Quarter-Finals are Here

The Round of 16 is complete at Roland Garros and we’re into the quarter-finals, which begin Tuesday with some exciting matches involving top-10 players going head-to-head in both the men’s and women’s draws.

While the current favorites often command attention, the French Open’s allure lies in its potential for captivating upsets.

Men’s Quarter-Finals | Top Matches

Novak Djokovic vs. Casper Ruud

Novak Djokovic, the world No. 1 and defending French Open champion, meets Casper Ruud in the first of two quarter-final matches on Wednesday.

Djokovic beat Ruud in the final of last year’s French Open and is 5-1 in his career against the Norwegian, but there’s plenty of signs to fade Djokovic in this match.

Ruud beat Djokovic for the first time in their most recent meeting at the Rolex Monte-Carlo Masters.

Djokovic hasn’t been nearly as dominant this season as in year’s past and had to rally down 2-1 to beat Francisco Cerundolo in the Round of 16.

He also dealt with a right knee injury during the match and is due to undergo a scan today.

He even expressed doubt that he might not play in the quarters.

Stefanos Tsitsipas vs. Carlos Alcaraz

Stefanos Tsitsipas and world No. 3 and two-time grand slam winner Carlos Alcaraz meet in the first of two incredible quarter-final matches on Tuesday.

Outside of dropping a set in his second-round match against qualifier Jesper de Jong, Alcaraz has been perfect through four matches as he pushes to win for the first time at Roland Garros and move to within one grand slam – the Australian Open – of winning the career grand slam.

Tistipas, meanwhile, has lost just two sets and is coming off of an impressive 3-6, 7-6 (4), 6-2, 6-2 win over Matteo Arnaldi.

The world No. 9 is having a great year, going 17-3 on clay courts and winning in Monte-Carlo, but is 0-5 in his career against Alcaraz.

In fact, Alcaraz has three wins against Tsitsipas on clay, including a straight set victory in last year’s French Open. Expect a similar result on Tuesday.

Alexander Zverev vs. Alex de Minaur

Alex de Minaur is having his best season ever on clay with a record of 10-4. He was 4-5 on the surface last season.

Yet, he’ll need to elevate his game even more to beat Alexander Zverev, who is 14-3 on clay and is coming off of his first tournament win of the season at the Italian Open.

Zverev is also 7-2 in nine career matches against de Minaur, including 1-0 on clay, beating him at the 2022 Italian Open.

Zverev rallied down 2-1 against Holger Rune in the Round of 16 for an emotional victory and should leverage that momentum to advance past de Minaur.

Grigor Dimitrov vs. Jannik Sinner

Assuming Jannik Sinner, winner of the 2024 Australian Open, can beat Grigor Dimitrov, he would likely face Alcaraz in the semi-final in a match that tennis fans have been waiting for.

Sinner, who responded with three dominant set victories after dropping his opening set in the Round of 16 against Corentin Moutet, is 3-1 in his career against Dimitrov.

However, Dimitrov’s lone win against Sinner came at the 2020 Italian Open on clay courts.

Sinner has won his last three matches against Dimitrov and has been the most dominant player on the ATP Tour this season.

He’s 32-2 overall and 10-1 on clay courts. Dimitrov is 28-8 with an 8-3 record on clay.

Women’s Quarter-Finals | Top Matches

Jasmine Paolini vs. Elena Rybakina

Elena Rybakina is 2-1 against Jasmine Paolini and both of those victories came on clay, so expect a similar result when the two players meet in the first of two women’s quarter-finals on Wednesday.

Rybakina beat Paolini 6-3, 5-7, 6-3 on clay earlier this season in Stuttgart and also beat her in the 2022 Italian Open.

She is 12-1 on clay this season and has three tournament victories.

Mirra Andreeva vs. Aryna Sabalenka

Mirra Andreeva is one of the best young up-and-coming players in the women’s game and, while she has taken a big step at Roland Garros, the 17-year-old Russian is in tough against Aryna Sabalenka, who seemingly doesn’t lose at grand slams.

Sabalenka won the Australian Open, her sole victory of the season, and has only dropped one set through four matches at Roland Garros.

She’s 2-0 against Andreeva and beat her 6-1, 6-4 in Madrid earlier this season.

French Open Finals Predictions | ATP/WTA Betting

Alcaraz feels like he’s poised to win this tournament finally.

It appears as though we’re in for a Jannik Sinner-Carlos Alcaraz semi-final showdown in the men’s draw.

Regardless, Alcaraz is a good pick to advance through that half of the bracket.

Ruud is the safe pick on the other side as Djokovic’s play and injury issues are concerning.

In the women’s draw, Coco Gauff won early Tuesday morning and will play the winner of the Iga Swiatek and Marketa Vondrousova quarter-final in the semi-finals.

All signs point to another grand slam showdown between Swiatek and Sabalenka.

Alcaraz and Zverev is the most likely outcome at this point.

2023 French Open Quarter-Finals Taking Shape

Previous Betting News

The second week of action at Roland Garros is underway, and, while there have been some notable early round upsets, the quarter-finals are taking shape seemingly as expected. Top seeds Novak Djokovic and Carlos Alcaraz are into the quarter-finals in the men’s draw, while Iga Swiatek, the overwhelming favorite in the women’s draw, has cruised through her first four matches.

Let’s take a quick look at the remaining French Open outright lines as of Monday and preview some of the must-bet quarterfinal matches.

Must-Bet French Open Quarter-Finals Taking Shape | MyBookie Roland Garros Preview

Stefanos Tsitsipas (+320) vs. Carlos Alcaraz (-526)

This is perhaps the most highly-anticipated and expected matchup of the 2023 French Open. Both Alcaraz and Tsitsipas are among the best clay court players on tour and were the top two seeds in their quarter of the bracket.

Alcaraz is 4-0 against Tsitsipas in head-to-head matches, but both players are looking equally as dominant at Roland Garros, having each only dropped one set through four matches. Alcaraz has a slightly better win percentage on clay and the 20-year-old is looking to fill the shoes of fellow Spaniard Rafael Nadal, who was forced to withdraw from this year’s tournament.

Aryna Sabalenka (-480) vs. Elina Svitolina (+330)

This is a matchup involving one of the best players on the WTA Tour this season (Sabalenka) and a resurgent player (Svitolina) looking to reclaim some of the glory of years past. Sabalenka hasn’t dropped a set through four matches and is 29-5 this season with three titles.

Svitolina, meanwhile, was just 8-6 heading into Roland Garros. The former world No. 3 was playing as a wildcard in an ITF clay tournament as recent as March and is now playing for a spot in the semifinals of the French Open.

Svitolina and Sabalenka have split their only two meetings, with Svitolina winning on clay at Strasbourg in 2020.

Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova (+137) vs. Karolina Muchova (-176)

The other quarter-final taking place on Tuesday in the women’s draw is Pavlyuchenkova vs. Muchova. It’s the fourth career match between the two players, with Pavlyuchenkova holding a 2-1 advantage. Muchova won their recent meeting at Wimbledon in 2021, but Pavlyuchenkova was successful on clay at the Mutua Madrid Open earlier that year.

Although Pavlyuchenkova is the slightly better clay court player, Muchova has been on the court for two fewer hours and has a much better record this season – 23-7 compared to 12-9.

The Other Quarter-Finals

Djokovic takes on Karen Khachanov in the other quarter-final Tuesday. Casper Ruud was up two sets against Nicholas Jarry and, if successful, would play the winner of Holger Rune and Francisco Cerundolo in one of two quarterfinals on Wednesday. Tomas Etcheverry, Yoshihito Nishioka, Gregor Dmitrov, and Alexander Zverev are also still in contention.

Others still in contention in the women’s draw include Coco Gauff, Ons Jabeur, and Swiatek.

2023 French Open Quarter-Finals Are Set to Take Bets

Previous Betting News

Monday was another great day of tennis at Roland Garros as the 2023 French Open nears a conclusion. In the women’s draw, Ons Jabeur, Iga Swiatek, and Coco Gauff all punched their tickets to the quarter-finals, setting up some great matches. Beatriz Haddad Maia beat Sara Sorribes Tormo 7-6 (7-3), 3-6, 7-5 in 3 hours and 51 minutes, making it the longest match on the WTA Tour this season and the third-longest at Roland Garros.

The four men’s matches went as expected also, as Casper Ruud, Alexander Zverev, Tomas Etcheverry, and Holger Rune advanced to the quarters. Rune beat Francisco Cerundolo in an exciting, back-and-forth five-set affair.

There are two men’s and two women’s quarterfinals on Tuesday and two more each on Wednesday. Let’s take a look at Wednesday’s must-bet French Open matches.

French Open Quarter-Finals Are Set to Take Bets | MyBookie Roland Garros Preview

Iga Swiatek (-1298) vs. Coco Gauff (+670)

Make no mistake; this is Iga Swiatek’s tournament to win. She is the most dominant woman on the WTA Tour, and her preferred playing surface is clay. The 22-year-old is already a two-time winner at Roland Garros and has a remarkable 41-9 record in games in this year’s tournament.

With that said, Coco Gauff is a formidable opponent due for a breakthrough of her own. She hasn’t been as dominant, dropping the opening set in her first- and third-round match, but she gain confidence from the fact she was a finalist at last year’s French Open – although she did lose to Swiatek.

Swiatek is 6-0 against Gauff and hasn’t even dropped a set to the American. For a tournament that hasn’t had many upsets, however, this could be the moment. And, with Gauff’s odds as high as +670, it’s certainly worth a betting unit or two.

Tomas Etcheverry (+214) vs. Alexander Zverev (-319)

As much as it can be fun and exciting to bet on upsets, Alexander Zverev should have little trouble getting past Tomas Etcheverry on Wednesday. The German, who looked poised for a French Open final before withdrawing due to injury in last year’s semis, has returned to form at Roland Garros after a somewhat contentious season.

Zverev has dropped just one set through four matches and has a games record of 79-44. His last two wins over tough opponents in, Frances Tiafoe and Gregor Dmitrov, should give him confidence. Etcheverry is a talented clay court player, but Zverev has the pedigree of having performed well in the past in big moments.

MyBookie Betting Lines for the Match

Casper Ruud (-136) vs. Holger Rune (-101)

This is the marquee match of the quarters at Roland Garros, even from a non-betting perspective. There’s tension between Casper Ruud and Holger Rune, with Ruud criticizing Rune’s on and off-court behavior following their match at last year’s French Open.

Ruud is 4-1 against Rune in the five games they’ve played, but the gap has narrowed this season thanks to Rune’s breakthrough season. The talented 20-year-old Dane won his first title this season and beat Ruud earlier this year at the ATP Masters 1000 event in Rome. I’d lean Rune in this match, setting up a potential semifinal clash with Zverev.

2022 French Open Betting Update: Ruud Moves to Quarterfinals, Keys Out in 4th Round

Previous Betting News

The 2022 French Open is nearing the end, and we slowly approach day 10 of the action on the French clay; there are only a handful of tennis players left in the race for the coveted title. And while the list includes many surprise names, it’s also missing some pre-tournament favorites, some of whom have crashed out of the French Open on Monday.

In this article, we take a look at some of the most important results of the fourth round and provide you with a short French Open Betting update on what’s happening on the French clay tennis courts.

2022 French Open Betting Recap After Most Round 4 Matches Have Concluded

Keys Slips Against Kudermetova

On Monday, the 22nd seed Madison Keys suffered a shock defeat against Veronika Kudermetova when she had to admit defeat to the Russian player with 6-1, 3-6, 1-6. It was an unexpected result, to say the least, especially after the first set, which Keys won convincingly.

But she couldn’t keep up the pressure as she had to admit defeat in the second set with 3-6 and was completely outmatched in the third set, in which Keys lost 1-6.

Key’s bid to become the third American tennis player after Coco Gauff and Sloane Stephens to reach the final eight came to a stop at the hands of the 25-year-old Russian tennis star, who showcased the incredible talent and ability to fight back from a large deficit.

Kudamentova will now meet fellow Russian Daria Kasatkina as she looks to take one step closer to the coveted trophy.

Ruud Dominates Hurkacz

French Open eighth seed, Casper Ruud, made it to the final eight on Monday with a dominant performance against Hubert Hurkacz, who he defeated in four sets. Although Hurkacz showed some resistance and put up a strong fight, he was eventually outmatched by the Norwegian tennis player.

Right from the start of the match, it was evident that Rudd was in complete control as he took the lead 6-2, needing less than 40 minutes to get ahead. He kept the wind in his sails and won the second set with 6-3, again disposing of Hurkacz fairly quickly, as he needed less than 90 minutes for the first two sets.

Ruud slowed down a bit in the third set, which belonged to Hurkacz, who wasn’t ready to give up yet as he bounced back with 6-3. But despite proving that he could compete with Ruud, Hurkacz eventually came out short and had to admit defeat to the Norwegian, who sealed the deal with 6-3.

Kasatkina Is Though To Quarter-Finals

Daria Kasatkina has reached the 2022 French Open quarter-finals with a strong performance against Camila Giorgi of Italy, who had to admit defeat to the 20th-seeded Kasatkina with 6-2, 6-2.

Kasatkina matched her best performance in a major, having already reached the final eight at the French Open way back in 2018. However, she has since not made it further than Round 3, with two R2 exits in 2019 and 2020.

Meanwhile, for Camila Giorgi, this defeats marks another year that she did not make it further than the third round. She had already made this tournament stage in 2018 but has since crashed out in R1, R2, and now again in R3.

With her victory, Kasatkina has now booked a meeting with the 29th seeded Veronika Kudermetova, who she will meet in the quarter-finals on Tuesday.

2019 French Open Quarterfinals Odds & Betting Preview – June 4th

Number one in the world Novak Djokovic heads to the clay courts at the 2019 French Open Quarterfinals on Wednesday, June 5. Djokovic battles top player Alexander Zverev. Will Zverev pull off the upset? Check out our French Open Quarterfinals odds, analysis, and a free pick for Zverev-Djokovic along with 3 other terrific tennis matches on Wednesday!

2019 French Open Quarterfinals Odds & Betting Preview

Wednesday, June 5

Ashleigh Barty vs Madison Keys

2019 French Open Odds: Barty -185 / Keys +137

Australian Ashleigh Barty is a huge favorite to beat Madison Keys on June 5. Barty had breezed through the first three rounds before facing Sofia Kenin in the fourth. Kenin won the second set 3-6. That doesn’t mean Barty has no shot to beat Keys.

Keys struggled with Anna Blinkova in the third round before easily beating Katerina Siniakova in the fourth round. In the head to head, each has won a match. The difference is that Madison won the match on clay. Keys is the play.

Tennis Betting Pick: Madison Keys

Amanda Anisimova vs Simona Halep

2019 French Open Odds: Anisimova +338 / Halep -526

Now that Naomi Osaka and Serena Williams have been bounced from the French Open, Simona Halep becomes the favorite to win at Roland-Garros. This is the first time Halep and Anisimova will have faced each other.

A 17-year-old American, Amanda Anisimova has played great during the 2019 French Open. She hasn’t lost a single set in four rounds. Halep did lose the second set versus Magda Linette in Round 2. Halep should win, but Anisimova might be one of those tennis prodigies. She doesn’t know she’s not supposed to beat players like Simona Halep. The young underdog is worth backing at the odds.

Tennis Betting Pick: Amanda Anisimova

Alexander Zverev vs Novak Djokovic

2019 French Open Odds: Zverev +434 / Djokovic -769

Oddsmakers have made Novak Djokovic an underlay choice to beat Alexander Zverev on Wednesday. Djokovic is the best player in the world. Plus, he’s easily handled his competition at the French Open.

The odds are ridiculous, though. Alexander Zverev, although not as dominant as Novak, has played exceptionally well at Roland-Garros. Not only that, but he’s beaten a couple of ranked opponents in Dusan Lajovic and Fabio Fognini. Finally, Zverev and Djokovic are 2-2 in their 4 head to head matches. Zverev won the lone match on clay. He gets the nod to upset Novak.

Tennis Betting Pick: Alexander Zverev

Karen Khachanov vs Dominic Thiem

2019 French Open Odds: Khachanov +263 / Thiem -384

Thiem, the world’s fourth ranked player, had a tough go of it in the first three rounds. He stepped it up in Round 4, though. Versus Gael Monfils, Thiem dominated. He beat Monfils 6-4, 6-4, 6-2.

Karen Khachanov has a chance to beat Thiem, though. In the only head to head match, Khachanov came out on top. Not only that, but he upset Juan Martin del Potro 7-5, 6-3, 3-6, 6-3 in the fourth round. Khachanov can score at a nice price.

Tennis Betting Pick: Karen Khachanov
