NFL In-Depth Betting Analysis of the Tennessee Titans' Offense

NFL In-Depth Betting Analysis of the Tennessee Titans’ Offense

Heading into NFL training camps, few teams have as many questions to answer as the Tennessee Titans. The Titans, the top seed in the 2021 AFC Playoffs, had a terrible 2022. The reason can be traced to Ryan Tannehill’s injury. But although Tannehill is back, Tennessee faces a couple of strong competitors in their division.

Will the Titans’ offense return to its past glory when Tannehill was slinging passes all over the field and Derrick Henry was dragging multiple wannabe tacklers past the goal line?

Check out an in-depth NFL betting odds and analysis for the Tennessee Titans’ offense from the MyBookie experts.

Titans’ Offensive Changes During the Offseason

The Tennessee Titans‘ offense didn’t have many changes during the offseason. That’s not a good thing. Even before Tannehill suffered the season-ending injury, the Titans’ offense had sputtered.

Tennessee had one of the league’s top offenses before trading wide reciever AJ Brown to the Philadelphia Eagles before last April’s NFL Draft. Brown is one of the best wide receivers in the NFL.

Tennessee felt Brown’s absence all season. The Titans did nothing to address their wide receiver room. The biggest change could be drafting Will Levis, who is likely to replace Malik Willis as the heir apparent to Tannehill.

Tennessee Titans Offensive Line Analysis

First round draft pick Pete Skoronski should help, but other than Skoronski, the Titans’ O-line lacks talent. The other starters: LT Andre Dillard, C Aaron Brewer, RG Daniel Brunskill, and LT Nicolas Petite-Frere, would be second-string players on other teams.

Skoronski is a rookie and the Titans placed him at LG specifically to prevent the up the middle rush. So the best we can say about Tennessee’s offensive line is that it’s mediocre. Some analysts, like ESPN’s Mike Clay, believe the Titans’ O-line is the worst in the league this season.

Tennessee Titans Wide Receivers Room Analysis

The WR room is okay, but not great. AJ Brown was a massive loss. Trey Burks has the ability to be a good wide receiver, but he’s no AJ Brown.

Kyle Phillips is decent. He’s probably not starter material, though. So we don’t have many nice things to say about the Tennessee Titans’ wide receivers room.

Tennessee Titans Running Backs Room Analysis

Derrick Henry was the most feared RB in the NFL. But no running back, not even one named Walter Payton or Jim Brown, could have success behind a bad offensive line.

Henry averaged 4.4 yards per carry last season. That average could dive to below 4.0 this season. If the offensive line surprises, Henry will have a decent season. If not, 2023 will not be fun for Derrick.

There isn’t a lot of talent behind Henry. So we must wait and see how it plays out.

Tennessee Points Scored & Yards Per Game Range Prediction

Last season, the Titans ranked thirtieth in yards per game at 296.8. The terrible stat has a lot to do with Tannehill’s injury. So Tennessee, by default, will average more yards per game, right?

Maybe not. The offensive line was better last season than this season. So we’ll go with 300 yards and that’s only because Ryan is a good quarterback and will make it work.

The Titans should also average slightly more points. It won’t be many, but if Tannehill provides some magic, and he has in the past, the Titans could average 18.5, maybe, 19 each game.

Titans Yard Per Game Range: 297 – 307

Titans Points Scored Range: 17-19

QB Ryan Tannehill to Win MVP: +10000

Analysis:
It would take an implosion of an incredible magnitude for Ryan Tannehill to win NFL MVP. Patrick Mahomes, Joe Burrow, Aaron Rodgers, even a player like Derek Carr would have to have a bad season.

Not only that, but Tannehill would have to have an amazing season. It shouldn’t happen because the Titans’ offensive line is a mess. Derick Henry’s odds are +15000. So Tannehill is a at lower odds than Henry. Neither has much of a shot of sniffing the NFL MVP.
