 4-of-5. Although that doesn’t make Colombia a solid choice against Ecuador on Thursday, it does make them the play.

As much as we’d like to back Ecuador at the odds, the Ecuadorians head into this off one of their worst losses in history. Venezuela is a horrendous soccer team. Somehow, the Venezuelans beat Ecuador 2-1.

There’s no way Ecuador mentally gets past that enough to challenge Colombia. The home team rolls.

Soccer Pick: Colombia

Peru +1 ½ (-102) vs Argentina -1 ½ (-129)

When: Thursday, Oct. 14

Argentina has won 4-of-5 with a draw. The draw happened against Paraguay on Oct. 7. On Oct. 10, Argentina blasted Uruguay 3-0.

Peru fell to Bolivia in their last. The last time these two played, Argentina won 2-0.

Although the odds make Peru the more profitable play on the handicap, it’s difficult seeing the Peruvians keeping this close. Argentina is playing like a World Cup favorite. They should win and cover.

Soccer Pick: Argentina

Venezuela +1 ½ (-163) vs Chile -1 ½ (+122)

When: Thursday, Oct. 14

Before upsetting Ecuador, Venezuela had lost four straight. On Thursday, the Venezuelans should play like the one that lost four straight, not the one that upset Ecuador.

Chile finally got a victory when they beat Paraguay 2-0 in their last. The Chileans can’t mess around. If they hope to have any shot of making next year’s World Cup, they must dominate Venezuela. Chile covers the handicap.

Soccer Pick: Chile

Uruguay +1 ½ (-192) vs Brazil -1 ½ (+143)

When: Thursday, Oct. 14

Brazil is so good they spotted Venezuela a goal in their last World Cup qualifier and still beat the Venezuelans 3-1. Don’t expect Brazil to spot Uruguay any goals.

Brazil wants to put any doubts to rest. Doing so means Brazil dominates an Uruguayan squad that fell by 3 goals to Argentina on Oct. 10. Lay the goal and a half.

CONMEBOL FIFA World Cup Qualifying matches continue on Sunday. No doubt the day’s top match pits Uruguay against Messi and Argentina. Also on tap are matchups between Peru and Bolivia, Ecuador versus Venezuela, Paraguay versus Chile, and a classic South American battle between Brazil and Colombia. Check out FIFA World Cup odds, analysis, and free picks for this Sunday’s CONMEBOL WC qualifiers.

FIFA World Cup Qualifying Games – CONMEBOL – Oct. 10

Peru +129 vs. Bolivia +220

When: Sunday, Oct. 10

Bolivia’s 1-1 draw with Colombia on Sep. 2 shows that, at times, the Bolivians can hang with CONMEBOL’s best teams.

Also on Sep. 2, Peru drew 1-1 with Uruguay. The Peruvians followed up the draw with a 1-0 victory against Venezuela on Sep. 5 and an 0-2 loss to Brazil on Sep. 9.

The Peruvians face arguably the worst team in CONMEBOL on Sunday. The Peruvians pushed Brazil at the Copa America earlier this year. They should have no trouble grabbing a victory over Bolivia.

Soccer Pick: Peru | Bet the Game Today

Ecuador +106 vs. Venezuela +265

When: Sunday, Oct. 10

One of the biggest debates in CONMEBOL is whether Venezuela or Bolivia is the worst team. Bolivia is bad. Venezuela may be worse.

Peru beat Venezuela 1-0 in a Copa America match in June. In September, Venezuela lost all 3 matches, 1-3 to Argentina, 1-0 to Peru and 2-1 to Paraguay.

Venezuela forced a 2-2 draw with Ecuador at the Copa. So there is some hope from Venezuela’s fans that they can hang with a quality team like Ecuador. But Ecuador drew with Chile on Sep. 5 and beat Paraguay 2-0 three days earlier on Sep. 2.

Ecuador has no excuses. They should easily beat Venezuela.

Soccer Pick: Ecuador | Bet the Game Today

Brazil +109 vs. Colombia +255

When: Sunday, Oct. 10

This should be an excellent match. Both teams are playing great. Brazil is as dominant as ever. The Brazilians beat Chile 1-0 on Sep. 2 and blasted Peru 2-0 on Sep. 9.

Colombia dusted Chile 3-1 on Sep. 9. In the last head-to-head, a Copa America match on June 23, Brazil prevailed, beating the Colombians 2-1. This match happens in Colombia, though.

Still, even though Colombia has home pitch advantage, Brazil is on another level. The Brazilians won’t lose this match.

Soccer Pick: Brazil | Bet the Game Today

Uruguay +350 vs. Argentina -129

When: Sunday, Oct. 10

One could look and see how Messi scored all three goals in Argentina’s 3-0 victory against Bolivia on Sep. 9 and assume the Copa America champs are Messi and no one else. That’s a mistake.

Argentina is loaded. Lautaro Martinez has scored 5 goals in 6 matches for Inter Milan. He’s on the cusp of becoming Argentina’s best player.

Nicolas Ontamendi starts for Benfica, the Portuguese Liga’s top team. Angel Correa, who often spells Martinez, starts for Atletico Madrid. Argentina is a top international team. They should have no trouble handling Uruguay on their home field.

Soccer Pick: Argentina | Bet the Game Today

Paraguay +295 vs. Chile -108

When: Sunday, Oct. 10

Chile didn’t have a great September, falling to Brazil 0-1, Colombia 3-1, and drawing 0-0 with Ecuador. But Chile is the home team, which is why they’re getting the benefit of the doubt.

Paraguay struggled in their first couple of matches in September, losing to Ecuador 0-2 and drawing with Colombia 1-1. The Paraguyans beat the Venezuelans 2-1 on Sep. 9.

At the Copa America, in the last head-to-head, Paraguay dusted Chile 2-0. The Paraguyans offer overlay odds while Chile’s odds make the home team an underlay.

FIFA World Cup Qualifiers Odds – CONMEBOL Matches To Bet On June 8th

Previous Betting News

On Sunday, May 13, South American nations battle in the 2021 Copa America. Before those matches take place, teams battle on Tuesday in FIFA World Cup Qualifying matches. Without a doubt, the most intriguing contest is between Argentina and Colombia. Check out analysis, FIFA World Cup Qualifiers odds and free picks for that match as well as four other WC qualifiers involving South American squads.

CONMEBOL World Cup Qualifying Matches to Bet On This Week

FIFA World Cup Qualifiers – CONMENBOL

When: Tuesday, June 8

Tuesday, June 8th Matches

Peru / Ecuador

Based on recent form, Ecuador has nothing to worry about. The Ecuadorians slammed the Colombians 6-1 on Nov. 17 last year. Then in a March 29 friendly against Bolivia, Ecuador beat their rivals 2-1. The 0-2 loss to Brazil on June 4 should worry nobody. Peru is on a 4-match losing streak. The underdog lost all 4 matches by at least 2 goals. Consider backing Ecuador on the handicap.

Soccer Pick: Ecuador

Uruguay / Venezuela

Venezuela isn’t in a great form. They’ve got a single victory in their last 5. The good news? The win happened against strong CONMENBOL squad Chile. But that win happened back on Nov. 17. In their last match, on June 3 against Bolivia, Venezuela fell 3-1. Uruguay drew 0-0 with Paraguay on June 3. No doubt, the Uruguayans should win this. Star players like Luis Suarez should have a field day against Venezuela’s defense. Here’s another where laying goals looks like the best bet.

Soccer Pick: Uruguay

Argentina / Colombia

Lionel Messi, Angel Di Maria, and Sergio Aguero lead Argentina onto the pitch versus Colombia. The Colombians beat Peru 3-0 in their last WC qualifier. Before the victory, though, Columbia had struggled. Uruguay dumped Colombia 3-0 on Nov. 13, 2020. Then three days later on Nov. 16 came the ridiculous 1-6 loss to Ecuador. Argentina rolls.

Soccer Pick: Argentina

Brazil / Paraguay

Does Paraguay have any shot against Brazil? To win, no. Brazil has won their last 3 World Cup qualifying matches by a combined 5-0. On Nov. 13 last year, the Brazilians beat the Venezuelans 1-0. Brazil beat Uruguay 2-0 on Nov. 17. Then on June 4 last week, Neymar and his mates bested Ecuador 2-0. But even though Brazil looks strong, Paraguay could frustrate the world’s third-ranked soccer team. Paraguay has a victory and 4 draws in their last 5 matches. The win happened against Venezuela. Paraguay may not win. They could force a draw.

Soccer Pick: Draw

Bolivia / Chile

Although Bolivia beat Venezuela 3-1 on June 3, it will be tough for them to score a goal against Chile. The Chileans are one of the better teams in South America. Chile drew 0-0 with Argentina in their June 3 match. Chile beat Bolivia 2-1 in an international friendly on May 26. Chile is the play.

Soccer Pick: Chile

CONMEBOL World Cup Qualifying Matches to Bet On This Week

FIFA World Cup Qualifiers – CONMEBOL

When: Thursday, June 3- Friday, June 4

Thursday, June 3rd Matches

Venezuela +272 / Bolivia -121

In the last head-to-head, Venezuela dominated Bolivia 4-1. Although the match happened a while ago, October 2019, recent form suggests road squad Venezuela has a shot. Bolivia has 4 losses and a draw in their last 5, including losing 4 World Cup qualifiers. Venezuela has lost 3-of-4 WC qualifying matches. But the Venezuelans beat Chile 2-1 in their last match.

Soccer Pick: Venezuela

Paraguay +368 / Uruguay -161

In this spot, it’s difficult to go against Uruguay. FIFA ranks Uruguay ninth in the world, a spot behind Argentina, and a spot ahead of Mexico and Germany. Atletico Madrid player Luis Suarez and Real Madrid midfielder Federico Valverde makes for a strong duo. Paraguay is a decent soccer team. But they shouldn’t stand up to the pressure Valverde and Suarez will put on their backers.

Soccer Pick: Uruguay

Chile +430 / Argentina -230

On paper, Argentina easily wins this. Lionel Messi, Angel Di Maria, and Sergio Aguero play for two of the top European clubs in the world. Messi throws down for Barcelona. Di Maria hits the pitch for Paris Saint-Germain, and Aguero recently signed to play with Barcelona. But motivation means something. Sometimes, Argentina doesn’t play with a lot of motivation, Chile, though, always seems to play hard. The draw is possible.

Soccer Pick: Draw

Colombia +119 / Peru +222

When Colombia and Peru throw down, it will be a battle between a couple of struggling soccer clubs. Last November, Colombia lost both of their FIFA World Cup Qualifying matches. Neither was close. Uruguay dominated the Colombians 3-0. Ecuador blasted Colombia 6-1. Peru has lost 3 straight WC qualifiers. Peru knows they must win this to have any shot of making next year’s World Cup. Because they’re motivated, the home team should show up big time.

Soccer Pick: Peru

Friday, June 4th Match

Ecuador +1 ½ (-104) / Brazil -1 ½ (-105)

Brazil and Ecuador are on fire. The Brazilians have won 5 straight. Ecuador has won 4 straight. Brazil should win this match. But Ecuador is a better than decent play on the handicap. The Ecuadorians can score and the defense is solid, which means Brazil wins by a single goal. We’re backing Ecuador at +1 ½.

Soccer Pick: Ecuador
