NFL Cleveland Browns Offense In-Depth Betting Analysis

NFL Cleveland Browns Offense In-Depth Betting Analysis

The Cleveland Browns had a disappointing 2022. One of the big issues had to do with Deshaun Watson’s pre-NFL Week 11 suspension.

Even when Deshaun returned, he didn’t seem comfortable. In 2023, Deshaun will start as Cleveland’s quarterback in week 1. That should help the Browns improve on offense.

Check out an in-depth NFL betting analysis for the Cleveland Browns’ offense.

Browns’ Offensive Changes During the Offseason

The Browns parted ways with former KC Chief running back Kareem Hunt. Losing Hunt could have of an impact. Other than Hunt heading out of town, no real changes happened to the offense other than the fact that this season, Deshaun Watson will start from the first day of training camp and as long as he remains healthy.

Cleveland Browns Offensive Line Analysis

For years, the Cleveland Browns have boasted a top offensive line. 2023 will be no different. In fact, Cleveland has the opportunity to leapfrog the Philadelphia Eagles and become the best offensive line in the league.

The Browns gave left tackle Jedrick Willis Jr. an extension, center Ethan Pocic, left guard Joel Bitonio, and right guard Wyatt Teller are a fearsome interior, and right tackle Jack Conklin is one of the best in the NFL.

Also, offensive line coach Bill Callahan is a master.

Cleveland Browns Wide Receivers Room Analysis

Amari Cooper remains an elite WR1. Even though Amari had to play with backup quarterbacks and a less than stellar Watson last season, he still managed 78 catches for over 1,000 yards and scored 9 TDs.

Elijah-Moore and Donovan Peoples-Jones are worthy starters. Tight end David Njoku is a good player. If Njoku can stay healthy, he should approach the 70 catches range.

Cleveland Browns Running Backs Room Analysis

Nick Chubb may be the best running back in the league. It doesn’t hurt that Chubb plays behind one of the NFL’s top offensive lines.

This season, 2022 fifth-round draft pick Jerome Ford will back up Chubb because Hunt is no longer with the team. Ford has 8 carries for 15 yards and a 1.5 per carry average in his NFL career.

If Chubb goes down to injury, the vaunted Browns rushing attack could get dicey.

Cleveland Points Scored & Yards Per Game Range Prediction

Last season, Cleveland averaged 21.2 points per game. Unless Watson doesn’t have it anymore, the Browns should eclipse that average by at least 3 points. Let’s put Cleveland’s points per game average this season at 24 – 27.

The Browns averaged 349.1 yards per game last season. A full season of Deshaun should push that to at least 370 yards per. 370 yards each game is on the low-end. So lets say the Browns average 370 to 385 yards per game.

Browns Yard Per Game Range: 370 – 385
Browns Points Scored Range: 24 – 27

Quarterback Deshaun Watson to Win MVP: +3000

Betting Analysis: The odds on Watson to win MVP make him an underlay. It’s not that Deshaun Watson can’t have a season worthy of the NFL MVP.

It’s that Watson had to sit out an entire season and games last season due to a suspension. MVP voters won’t ever give the award to Deshaun unless they absolutely have to, meaning unless he hits it out of the park, and a case can’t be made for anyone else, Watson won’t win NFL MVP.

DE Myles Garrett to Win NFL Defensive Player of the Year: +700

Betting Analysis: Garrett is a difference maker. Myles had 16 sacks, 2 forced fumbles, and 37 solo tackles last season. He can change the trajectory of a game.

Unfortunately, the Cleveland defense allowed 135 rushing yards per, ranking twenty-fifth, and allowed an average of 22.4 points per game, ranking twentieth.

Also, Cleveland must win to hand the NFL Defensive Player of the Year Award to Myles Garrett. It remains to be seen if the Browns can win.

If Cleveland wins their division and makes the playoffs, Garrett probably wins the award. Right now, he’s tough to back because we don’t know how good Cleveland will be this season.
