The final few weeks of the NFL regular season are upon us, which means that the battle for playoff spots is intensifying. Muddying the waters a little is the current state of affairs with COVID, as we are seeing a large number of players being moved into health and safety protocols. We are also seeing games rescheduled, with a couple of Week 15 games moved to Tuesday night. All of this is going to have a negative impact on some teams, which may end up being the difference between getting into the postseason and finishing below the playoff line. All we can do right now is look ahead to Week 16, so let’s get our O/U picks together and hope that we cash some winning tickets against the NFL Betting Odds.
2021 Season Week 16 Over/Under Picks | NFL Betting
Cleveland Browns at Green Bay Packers (OVER 44)
We have a pair of teams here who are in very different battles at this late stage of the season. The Browns, who are at 7-7, are fighting for their playoff life, but they have been struggling to put together back-to-back wins all season long. On the flipside, the Packers are riding a hot streak right now that has them on the brink of landing the #1 seed in the NFC and getting that coveted bye week in the playoffs. Part of the issue with Cleveland right now is that their offense is inconsistent and unpredictable, to the point where some are questioning whether Baker Mayfield is the man to lead them to the promised land. 4 of their last 5 versus NFC teams have gone under. The Packers have no such offensive issues, with 4 of their last 5 games going OVER. I think this one goes the same way.
Buffalo Bills at New England Patriots (OVER 43 ½)
Thig s could get very interesting in the AFC East this weekend, with the Bills and the Patriots set to square off in a divisional matchup that will go a long way towards deciding who wins the East. Buffalo has been a bit of a disappointment this season, but they helped their chances with a win over Carolina in Week 15. That victory still leaves them behind the Patriots, who lost to Indianapolis this past weekend to make the division race all the more exciting. The OVER has hit for the Bills in 4 of their last 6 games, as well as 11 of their last 16 games on the road. The Patriots have been trending under of late, but that all changes when they play at home, with 4 of their last 5 in Foxboro going OVER.
Detroit Lions at Atlanta Falcons (OVER 42 ½)
This is one of those games that you need to keep an eye on, as Lions QB Jared Goff is currently in health and safety protocols after testing positive for COVID. Given that he is vaccinated, though, he still may be able to return for this one, depending on when he next tests negative. If he is unable to play, this is one that I might well skip entirely, so just be aware. The Lions are sure to be flying high after stunning the Arizona Cardinals last weekend, and that might just carry over against a Falcons team that is struggling to find wins right now. This is a matchup that tends to deliver points, with 7 of the last 9 meetings in Atlanta going OVER the point total.
