MLB Betting Predictions for the Complete Red Sox @ Blue Jays Series

The weekend usually means the start of a new series in Major League Baseball, and there are some great matchups starting up this weekend. The Boston Red Sox travel to Toronto to take on the Blue Jays in a matchup of AL East rivals.

Boston comes into this game on a long losing streak, and they are starting to fade in the AL East standings. The Red Sox are now just 40-42 on the season, and they need to find a way to get things turned back around.

Toronto has had a nice little run of late as they have won four of their last five games. The Blue Jays have gone 45-37 this season, and they are trying to make a run in the very tough AL East Division.

The Toronto Blue Jays are moneyline betting favorites at -140 in the series opener on Friday night.

I’ll end this article by predicting how I think the series will go and how that will affect their MLB betting odds for this week’s Red Sox @ Blue Jays series along with analysis and free picks for all three matchups.

Boston Red Sox vs. Toronto Blue Jays Series: Friday, June 30th – Sunday, July 2nd, 2023

Red Sox Need Some Pitching

The Boston Red Sox come into this series with a team ERA of 4.45 this season, and the starting rotation has really been struggling of late. Boston will have James Paxton on the mound in the series opener, and he has gone 3-1 so far this season.

If the Red Sox are going to turn things around, then it’s going to be up to the offense to really provide some runs for this team. Boston is hitting .258 on the year, but they are still looking to find some more power.

Rafael Devers has been a one-man wrecking crew in the power department for the Red Sox as he has hit 19 home runs and driven in 61 runs. Devers will deliver, but he needs some help from his teammates.

Blue Jays Want to Slug

The Toronto Blue Jays want to win games with their offense, but it has been the pitching that has carried them of late. Toronto has hit just 90 home runs this season, but they could have a big offensive series in this matchup.

Bo Bichette is having a big season at the plate for the Blue Jays as he leads the team with 14 home runs and a .319 batting average. Vladimir Guerrero Jr. is starting to heat up as well, and that’s a big key for this team.

Jose Berrios is going to start on Friday night, and he has one 8-5 with a 3.60 ERA this season. Toronto actually has a team ERA of 3.89 this season, and that’s extremely impressive when looking at this schedule.

Blue Jays Beat Up on Red Sox

The Boston Red Sox are having a better 2023 than they did a season ago, but this team is still struggling a bit. Boston has had a tough time getting their opponents out, and that’s going to create some issues up in Toronto.

Boston swept a four-game series from Toronto earlier this season, and the Blue Jays will be looking for some revenge this weekend. The Blue Jays have an offense that can get hot at anytime, and that is going to be the case in this game.

The Red Sox might be able to steal a game, but the Blue Jays are going to win this series over Boston.
