MLB Betting Predictions for the Complete Twins @ Astros Series

Memorial Day is always a big day when it comes to Major League Baseball, and there are a ton of series starting on Monday. The Minnesota Twins visit the Houston Astros on Monday afternoon for a pair of solid American League teams.

The Minnesota Twins come to Houston with an overall record of 27-26, and they are looking to take control of the American League Central Division. Minnesota has been struggling to win games of late as they have gone just 2-3 in their last five games.

Houston brings a 31-21 record into this matchup, and they are once again one of the best teams in the league. The Astros enter this game having won three of their last five games, and are now returning home from a trip.

The Houston Astros are -125 in the series opener and will likely be favored in all three games.

MLB Minnesota vs. Houston: Monday, May 29 – Wednesday, May 31, 2023

Twins Have Some Power

The Minnesota Twins are not hitting for a high average, but this team is loaded with some big bats. Minnesota has belted 72 home runs so far this season, and they should take advantage of a small ballpark.

Joey Gallo has been a nice pickup for this team as he has belted 11 home runs this season. Minnesota is going to need to hit for a ton of power in this series as they don’t have a pitching staff to rely on.

Sonny Gray is 4-0 with a 1.82 ERA so far this season, and he will try to get the Twins off to a good start with a win on Memorial Day.

Astros Continue to Pitch Well

The Houston Astros are dealing with some injuries to the starting rotation, but those injuries haven’t really impacted the results. Houston still has a team ERA of just 3.20 this season, but keeping the ball in the park will be important in this matchup.

Hunter Brown is set to start on Wednesday night for the Astros and he has gone 5-1 with a 3.12 ERA this season. The offense of the Astros will have to pick up the pieces this week, and they have the talent to get that done.

Yordan Alvarez comes into this game with 14 home runs and 48 RBIs, and he continues to torment opposing pitchers. The Astros are starting to get healthy, and that should help the offense produce.

Twins Hoping to Steal One

This is a matchup of two of the better teams in the American League, but they aren’t really on the same playing field. Minnesota is just barely staying above the .500 mark, while the Astros continue to play great baseball.

The Twins do have some pitchers on the mound that can keep these games close, but they have also struggled to hit with any consistency. Houston should be the better team in all three of these matchups, but you should expect Minnesota to come away with at least one win this week.

Stealing the series opener might be the best chance for the Twins to win a game in the series, and it should be a battle on Memorial Day.
