Betting Motorsports Events this Weekend? Let’s look at MyBookie’s recommendations

Betting Motorsports Events this weekend? Is almost upon us once again, which means that it’s time to start thinking about the big races that will be coming our way over the next few days.

If you haven’t really been following motor sports, you might not be aware of just how many races there are in any given week. We are focusing on the 5 major motor sports organizations in this piece, but there is a lot more going on besides what we are talking about here.

Betting Motorsports Events for the Week: NASCAR and Formula 1

That said, if you are new to motor sports, you are going to want to start with the biggest organizations, simply because there is so much information available for each race, helping you make better wagering decisions.

Let’s look at what’s coming this week, how you can wager on the races, and who we think will win.

The Current State of Affairs in The Major Racing Organizations

One thing you need to be aware of is that all 5 major racing organizations have very different schedules. Some race every week, while others have a few weeks between each race. Let’s take a quick look at the top 5 organizations in the sport to see where they are at:

Formula 1

We are 2 races into the new season, and we have had 2 different winners to this point, neither of which have been Max Verstappen. After years of dominance from the Dutchman, are we now going to see a tighter battle for the World Championship? The picture may become a little clearer after the Japan Grand Prix this weekend.

IndyCar

We are also 2 races into the IndyCar season, but we have a definite favorite emerging right off the bat. Àlex Palou, who has been the man to beat over the past few years, has won both of the opening races and will be looking to make it 3 in a row when IndyCar returns next weekend.

MotoGP

Speaking of World Championships, it looks as though we are going to have a great battle on our hands in MotoGP. We are 3 races into the new season, and we have already seen a lead change at the top of the standings. The Marquez brothers and Francesco Bagnaia are all tight at the top, and they will meet up again next weekend in Qatar.

WRC

Elfyn Evans has been the man to beat this season, winning 2 of the 3 races to this point. He still has a long way to go before he can claim his first world title. We now have a bit of a break before we get to the next rally, which will take place in the Canary Islands on the weekend of April 24-27.

NASCAR

While the other organizations tend to space out their races over the course of a season, NASCAR delivers races thick and fast. It certainly helps that there are 3 different Series taking place within the sport, so we very often see a full weekend with 3 races on tap.

Now that we have a handle on the current state of motor sports across the world, let’s talk about how to wager on the upcoming races.

Getting Started with Betting Motorsports Events

Now that you know the number of betting options available to you in motor sports, you might well be wondering where to start. The good news is that you have several different betting options available to you, so let’s take a quick look at what you can wager on in motor sports:

The Betting Options for Individual Races

The most obvious wager is to pick the winner of a given race, but that is incredibly tough to do, as there are so many factors that determine the winner of any event. There is a safer way to play, albeit at reduced odds, which is to wager on a driver to finish in the top 5 or top 10. Some races are split into legs, each of which you can wager on individually, plus there may be several head-to-head wagering opportunities, where you decide which driver will perform better than the other.

Wagering on the Driver and Constructor Championship

For a driver to win a world championship, they need to be at the top of their game. That said, a driver cannot win unless he has a fast car to get behind the wheel of, so it really does take an entire team to get a driver on the podium. One fun bet that you can do, especially in Formula 1, is to put together a parlay ticket where you pick the driver to win the World Championship, as well as the constructor that wins the most points over the course of the year. Of course, you can also wager on those individually.

If you are new to wagering on motor sports, I would suggest checking out the official websites of each organization, as you can get a ton of details there that will help you make more informed wagers on every race.

Betting Motorsports Events: Picks for the Weekend Races

It’s a little quieter this weekend, with just 2 of the 5 organizations in action. It’s also a bit of a slower week in NASCAR, as we have just 2 races instead of 3. Even with that, we still have plenty of opportunities to make some money, so let’s take a closer look at the upcoming races this weekend:

NASCAR Xfinity Series Sports Clips Haircuts VFW to Help a Hero 200

This race is set to go on Saturday afternoon at 5 PM EST at the Darlington Raceway in South Carolina. Let’s take a look at the current favorites on the bookies board:

Christopher Bell (+142)

It has been a great start to life in the Cup Series this season for Bell, who has already picked up 3 wins. He is dropping into the Xfinity Series this weekend and is the obvious favorite to pick up the win. Tough to see him not being on the podium here.

Ross Chastain (+390)

We have another Cup Series driver dropping in here, and while that might seem like an automatic podium finish, Chastain only managed an 8th place run in an earlier Xfinity series appearance this season. Still, a top 5 bet might not be a bad idea.

Justin Allgaier (+760)

While he is coming off his first championship win, Allgaier is certainly not resting on his laurels, as he is sitting atop the driver standings once again. I think he is a solid bet to land in the top 5 this weekend.

NASCAR Cup Series Goodyear 400

Race #8 of the season is coming our way on Sunday afternoon in Darlington. Things are tight at the top of the driver standings, so will we see a new leader after this race?

Kyle Larson (+440)

While he has just 1 win to his name this season, Larson is still out to a solid start and has been in the top 10 in each of his last 4 races. He has not been great on this track, but I would still play him in the top 10.

Denny Hamlin (+610)

Hamlin is coming off his first win of the season and is now heading to a track where he finished in the top 10 twice last season. A top 5 finish would be a safer bet, but I might be inclined to wager on Hamlin to win.

Tyler Reddick (+680)

Reddick is still looking for his first win of the season, and while he has been close a couple of times, his form does not lead me to believe that he will be a major factor this weekend.

Formula 1 Japan Grand Prix

The third race of the Formula 1 season is coming our way this Sunday. We have had a different winner in each race to this point, so is that a trend that we are going to see continue?

Lando Norris (+141)

There was the belief that Norris might be ready to challenge for the World Championship this season, with a win in Race 1 seemingly backing up that opinion. He has been on the podium in both races and should be there again.

Oscar Piastri (+183)

Piastri picked up his first win of the season in the second race of the year and now heads to Japan, where he just cracked the top 10 last season. I think he will have a better finish this time around.

Max Verstappen (+600)

We are only 2 races into the season, but it already looks as though Verstappen is going to have a fight on his hands to keep his championship winning streak alive. He will be there or thereabouts this weekend and might even be worth playing to win at these odds.
