It is a huge week to Bet on Motor Sports, mostly because we will be seeing the return of Formula 1 to the calendar. The opening race of the season is coming this weekend, but we will get into more of that a little later in this piece.
It is going to be a busy weekend across the globe for those of you who love the speed and excitement of racing, and we are going to do our best to cover all the bases. For those of you looking to wager on motor sports events this weekend, we have a quick guide to get you started, so let’s jump in.

The Current State of Affairs in The Major Racing Organizations
There are all kinds of different motor sports, with the 4- and 2-wheel variety at the forefront, but there are 5 organizations that get most of the headlines.
Those are the ones that we are going to focus on here, so let’s look at where they are in their seasons:
Formula 1
As we mentioned at the top of this piece, we will see the return of Formula 1 this weekend. Yes, we have seen some test runs in Bahrain, but the drivers will be in Australia this weekend for the first race of the season where points are up for grabs.
Will Max Verstappen continue his recent dominance, or are we going to see a new champion emerge?
IndyCar
We have already seen the opening race of the season take place in IndyCar, but there is a bit of a gap between that one and the next.
The next race on the schedule is still a week away, with the Thermal Challenge being the next one up on the calendar. We will, of course, be covering that one when we do this piece next week to bet on Motor Sports.
MotoGP
The first race of the season is in the books in MotoGP, with former champion Marc Marquez taking the checkered flag in the opener. Can he build on that and make a push for the World Championship this season.
We are going to need to wait and see how it all plays out, but he will get another chance to impress in the Argentinian Grand Prix this weekend.
WRC
The WRC season is a little more spread out than the others, so it is not surprising to see gaps between the races.
There have been a pair of races completed already this season, with a pair of different winners at those events. It will be interesting to see if that trend continues in Kenya next weekend.
NASCAR
Even when the motor sports schedule is quiet, you can always count on NASCAR to have something going on. This weekend is certainly no different, as we have no less than 3 different races coming our way this weekend.
The battle for the top spot in all 3 series is beginning to heat up, so it will be interesting to see how things change after all the action in Las Vegas.
Now that we have a handle on the current state of motor sports across the world, let’s talk about how to wager on the upcoming races.

Getting Started with Wagering on Motor Sports
While we are still very early in the season, making things a little tougher to handicap, there are ways to make wagers that are a little more likely to hit. Let’s quickly cover that now:
The Betting Options for Individual Races
There are multiple different ways to wager on races, starting with trying to predict who will win.
This is a tough bet, as every driver at this level is very good and can win on any given day. A safer way to play is to pick drivers to finish in the top 5 or top 10.
Sure, the odds are not as great, but your chances of cashing a winning ticker are certainly better.
There are multiple places where you can get info on the upcoming races and find out how well drivers perform on a specific track, which is always important to know.
Bet on Motor Sports: Wagering on the Driver and Constructor Championship
Most people who wager on motor sports are interested on the drivers and the race result, but there are other things to consider, too.
Drivers get behind the wheel of specific models of vehicles, while also being part of a team. Much of the focus here is on Formula 1, where constructors also battle it out for a world championship.
Teams are always tweaking their cars, so it is often the fastest car that wins, as opposed to the best driver.
If you are new to wagering on motor sports, I would suggest checking out the official websites of each organization, as you can get a ton of details there that will help you make more informed wagers on every race.

Picks for the Motor Sports Weekend Races
We have a very busy weekend coming our way, so we are going to do our best to quickly look at all the races, while checking out the available odds and making some predictions, so let’s get to it.
NASCAR Truck Series Ecosave 200
The trucks return this weekend for their third race of the season. As always, be on the lookout for Cup Series drivers dropping in, as this can have a big impact on the odds.
Corey Heim (+175)
Heim already has a win this season and looks like a good bet here, too, as he always seems to be in the mix in Vegas. A definite top 5 finisher for me.
Chandler Smith (+550)
Smith is my pick to win this weekend. He won his last outing on this track and has been 5th and 6th, respectively, in the two races this season.
Ty Majeski (+900)
In his last 4 races on the Vegas track, Majeski has been in the top 10 twice and just outside in the other 2. A top 10 finish is my pick here.
^NASCAR Xfinity Series The LiUNA!
The Xfinity Series will have its 5th race of the season in Las Vegas on Saturday afternoon. Here are some drivers to consider:
Aric Almirola (+300)
Almirola is only racing on a part-time basis this season, but he has a win and a 3rd place finish in 2 races this season. I think he will definitely be in the top 5 this weekend.
Justin Allgaier (+300)
The defending champion is out to a slow start this season, but he cannot be counted out. That said, he has been just okay in Vegas, so let’s take him for a top 10 finish.
Sheldon Creed (+800)
Creed is out to a slow start this season, finishing in the top 10 just once in 4 attempts. I think he could sneak back into the top 10 this weekend.
^Bet on Motor Sports: NASCAR Cup Series Pennzoil 400
The new season is moving quickly, and we have a clear leader at the top of the driver standings. Will that continue this Sunday?
Kyle Larson (+350)
You can never count out a former champion in any race. He has been up and down in the early going, but he loves this track, which is why I think he wins this Sunday.
Christopher Bell (+370)
There is no driver hotter than Bell at the moment, as he has won 3 straight races ahead of this one. He should be in the mix again, so I am taking him for the top 5.
Tyler Reddick (+570)
Reddick has been a little unpredictable through the opening 4 races of the season, so while he is among the favorites, I think a top 10 finish is the safest wager.
^MotoGP Gran Premio YPF Energia de Argentina
We make the move from 4 wheels to 2 for the MotoGP Argentina Grand Prix. It was an exciting start to the season with the first race, so let’s look at the riders who could be in the hunt this weekend:
Marc Marquez (-285)
One of the most iconic names in this sport, Marquez looks to be back after a couple of rough seasons lost to injury, He won the season opener and will be in the mix again this weekend.
Francesco Bagnaia (+470)
Bagnaia has been the man to beat in recent years, and he always seems to be in the hunt in every race. He should land in the top 3 in this one.
Alex Marquez (+510)
While Alex has been overshadowed by his brother, he is out to good start this season with a 2nd place finish in the opener. Let’s take him to finish in the top 5.
^Formula 1 Australian Grand Prix
The drivers are heading down under for the opening race of the 2025 F1 season. Picking the winner in the opener is always a tough ask, but let’s look at the odds:
Lando Norris (+162)
Norris took a massive step forward last season, finishing 2nd overall in the race for the World Championship. I think there is a good chance he gets this season off to a winning start.
Max Verstappen (+360)
With 4 straight World Championships under his belt, you can never overlook Verstappen, even though he has admitted that his car is not fast enough. A top 3 finish for the champ.
Charles Leclerc (+440)
This is a race where Leclerc tends to excel, so he might be worth taking the risk on to win at very decent odds. I think he will definitely be in the top 3.
