We are at the midway point of the 2023 Formula-E season, and it looks as though we are in for a real battle to win the championship. Right now, it seems as though we may be heading for a 2-horse race, as the drivers in first and second are opening up on the chasing pack. That said, their lead is not quite yet so large that the chasing pack can’t get back into the hunt. The first opportunity to do that comes this weekend in Monaco, which will represent the 10th race in an 18-race season. Monaco is always a fun location for racing, so we can expect an exciting E-prix this weekend. Let’s take a look the Formula E betting analysis at the current top 4 in the driver standings to try and get an idea of who might win.
Formula E Betting Preview for the 2023 Monaco E-Prix Race
Pascal Wehrlein
You have to say that it is more than a little surprising to see Wherlein sitting atop the driver standings at the midway point of the season. Prior to this year, he had never finished better than 10th overall in his 4 seasons with Formula-E, but something seems to have clicked into place this year. He won 2 of the opening 3 races of the season and finished 2nd in the other, and while he has not won since, he has done enough to stay on top, although his lead is down to just 4 points. In his last 2 runs in Monaco, he was forced to retire both times.

Nick Cassidy
This is just the 3rd full season in Formula-E for Cassidy, but it already looks as though he is heading for a breakout season. With a win in Berlin in the previous race, Cassidy is now up to 2nd overall and just 4 points out of the top spot. That win was certainly coming, as he went on a run of 3 straight podium finishes earlier in the season. A good showing this weekend could well have Cassidy on top when all is said and done. He finished 7th and 8th, respectively in his previous 2 runs in Monaco, but I think a top 5 is likely here.

Jean-Eric Vergne
The 2-time former champion has some work to do if he wants to nab his 3rd Formula-E World Championship. It’s certainly not yet time to push the panic button, as Vergne is still within 19 points of the overall lead, but he could use another win to get things moving in the right direction. He already has a win, and a pair of podium finishes this season, so wins are definitely not out of the question. Vergne has won in Monaco in the past, so this might be his chance to close the gap.

Jake Dennis
Dennis landed in Formula-E with a bang, finishing 3rd overall in his first full season. He took a bit of a backward step last year, finishing 6th overall, but he is very much in the championship conversation this season. He got off to a flying start by winning the first race of the season, and while he hasn’t won since then, he does have a trio of 2nd place finishes to his name. Monaco has not been particularly kind to him, buy might we see that change this weekend?
