IndyCar: Hy-Vee Milwaukee Mile 250 Odds, Top 3 to Win, Final Pick

This may well prove to be the weekend where we see a champion crowned in IndyCar.

There are just 3 races remaining in the 2024 season, but we are going to see 2 of them over the weekend, as we are getting a doubleheader in Milwaukee.

My Hy-Vee Milwaukee Mile 250 Analysis

For the drivers chasing the leader, this could well be their last shot at taking the championship battle to the final race of the season.

What makes this weekend so interesting, besides the doubleheader and the potential crowning of a champion, is that it comes on a track that a lot of these guys may not have raced on.

That also makes it tougher for bettors, as there is no past history to go on, but let’s take a look at the drivers who should be on the hunt.

Àlex Palou

Palou is on the brink of winning his 3rd world championship in the last 4 seasons, and this could well be the weekend where he wraps things up.

Àlex has won 3 races this season, 2 fewer than his total from last year, but he has a nice lead at the top of the driver standings that might now be impossible to pull back.

It has been a while since his last win, as he has now gone 6 straight races without a checkered flag, although he does have a trio of 2nd place finishes during that run.

While wins have been hard to come by, I would still be comfortable taking him for a top 3 finish.

Will Power

It was a good weekend for Power in Portland, as he won last weekend to keep his championship challenge very much alive and well.

At this stage of the proceedings, Power is probably the only driver with a shot at stealing the crown away from Palou, but he needs a massive weekend and needs to do well in both races.

One thing to keep in mind here is that Power does have some experience on this track, winning on the Milwaukee Mile back in the 2014 season.

He might be a good win bet for at least one of these races.

Colton Herta

While not really in the hunt for a championship, Herta will still be looking to finish the season strong and maintain his spot in the top 3.

After a bit of an up and down season, Herta has come to life in the past month or so, landing in the top 5 in each of the last 4 races, which includes his first win of the year during that stretch.

It has certainly been a return to form for Herta, but I think a top 3 finish is the best he can hope for this weekend.

Scott McLaughlin

Over the last couple of seasons, McLaughlin has finished in the top 4 in the driver standings, and it looks likely that he will keep that streak alive this year.

He is currently sitting in 4th right now, improving on his win total from last season by winning twice in the 2024 season.

Scott has had his fair share of podium finishes this season, so taking him to land in the top 3 this weekend might not be a bad way to go.
