Another weekend is almost upon us, and for those of you who feel the need for speed, the good news is that there is a lot going on in the world of Motor Sports Betting this weekend.
It is still very early in the season across the board, which can make things a little difficult to handicap, but that is why we are here to help. We are going to quickly break down all the major events coming this weekend, while letting you in on the motor sport betting options available to you. We will then close things out by making some predictions on all the big races coming our way.
Motor Sports Betting Odds, the Current State of Affairs in The Major Racing Organizations
As we said at the top of this piece, we are still very early in the season in all the major racing organizations.
With that in mind, we always like to start by giving a bit of a State of the Union update on all 5 of the big organizations, so here goes:
Formula 1
The first race of the season was held last weekend in Australia, and we got off to a winning start.
We correctly predicted the winner, while also getting 1 of the other 2 podium selections correct.
We will get another shot this weekend, as we have the Chinese Grand Prix coming on Sunday.
^IndyCar
It has been something of a frustrating start to the season for fans of IndyCar, as we had the opening race of the season followed by a gap of a few weeks.
The wait for Race #2 is officially over, though, as we will have a race this weekend.
The Thermal race was an exhibition of sorts last season, but this year, drivers can win championship points.
^MotoGP
We are 2 races into the new season, and it is Marc Marquez who is leading the way after winning both races.
We have a little wait until we get to the next race in Qatar, but the good news is that the time off may allow defending champion Jorge Martin enough time to get ready for his return after missing the first 2 races.
^WRC
After a month-long absence, the WRC makes a return this weekend with the Kenya Rally.
One of the great things about this sport is that every race presents an entirely new challenge, with drivers forced to tackle different courses and surfaces. It’s always a fun watch.
^NASCAR
While the other organizations tend to have breaks between races, we can always rely on NASCAR to deliver a jam-packed weekend with as many as 3 races on tap.
All 3 series are in action this weekend as the battle for playoff spots continues.
Now that we have a handle on the current state of motor sports across the world, let’s talk about how to wager on the upcoming races.

Getting Started with Wagering on Motor Sports
With each passing race, handicapping becomes a little easier, as you get to see which drivers and teams are hot and which are not. Here are the betting options you have available to you now:
The Betting Options for Individual Races
Even though wagering on sports is tough, there are some games that are easier to predict than others. It’s not quite as cut and dry in racing, though, as there are so many things that can happen over the course of a race that goes hundreds of miles.
You can take a shot and try and pick a driver to win at great odds, but many choose to play it safe by picking drivers to finish in the top 5 or 10, or head-to-head against other drivers.
Wagering on the Driver and Constructor Championship
One wager that is worth taking a chance on is future wagers, such as which driver or team win a championship.
F1 is perfect for this, as we usually have a clear indicator of which team has the best vehicles. You might even consider wagering a parlay on the driver and the constructor if you believe one team has a serious edge in speed.
If you are new to wagering on motor sports, I would suggest checking out the official websites of each organization, as you can get a ton of details there that will help you make more informed wagers on every race.
^Picks for the Motor Sports Weekend Races
We have a full slate of racing action this weekend, so let’s quickly break down all the races and try to pick some winners:
NASCAR Truck Series Baptist Health 200
The odds always look a little different when Cup Series drivers drop in, so keep that in mind this weekend.
Kyle Larson (-124)
The clear favorite and for good reason, as he is a former Cup Series champions that should be too good to lose here.
Corey Heim (+510)
Heim has made a great start to the season with 2 wins from 3 races. I like him in the top 3 here.
Ross Chastain (+1050)
He had 5 races at this level last season and won just once, but a top 10 wager seems a good idea.
^NASCAR Xfinity Series Hard Rock Bet 300
Kyle Larson (-143)
Larson is going to be busy this weekend, as he is racing in all 3 NASCAR events. He could have a clean sweep of all 3.
Sheldon Creed (+720)
Creed cracked the top 10 for the second time this season in last week’s race, so I think top 10 is the safest bet.
Justin Allgaier (+920)
Fresh off a win last weekend, the defending champions could be in the hint again on Saturday, so I like him in the top 5.
^NASCAR Cup Series Straight Talk Wireless 400
Kyle Larson (+360)
With 2 races in consecutive days ahead of this one, will Larson have anything left in the tank? Still more than good enough to be in the top 5.
Tyler Reddick (+400)
Reddick has been on the podium twice already this season and always seems to do well at Homestead. I’m taking him to win on Sunday.
Ryan Blaney (+500)
Blaney has not been great this season, but he has frequently been on the podium at Homestead. Top 5 might be the way to go.
^IndyCar The Thermal
Just the second race of the IndyCar season, but rather than being a fun race this season, there are championship points up for grabs in The Thermal.
Àlex Palou (+199)
Winner of 3 of the last 4 championships, Palou also got this season off to a winning start. Tough to bet against him, but top 3 if you want to play it safe.
Scott McLaughlin (+370)
He finished outside the top 3 in the opening race, but was 4th overall. He was 2nd in this race last season, so a definite top 5 pick.
Josef Newgarden (+550)
Newgarden is looking to bounce back from a disappointing 2024 season, and I think he can get in the top 5 here.
^Formula 1 Chinese Grand Prix
The second race of the season is upon us, but who will reign supreme in China?
Lando Norris (+100)
The prohibitive pick to win it all this year, Norris took the checkered flag in race 1 this season. I like him to be on the podium this weekend.
Max Verstappen (+330)
It’s tough to bet against Verstappen at this point, but he may not have the fastest car this year. Still, a top 3 finish looks likely.
Oscar Piastri (+330)
I’m not entirely sold on Piastri just yet, but I might be willing to take a chance on him finishing in the top 5.
WRC Kenya Rally
Again, we are still in the very early stages of the WRC season, but the Kenya Rally has what looks to be a rather obvious choice to win, so let’s look at the drivers that I believe will land on the podium:
Kalle Rovanperä
This is a driver that is always a good pick to be in among the leaders in every race, but he has been especially effective in Kenya, winning there in 2 of the last 3 runs.
Elfyn Evans
There have been 2 races this season and Evans has been on the podium in both, finishing 1st and 2nd, respectively. Look for him to be on the podium again this weekend, and potentially as the winner.
Thierry Neuville
Neuville is coming off a championship winning season in 2024, but he is out to a slow start this season. I think he can get back in the mic with a podium finish this weekend.
